Happiest of Birthdays to You!

Hi Friends!

I wanted to share another card that I designed with the Our Daily Bread Designs August 2016 Release Woodpecker stamp set!

My husband, Dave and I love to watch birds and we often see Red-Bellied Woodpeckers at our feeders so when I saw the Woodpecker stamp set as part of the August ODBD release, I knew that this set would definitely be coming home with me- lol!

I have incorporated the Stampin’ Royalty SR343 “BirthdaysChallenge along with the Splicoaststampers’ SC604 Sketch Challenge  and the Hand Stamped Sentiments HSS#245 Inspiration Challenge into the design.

If you have not already had a chance to visit the above galleries yet, I hope you will do so as well as stop by the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the Woodpecker image with water-based markers and cut out with the ODBD Vintage Borders Dies.

Add a bit of glitter to the back of the woodpecker image with a clear glitter pen (hard to see in the photo).

Die cut and emboss a piece of textured soft blue cardstock with the ODBD Layered Lacey Square Dies and emboss piece of the Patriotic Collection 6x6 Paper Pad with the ODBD Boho Backgrounds Die.

Mount the embossed piece of the Patriotic Collection 6x6 Paper onto a piece of black cardstock, trim close to the edge, mount onto a piece of white cardstock (trimming per sketch) and mount onto the black card front.

Layer a piece of 1” black satin ribbon over the card front and adhere the ends behind the panel.

Stamp the sentiment from Woodpecker with archival black ink onto white cardstock, die cut and emboss with the Ornate Ovals Dies.

Trim off one end of ODBD Layered Lacey Square die cut, adhere to the card front and mount the entire panel onto the white card base.

Add the die cut Woodpecker image along with the sentiment with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

I am so thrilled that you visited with me today- hugs and have a blessed week, my friends!

Psalm 129:8- The Blessings of the Lord

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you had a fun Valentine’s Day weekend!  I was able to spend a bit of time designing cards this weekend for a few of my Design Team challenges (will be sharing these later this week) but I also was able to create a card using the Our Daily Bread Designs "Shining the Light" ODBDSLC270 Sketch Challenge along with the Splitcoaststampers’ (SCS) CC569 Color Challenge and the Just Add Ink  JAI298"Just Add V" Challenge (Verse for the sentiment).

If you have not done so already, I hope you will find the time to check out the Design Team samples and gorgeous gallery at Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) as well as the SCS and Just Add Ink galleries-  fabulous inspiration from all!

This card was very easy to create:

Ink the Quilts (ODBD) stamp image using Stāz-On® Jet Black ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

Use an AquaPainter™ to apply ink from Stampin’ Write Markers- Lost Lagoon, Old Olive and Watermelon Wonder to the quilt square and once dry, apply Clear Wink of Stella® to a few areas (this is difficult to see in the photo), fussy-cut the quilt square and layer onto a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the ODBD Double Stitched Circle Dies to cut out a circle and the ODBD Pennants Dies to cut out (and emboss the pennant) from Watermelon Wonder cardstock and the Layered Lacey Squares Die to cut out a piece from Whisper White cardstock.

Ink the ODBD Chalkboard Vine Background stamp with Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink and stamp off once before stamping onto the Double Stitched Circle die cut and Pennant Die Cut.

Emboss a piece of retired Old Olive Designer Series Paper with the retired Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, use a zig zag stitch with white thread to attach it to a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock, trim and mount onto the Watermelon Wonder card base.

Cut the Pennant Die cut (to split the die) and mount the Pennant Die cut along with the Layered Lacey Square die cut onto the card front.

Mount the Quilts image on a diagonal onto the Double Stitched Circle die cut and add the layered image the card front using dimensional foam.

Stamp the verse from the ODBD Doily Blessings stamp set with Stāz-On® Jet Black ink, stamp onto Whisper White cardstock and die cut with the ODBD Double Stitched Circle Dies.

