Christ the Lord is Risen Today- Alleluia!!

Happy Resurrection Sunday, Friends!!

I just love the font and design of the Alleluia Chalkboard stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) and decided to create a quick Clean and Simple (CAS) card for the ODBDSLC272 Scripture and Lace Challenge :-)

I chose patriotic colors for this card to represent the freedom from our sins that we have with our faith in Christ alone for our salvation-

Eph 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

So even though the Alleluia Chalkboard stamp is not technically Scripture, it is based on Scripture and I am so thrilled that I have a personal relationship with the Risen Lord!!

If you have not had a chance to visit the ODBD site yet, I hope you will find the time to do so...they are celebrating their 8th Anniversary and sharing inspiration from all of their Designers- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the Alleluia Chalkboard stamp using Midnight Muse Classic Ink, stamp onto Whisper White cardstock, cut out the image and mount onto Midnight Muse cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ to die cut and emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies.

Mount the die cut panel onto the Whisper White card base using dimensional foam.

Add the Alleluia Chalkboard image using dimensional foam along with die cut rolled roses and leaves to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Alleluia Chalkboard (ODBD)

Ink: Midnight Muse (retired Stampin' Up!)

Paper: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow, retired Midnight Muse

Accessories: Big Shot™, Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies (ODBD), MS Leaf Punch, Mini Royal Rose and Royal Rose Dies (MFT)

Thanks again for stopping by!!  Hugs and I hope you have a fabulous week, my friends!

ODBDSLC261 You Will Find Refuge

Hello Friends!

I just love these colors and was able to various shades of the colors for this card celebrating nature with the You Will Find Refuge stamp set with the verse from Psalm 108:1 “I will sing and make music with all of my soul”.

My husband and I love to watch birds and the black capped chickadee is one of our favorite birds that are regulars at our feeders every day.  They are very inquisitive and brave for such a small bird not to mention handsome in their black, white and gray feathers- just so cute!

To create this card:

Cut a piece of the Christmas Collection 2015 6x6 Paper  using the frame from the Vintage Flourish Patterns Dies and position over a piece of Hunter Green cardstock using a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine to attach the die cut.

ODBD Stamp Sets: You Will Find RefugeHoneycomb Mini;
ODBD Dies:Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies, Vintage Labels Dies, Pennant Dies,
ODBD Paper: Christmas 2015 6x6 Paper Collection
Add the 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon strip and mount the panel onto a  piece of Soft Suede cardstock.

Stamp the chickadee image from You Will Find Refuge using Stāz-On® Jet Black onto White cardstock, color using Stampin’ Write Markers- Basic Black, Basic Gray, Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler and Sahara Sand for the shadows.

Use the Honeycomb Mini stamp with Ranger® Tim Holtz® Old Paper Distress Ink to fill in part of the background and cut the image out with the Vintage Labels Dies (also cutting two additional dies the same size- one each from Mossy Meadow and Early Espresso cardstock.

Split the Mossy Meadow and Early Espresso Vintage Labels Die cuts in half and layer behind the focal image die cut.

Add the focal image to the card front panel using dimensional foam.
Ink the verse from You Will Find Refuge using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, add a bit of the Honeycomb Mini stamped with the Old Paper Distress Ink (as above), cut out with the Pennants Dies (also cutting the same size pennant from Mossy Meadow and Early Espresso cardstock and layer the Mossy Meadow and Early Espresso Pennant Dies behind the verse sentiment.

Add the sentiment to the card front and adhere the 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon bow.

Mount the entire panel onto the Whisper White card base and finish off the card with a few Pearls.

I cannot express how thrilled I am to be designing alongside the talented ODBD Design Team and hope you will check out all of my DT sisters:

ODBDSLC260 Glory To God

Hello Friends!

Heat embossing was one of the first techniques that I discovered when I started stamping sixteen years ago and I still think it is a very easy way to add elegance to a card.

