TCC223b Let Us Love One Another

Hi Friends!

Today, I am sharing a card that I created for our #223b {Sweet Valentine} Challenge at The Card Concept.

I was inspired by the love theme and hearts from our photo to create a Shabby and Vintage card.

We hope that you will take a moment to stop by our challenge blog and check out how the rest of our wonderful Design Team was inspired as well!

I have a personal goal to create cards using some of my older stamps and I decided to pull out a retired Stampin’ Up! set, Script Heart and paired it with a verse sentiment from God Verses 2 (Divinity Designs, LLC).

I have not inked up either of these stamps in quite a while.  I love the roses in the heart stamp as well as the script around the edges.  I think the 1 John 4:7 verse is perfect for an Anniversary or Wedding card, don’t you?

I also enjoy playing along with online card challenges and will be linking this card to the Festive Friday #202 Valentine's Day Challenge (I incorporated Hearts, Love Sentiment, Pink, Lilac) and the Word Art Wednesday #736-#737 Anything Goes Challenge.

 To create this card:

Ink the verse sentiment from God Verses 2 with Versafine Black Onyx ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock, trim close to the edge.  Mount onto a piece of black cardstock, trim close to the edge.

Repeat the same steps above with the Script Heart main image.

Color the floral images with water-based markers and once satisfied with the coloring, trim close to the edges.  Mount onto black cardstock and trim close to the edge.

Trim a piece of green designer paper to 4” x 5 ¼”, mount onto a piece of 4 ¼” x 5 ½” black cardstock.

Close-up of the Script Heart image :-)

Cut the white paper doily in half, add to the card panel.

Adhere the 1 ½” black gingham ribbon along with the 1” black satin ribbon (wrapping the ends of the ribbon behind the panel).

Add a strip of the pleated ribbon, mount the main heart image with dimensional foam.

Add the sentiment with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Script Heart (retired Stampin’ Up!), God Verses 2 (Divinity Designs, LLC)

Inks/Mediums: Versafine Black Onyx, Stampin’ Write Markers- Pink Pirouette, Crushed Curry, Almost Amethyst, Gumball Green, Old Olive, Blushing Bride

Cardstock/Paper: White, Black, White Paper Doily (retired Stampin’ Up!), Misc designer paper

Accessories/Tools: 1” Black Satin Ribbon, 1 ½” wired Black Gingham ribbon (both from my stash), Pleated Blushing Bride Ribbon (retired Stampin’ Up!)

I hope you have had a chance to stop by The Card Concept to see how the rest of the Design Team were inspired as well as check out the other challenge gallery entries- gorgeous inspiration from all!

TCC223 I Will Give You Rest

Hi Friends!

Today, we are starting our January #223 Cozy New Year Challenge.

I was inspired by the Nordic pattern in the coffee cup along with the textures from our photo to create a  Clean and Layered/ Mixed Media card.

We hope that you will take a moment to stop by our challenge blog and check out how the rest of our wonderful Design Team was inspired as well!

We are looking forward to seeing how you may be inspired by our photo.  Would it be the colors, coffee/hot chocolate, textures, or something else?

We are looking forward to seeing your card in our gallery!

I enjoy playing along with online challenges and will be linking this card to the Word Art Wednesday #734-#735 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the sentiment from Scripture Collection 4 with Versafine Black Onyx ink, stamp onto the prepared cardstock paper and apply clear embossing powder.

Heat set the powder with a heat tool and once cooled, die cut with a square die and mount onto a piece of black cardstock (trimming close to the edge).

To create the background, cut five pieces of the Let's Get Cozy designer paper to 3 3/4" x 5".

Using the Stack ‘n Quilt method (see the tutorial here at Splitcoaststampers),  stack the five pieces together and cut along the diagonal, across, etc., layer onto white cardstock (per the tutorial).

Emboss the panels with the Tin Tile embossing folder, trim close to the edge.

Mount onto another piece of white cardstock, trimming close to the edge.

Layer a piece of burgundy satin ribbon along with the midnight stitched ribbon over the diagonal, wrap the edges behind the panel.

Mount the entire panel onto a piece of midnight cardstock, trim and adhere to a white card base.

Mount the layered verse sentiment to the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Scripture Collection 4 (Divinity Designs, LLC)

Inks/Mediums: Versafine Black Onyx

Cardstock/Paper: White, Midnight Muse, Let’s Get Cozy (Graphic 45)

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., Square Die Cuts (Spellbinders), Tin Tile Embossing Folder (Stampin’ Up!), Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, 1” Burgundy Satin Ribbon, Midnight Muse Stitched ⅜” Ribbon

I hope you have had a chance to stop by The Card Concept to see how the rest of the Design Team were inspired as well as check out the other challenge gallery entries- wonderful inspiration from all!

We hope you are inspired to create a card and join us for our Cozy New Year Challenge at The Card Concept!  The deadline to play along is Monday, February 9th at noon EDT.
