Nothing Is Impossible With God

Hi Friends!

This is another card designed with retired The Wilderness Awaits and Notable Notions stamp sets (Stampin’ Up!) along with the digi stamp sentiment from Be Encouraged (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps). 

I am making a concentrated effort to create a card using each of the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenges and used the SC237 Sketch for the layout on this card and will also be linking this card to the 2 Crafty Critters #40 “Anything Goes with a Critter” Challenge.

In addition to using the retired stamp sets, I also pulled out some of my older Stampin’ Up!  designer paper along with an antique brad and satin ribbons from my stash.

To create this card:

Ink the elk image using Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink onto white cardstock, heat set he ink with a heat tool.  Watercolor with water-based markers and distress oxide ink.

Die cut the elk image with a stitched square die, mount onto suede cardstock and trim close to the edge.

Trim the designer paper panel for the vertical layer on the sketch, stamp the Notable Notions script image with suede ink, mount onto suede cardstock, trim close to the edge.

Mount a piece of white cardstock onto suede cardstock, trim close to the edge.  Add the designer paper layer, add the gray satin ribbon along with the pomegranate ribbon (wrapping the ends behind the panel). Adhere the entire panel onto the white card base.

Mount the elk layered square onto the card front with dimensional foam (or chipboard).

Using photo editing software, import and re-size the sentiment, print out onto white cardstock.  

Trim and create a banner, mount onto suede cardstock, trim and add to the card front along with the antique brad.

Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the clouds to finish off the card.

TCC131 Woodland Nursery

Hi Friends!

Welcome to The Card Concept #131 {Woodland Nursery} Challenge!   

I just love the sweet animal images on this inspiration photo, don’t you?  I do not have a need for many baby cards but I wanted to create a few for my “stash” (most of mine are now for the grandparents versus the parents since my age group is no longer having babies, lol!).

I had purchased this Bo Bunny set over a year ago and thought it would be perfect for this challenge.  I am still working on the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenges and used the SC777 Sketch for the layout.

I am also playing along with the 2 Crafty Critters Crazies #36 “Anything Goes” Challenge and the Alphabet“Something for Youngsters” Challenge.

I had fun creating this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool.  Position the animal stamp images into a MISTI™ stamping tool (or use an acrylic block), ink with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink, stamp onto the prepared cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool. 

Once the embossing has cooled, watercolor the images using watercolor pencils and water-based markers.  Layer onto black cardstock, fussy-cut and set aside.

Die cut the square openings on a piece of gray cardstock and emboss with a woodgrain embossing folder.

Mount the embossed/die cut panel onto a piece of white cardstock.  Mount the entire panel onto a piece of black cardstock before adhering to the white card base.

Heat emboss the sentiments images (Baby Zoo- Altenew) onto black cardstock with white embossing powder, trim and mount onto the card front using dimensional foam (or, I prefer, scrap pieces of chipboard).

Add the animal images (also with chipboard or dimensional foam).

Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to their cheeks and finish off the card with a few silver sequins.

Walk in the Wild

Hi Friends!!

I have one final card to share for this morning (I need to get to sleep, lol!).  This card was designed for my hubby’s birthday using the retired Stampin’ Up! set, Walk in the Wild along with a verse from the current Divinity Designs LLC set, Scripture Collection 11.

I also used several patterns of retired Stampin’ Up! designer series paper- Park Lane (Blackberry Bliss floral pattern) and I am not sure of the name of the collection for the darker green layer.

I incorporated the Splitcoaststampers (SCS) SC582 Sketch Challenge for the layout and am also linking to the 

 2 Crafty Critters Crazies January “Anything Goes with a Critter” Challenge and the Addicted to Stamps and More #372 “Make Your Mark” Challenge.

The main focal image and sentiment were stamped with black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, distress oxide inks were used to watercolor the background and water-based markers were used to color the moose image. 

A bit of paper layering with dies, some retired stitched ribbon and a pewter ribbon slide were used to finish off the card.

