CC553 Birthday Blessings Rose

Hi Friends!!

This is the second card that I created for the Splitcoaststampers’  CC553 Color Challenge with a dessert option of Pearls or Rhinestones (again, what could be easier for me for dessert- lol!).  Details regarding the first card are in the previous post (located here) :-)

This card also incorporates the Splitcoaststampers’ SC562 Sketch Challenge.

Again, I hope you will take the time to visit both galleries to check out the wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) Christmas Rose image using
Stāz-On® and stamp Whisper White cardstock.

Color the flower image using Stampin’ Write Markers- Calypso Coral, Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers (scribbling the markers on a craft mat and using an AquaPainter™ to color the image).

Create a mask for the flower, ink the Chalkboard Vine (ODBD) image using Bermuda Bay Classic Ink, stamp off and stamp over the masked image.

Use an AquaPainter™ to paint the petals with Frost White Shimmer Paint.

Use the Big Shot™ with the My Favorite Things ™ (MFT) Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut out the image, mount onto Calypso Coral cardstock and trim.

Stamp the sentiment from Doily Blessings (ODBD) using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Vellum,  trim and mount onto a piece of Elegant Eggplant cardstock, trim  and mount onto a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Boho Chic Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, trim and mount onto a piece of Elegant Eggplant cardstock, trim and mount onto the Bermuda Bay card base.

Mount the layered Christmas Rose image onto the card front using dimensional foam.

Stamp the sentiment from Birthday Doily (ODBD) using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, punch the edges using the Hexagon Punch, mount onto Elegant Eggplant cardstock, punch the edges with the Hexagon Punch, mount onto Bermuda Bay cardstock and punch the ends with the Hexagon Punch.

Mount the sentiment onto the focal image panel and add the Elegant Eggplant button with Natural Linen Thread to the Pearls to the ribbon to finish off the card.

Add the Pearl to the center of the flower to finish off the card.

Amazing Grace- How Sweet the Sound :-)

Hi Stampers!!

I had a chance to stamp this afternoon and decided to create a card for the Our Daily BreadDesigns ODBDSLC247 "Floral Inspiration" Challenge along with the Splitcoaststampers’ CAS307 “Use Your Words” Challenge (see details here and gallery here) and Crafts4Eternity R#236 "Music".

Again, I hope you will take the time to visit the above sites- fabulous Design Team creations as well as gorgeous galleries and inspiration from all!

I pulled out a few Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) stamps and decided to use Christmas Rose for a non-Christmas card :-)

To create this card-

Stamp the Christmas Rose image five times using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink  (you do not need the entire image- just the main flower).

Color the petals with Stampin’ Write Markers- Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo, spritz with water to soften the marker edges, fussy-cut the images and curl the petals upward.

Once the flower images are dry, color the center with the Hello Honey Stampin’ Write marker, add the white highlights with a Faber-Castell® White Pitt Pen marker and set the flowers aside.

Ink the Amazing Grace Hymn stamp using Smoky Slate Classic Ink and stamp on an angle onto Whisper White cardstock.

Trim the background panel and mount onto a piece of Brushed Gold cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Always Artichoke card base.

Ink the sentiment using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and use the Big Shot™ with the ODBD Vintage Flourish Pattern Die to cut out the sentiment as well as a piece from Brushed Gold cardstock.

Cut the Brushed Gold die cut in half horizontally and mount behind the sentiment (allowing a bit to show as a frame).

Wrap a piece of Gold Thread into a large loop and adhere to the card front (I used a drop of hot glue).

Use the Martha Stewart Leaf Punch to punch out the leaves from Always Artichoke cardstock and adhere behind the flowers.

Mount the framed sentiment to the card front using dimensional foam tape and add the flowers around the sentiment.

Finish off the card with a few  Pearls in the corners and you are done!

FYI- This card was a bit difficult to photograph- the Frost White Shimmer Paint created quite a glare and made the flowers in the photo look different in the color as well as highlight the wrinkles in the paper from curling- oops!

Stamp Sets: Our Daily Bread Designs- How Sweet the Sound, Amazing Grace Hymn, Christmas Rose

Ink: Stāz-On Jet Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo, Hello Honey; Faber-Castell® White Pitt Pen Marker, Frost White Shimmer Paint

Paper: Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Brushed Gold

Accessories: Big Shot™, ODBD Vintage Flourish Pattern Die,  Martha Stewart Leaf Punch, Gold Metallic Thread, Pearls

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- it is such an encouragement to me!  Have a wonderful day, my friends!

Christmas In July- A Christmas Rose for a Color and Sketch Challenge :-)

Hi Again Stampers!

This card was created for the Our Daily Bread Designs ODBDSLC245 Color Challenge along with the Tis' The Season TTS46 Sketch Challenge and is one of the designs for my CCC15 Christmas Card Challenge at Splitcoaststampers (a personal commitment to create cards each month- see gallery here).

Again, if you have not visited the challenge sites yet, I hope you will find time to do so- terrific Design Team designs and as well as their galleries!!

To create this card:

Stamp the floral image from the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) Christmas Rose set and the sentiment from Blessed Christmas (ODBD) using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the rose image using Stampin’ Write markers- Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette, Primrose Petals along with Mossy Meadow and create shadows with Sahara Sand.  Add a few white highlights with the White Gel Pen.

Use the Big Shot™ along with the MFT Stitched Square Die to cut out the image and mount onto a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock.

Use a 1” Square Punch to create the photo corners from Primrose Petals and Mossy Meadow cardstock and adhere to the corners.
Create the banner points on the sentiment using the Hexagon Punch and mount onto a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock (using the punch to create the banner as well).

Mount a piece of designer paper from the ODBD Heart and Soul Collection to a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock.

Add the Primrose Petals embossed panel and the strip of Mossy Meadow cardstock along the angled seam (the Primrose Petals piece was in my scraps and had been previously embossed with the retired Fancy Fan Textured Impressions™ Embossing  Folder).

Add the focal image and sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and adhere Pearls to the corners of the focal image.

Adhere the Silver Cord loops behind the focal image and sentiment using Glue Dots™ to finish off the card.