I decided to use the brand new Elegant Embellishments clear stamp set (with the coordinating Elegant Embellishments dies) along with the Vintage Flourish Patterns Die for the dry embossed background.

To create this card:
Stamp Sets- Elegant Embellishments, Dies- Vintage Flourish Patterns Dies,
Elegant Embellishments Dies, Vintage Label Dies, Christmas Collection 2015 6x6

Emboss a piece of White cardstock using the Vintage Flourish Patterns Die (I love the fact that these dies can be used to cut, emboss or just emboss) and trim the panel.

Cut a piece of the Christmas Collection 2015 6x6 Paper using the Vintage Labels Die and adhere to the center of the white embossed panel.

Ink the Elegant Embellishments stamps using Versamark™ ink, stamp onto white cardstock and heat emboss with Gold Embossing Powder.

Another view- it is difficult to see the two tone gold/silver
embossing on the upper left ornament
Use the Elegant Embellishments Dies to cut out the ornaments, add the Gold Cord trim and mount the ornaments to the card front (using dimensional foam for two of the ornaments).

Add the 5/8” Gold Satin Ribbon bow to the corner and mount the entire panel onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.

Adhere the entire panel to the white card base and add the Gold Cord bows to the ornaments along with the Pearls to finish off the card.

I am so thrilled to be designing alongside the talented ODBD Design Team and hope you will check out all of my DT sisters:

Amazing Grace- How Sweet the Sound :-)

Hi Stampers!!

I had a chance to stamp this afternoon and decided to create a card for the Our Daily BreadDesigns ODBDSLC247 "Floral Inspiration" Challenge along with the Splitcoaststampers’ CAS307 “Use Your Words” Challenge (see details here and gallery here) and Crafts4Eternity R#236 "Music".

Again, I hope you will take the time to visit the above sites- fabulous Design Team creations as well as gorgeous galleries and inspiration from all!

I pulled out a few Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) stamps and decided to use Christmas Rose for a non-Christmas card :-)

To create this card-

Stamp the Christmas Rose image five times using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink  (you do not need the entire image- just the main flower).

Color the petals with Stampin’ Write Markers- Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo, spritz with water to soften the marker edges, fussy-cut the images and curl the petals upward.

Once the flower images are dry, color the center with the Hello Honey Stampin’ Write marker, add the white highlights with a Faber-Castell® White Pitt Pen marker and set the flowers aside.

Ink the Amazing Grace Hymn stamp using Smoky Slate Classic Ink and stamp on an angle onto Whisper White cardstock.

Trim the background panel and mount onto a piece of Brushed Gold cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Always Artichoke card base.

Ink the sentiment using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and use the Big Shot™ with the ODBD Vintage Flourish Pattern Die to cut out the sentiment as well as a piece from Brushed Gold cardstock.

Cut the Brushed Gold die cut in half horizontally and mount behind the sentiment (allowing a bit to show as a frame).

Wrap a piece of Gold Thread into a large loop and adhere to the card front (I used a drop of hot glue).

Use the Martha Stewart Leaf Punch to punch out the leaves from Always Artichoke cardstock and adhere behind the flowers.

Mount the framed sentiment to the card front using dimensional foam tape and add the flowers around the sentiment.

Finish off the card with a few  Pearls in the corners and you are done!

FYI- This card was a bit difficult to photograph- the Frost White Shimmer Paint created quite a glare and made the flowers in the photo look different in the color as well as highlight the wrinkles in the paper from curling- oops!

Stamp Sets: Our Daily Bread Designs- How Sweet the Sound, Amazing Grace Hymn, Christmas Rose

Ink: Stāz-On Jet Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo, Hello Honey; Faber-Castell® White Pitt Pen Marker, Frost White Shimmer Paint

Paper: Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Brushed Gold

Accessories: Big Shot™, ODBD Vintage Flourish Pattern Die,  Martha Stewart Leaf Punch, Gold Metallic Thread, Pearls

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- it is such an encouragement to me!  Have a wonderful day, my friends!