Layer the die cut sentiment onto a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock (also die cut with the same size ODBD Double Stitched Circle Die) and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Add the Lost Lagoon 3/8” Stitched Satin Triple Bow with Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Quilts, Chalkboard Vine Background, Doily Blessings (all ODBD)

Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black, Watermelon Wonder; Stampin’ Write Markers- Lost Lagoon, Old Olive, Watermelon Wonder

Paper: Whisper White, Lost Lagoon, Watermelon Wonder, retired Old Olive DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™,  ODBD Dies- Layered Lacey Squares, Double Stitched Circles, Pennant; retired Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, 3/8” Lost Lagoon Stitched Satin Ribbon, Pearls, Sewing Machine, White Thread, AquaPainter™, Clear Wink of Stella®

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- hugs and have a blessed week, my friends!

CAS The Mighty God

Hello Friends!

I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend!

I am still working on my Christmas cards and created a group of Clean and Simple (CAS) Christmas cards using the Freshly Made Sketches FMS216Sketch along with the 4 Crafty Chicks “Non-Traditional Christmas Colors” Challenge.

Again, if you have not already visited the above sites, I hope you will take a moment to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

A few weeks ago in our Awana club, I taught a two-week lesson on the Names of Christ and Isaiah 9:6 is one of the verses we focused on for the lesson.

I just love this stamp and created Christmas cards for each of "my girls" using their favorite colors (in addition to the Elegant Eggplant, I also used Melon Mambo and Old Olive).  These cards will accompany a coordinating  Post-It® Note Holder along with a matching covered notebook as their Christmas gift this year (will share more of the project later this week) :-)

To create this CAS card:

Ink the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) The Mighty God stamp using Versamark™ and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, apply Stampin’ Emboss® Silver Embossing Powder, heat set with the Heat Tool and once the image has cooled, carefully cut around the frame.

Use the Big Shot™ along with the ODBD Layered Lacey Squares Die (largest square) and cut as well as emboss the die cut from Brushed Silver cardstock.  Hand-cut this square in half and adhere one half behind the focal image.

***FYI- I also cut a square of miscellaneous white cardstock to layer behind the embossed image and die so when this layer is added to the card front with dimensional foam, you would not be able to see shadows through the Whisper White cardstock :-) ****

Emboss a piece of Elegant Eggplant cardstock using the Big Shot™ with the Boho Chic Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, trim and mount onto a piece of Brushed Silver cardstock.

Add the polka dot embossed Whisper White panel to the Elegant Eggplant card base, add the Elegant Eggplant embossed panel and mount the focal image with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  The Mighty God (ODBD)

Ink:  Versamark™

Paper: Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant, Brushed Silver

Accessories: Big Shot™, Layered Lacy Squares Die (ODBD), Boho Chic and retired Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders, Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® Silver Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

Thanks again for visiting- I hope you have a fabulous week, my friends!

ODBDSLC262 Isaiah 6:6 The Mighty God

Hello Friends!

Wow, the Our Daily Bread November 2015 release is perfect for Christmas!! So many fabulous stamps and dies and don’t you just love this versatile sketch?

I decided to use the brand new stamp, The Mighty God– I just love this elegant stamp with the names of God from Isaiah 9:6 (yes, this is the same design as the Chalkboard version, Peace of Peace but now in an outline version- both are just gorgeous)!

Our Daily Bread Designs, The Mighty God, Layered Lacey Square Dies,

This card was fairly simple to create- emboss The Mighty God stamp image with Gold Embossing Powder onto White cardstock, trim and mount onto the gold frame created from the Layered Lacey Square Dies (FYI- I cut the die in half vertically so I could align the outside frame to overlap one of the scallop edges to create the rectangle shape).

Layer a piece of the Christmas Collection 2015 6x6 Paper onto a piece of gold cardstock, trim and layer onto burgundy cardstock.
Layer the embossed white panels in the same manner as above, mount onto the white card base, add the gold satin ribbon strip and bow to finish off the card.