My hubby and I love wildlife as well as Scripture- he was thrilled with this card! God's creation is amazing and we would love to be able to see a moose in the wild- maybe one day we can travel to Maine or out west :-)

#JOSTTT012 Very Merry

Hi Friends!!

I am thrilled to be the December Guest Designer for The Joy of Sets #012 December Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge!!  

One of the “perks” of being chosen as a winner at The Joy of Sets Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge is that you have a chance to be a future Guest Designer.  They chose my Gratitude leaf card as their October winner- what an honor!!

I thought all of the blocks in this month's Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge chart would be great for Christmas and since I am still concentrating on using stamps that I already own (and have not inked in a while), chose to use the far right column down- Reindeer, Ribbon and Plaid so I could ink up my neglected Dasher stamp (retired Stampin' Up!).  

I have not had a change to ink up this image in several years and paired it with a sentiment from Short & Sweet (also retired Stampin’ Up!).

I also incorporated the Splitcoastampers SC377 Sketch Challenge for the layout and will be linking to the Simon Says Wednesday “Traditional Christmas” Challenge  and the 2 Crafty Critter's Crazies #33 December Challenge- "Anything with a Critter" .

To create this card- Stamp the Dasher reindeer with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink onto white cardstock,  apply clear embossing powder and heat with a heat tool.  Die cut the image using a stitched oval die, mount onto another die cut with black cardstock (I split the black die in half and layered behind the main image).

Tear a piece of sticky note paper to create a few snow drifts in the background, use a water brush with a water-based marker to apply a bit of gray along the torn edges.  Once dry, use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer along the edges.

Emboss a piece of white cardstock with the Tin Tile 3 D embossing folder, cut into strips for the vertical background strips and mount onto black cardstock, trim close to the edge.

Die cut a piece of white cardstock with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto black cardstock, trim close to the edge.  Mount the vertical strips onto the background per the sketch.

Die cut a piece of plaid designer paper with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto black cardstock, trim close to the edge and mount onto the card front.

Wrap a piece of 1” black satin ribbon over the card panel, adhering the ends behind the panel.  Mount the entire panel onto the white card base.

Add the reindeer oval to the card front with dimensional foam or chipboard.

Heat emboss the sentiment as described above for the reindeer image, die cut with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto black cardstock, trim close to the edge.

Mount onto the card front and add a few rhinestones to the sentiment and reindeer antlers to finish off the card.

Natural Beauty- Dream One Layer Card

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a great week so far!  My hubby, Dave is doing better with each passing day as we are getting used to his new “normal”. 

I have been creating over the summer but have not had a chance to post many of the cards to my blog or other galleries (many of you have blogs and know the time that it takes photograph, edit and write up the blog posts). 

With my limited creative time due to taking care of the household chores that my hubby normally handles, etc. :-) I am going to post the cards in the future without the detailed step by step instructions but an overview of how they were created.  If you have any questions on a particular card, and/or technique, please feel free to ask.

I am linking this card to several online challenges- AAA #142 “Along the Edge” with optional twist of “Inspired by a Song” ( I think of the song that has the lyrics “Dream, Dream, Dream” when I see this image), the Simon Says Wednesday “Clean and Simple” Challenge , the Addicted to CAS #166 "One Layer Card" Challenge and the 2 Crafty Critters Crazies  “Anything Goes with Critters”Challenge.

This card is a one-layer card designed with an older Stampin’ Up! stamp set, Natural  Beauty.  

The white cardstock card base was folded in half and I used a scrap piece of paper to create a mask for the border along the right side.  I repeatedly stamped the word image along the edge with Versamark™ Onyx Black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.   

The little bird was also heat embossed with clear embossing powder and I used several Distress Oxide inks to blend color over the edge (see colors below)  

I finished off the card using a black marker to create a thick line along the border edge (this covered up a bit of the uneven ink and straighten up the edge).