Again, once you dry emboss the background  panels and heat emboss the main image, the card goes together rather quickly :-)  This would be a wonderful card to send for Christmas- if you are concerned about additional postage, I would leave the bow off the front for less bulk :-)

Again, I cannot express how thrilled I am to be guest designing alongside the talented ODBD Design Team and hope you will check out all of my DT sisters:

ODBDSLC256 Thank You

Hello Friends!

Today starts off the brand new ODBDSLC256 Shining the Light “Ink Up or Emboss Your Own Background” Challenge and although it may seem difficult to not incorporate designer paper in your project but I love using stamps to create my own “designer” paper!

I am also incorporating the Splitcoaststampers' Ways To Use It WT540 "Going on a Picnic" Challenge :-)

To create this card:

Stamp the background stamp, Chalkboard Vine Background using taupe ink onto the taupe cardstock, trim and mount onto white cardstock, trim once more and stamp onto the dark brown card base.

  ODBD Stamps- Thank You, Chalkboard Vine Background ;
ODBD Dies- Layered Lacey Square Dies , Stitched Ovals Dies, Oval Dies
Stamp the Thank You picnic basket image using a waterproof black ink onto white cardstock and color using water based markers with a water brush.

Cut the picnic basket image out using the Stitched Ovals Dies and mount onto an oval cut with the Ovals Dies from dark brown cardstock.

Add the 5/8” Dark Chocolate Satin Ribbon and triple ribbon bow to an embossed kraft layer and mount onto the square from the Layered Lacey Square Dies.

Stamp the verse from Thank You using a waterproof ink onto white cardstock, cut using the Stitched Ovals Dies, mount onto an oval cut with the Ovals Dies from dark brown cardstock.

Mount the layers using foam dimensionals and add a few pearls to finish off the card.

I love designing alongside the talented ODBD Design Team and hope you will check out my DT sisters:

Sing to the Lord- Faith is Knowing that God Will :-)

Hi Stampers!

I hope all of you are having a great weekend so far!  My husband and I were able to go to Shenandoah National Park on Friday- it was a glorious day!  We love the vistas and viewing God's handiwork from the mountain- just gorgeous!!

With that trip in mind, I wanted to create a card for this week's Our Daily Bread Designs Shine the Light ODBDSLC248 “Anything Goes” Challenge using two stamp sets I had not had a chance to ink up yet- Sing for the Lord and God Quotes.

We love watching birds and the bird image in Sing for the Lord appears to be a finch so I decided to create a male American Goldfinch :-)

Again, if you have not visited the ODBD challenge site yet, I hope you will find time to do so- fabulous Design Team samples and as well as their gallery!!

This card was a bit time consuming due to the “fussy cutting” but it is not too difficult to create:

Ink the images using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock (stamp a few extra blossoms).

Color the bird image using an AquaPainter™ with Daffodil Delight Classic Ink along with markers for the rest of the bird (as well as the blossoms)- Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Sahara Sand, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Tip Top Taupe and Mossy Meadow.

Carefully cut out ("fussy-cut") the branches, blossoms and gold finch image and set aside.

Use the Big Shot™ with the ODBD Layered Lacey Square Die to cut out the sentiment and run the die back through the machine with the silicone mat and texture plate to emboss the die cut as well.

Use the Big Shot™ to emboss a piece of Vellum with the Perfect Polka Dot Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (I had this piece already pre-embossed in my stash) and adhere the embossed vellum to a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Trim the panel, add the ODBD Beautiful Borders embossed and die cut Whisper White piece along with a strip of 5/8” Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Trim the panel and mount onto the Pretty In Pink card base.
Add the sentiment panel, bird and blossoms along with the pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: ODBD Sing to the Lord, God Quotes

Ink:  Stāz-On® Jet Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Sahara Sand, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Mossy Meadow, Tip Top Taupe

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Pretty in Pink

Accessories: Big Shot™, ODBD Layered Lacey Square Dies, ODBD Beautiful Borders Dies, 5/8” Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you have a fantastic day!
