Patriotic Heart and Soul- Trust in the Lord

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a fabulous week so far!  This card was designed for the Splitcoaststampers F4A330 “Spring into Action” Challenge (see details here and gallery here as well as the Just Add Ink JAI316 "Just Add Stripes" Challenge along with my second entry for the Paper Players PP299 Color Challenge.

I love patriotic colors this time of year and I decided to create a Slider Card (see the Splitcoaststampers tutorial here) using Our Daily Bread Designs stamps.

If you have not had a chance to check out the above challenge sites, I hope you will find time to do so- such inspiration from all!

To create this card:

front view with sliders closed
All of the Our Daily Bread Design (ODBD) images were colored with Stampin’ Write Markers- Dapper Denim, Cherry Cobbler and Smoky Slate (for the “white” stripes).

Several ODBD sets were used- Stars & Stripes Heart (large heart on front), Heart and Soul (small heart and medium heart at top of upper slider portion), Old Flag Background (background on lower slider), How Sweet the Sound (sentiment on lower slider), Scripture Collection 3 (sentiment on upper slider) and Ornate Borders Sentiments (sentiment on front of slider).
Sliders partially open

After stamping the images and cutting/ scoring out all of the components of the slider card (per the tutorial), the large and small hearts along with the eyelet heart border were die cut/embossed using Big Shot with the ODBD Ornate Hearts die, the sentiment using the ODBD Double Stitched Circle Die and the corners were rounded with the Envelope Punch Board.

Sliders fully open
The Whisper White background was embossed with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (SU!).

Since this was my first slider card in many years, it was a bit time-consuming for me to assemble and also difficult to photograph (the slider parts look better IRL :-)).

Stamp Sets: Heart and Soul, Stars & Stripes Heart, Ornate Borders Sentiments, How Sweet the Sound, Scripture Collection 3, Old Flag Background (all Our Daily Bread Designs)

Ink/Mediums: Stampin’ Write Markers- Dapper Denim, Cherry Cobbler, Smoky Slate

Paper: Whisper White, Dapper Denim, Cherry Cobbler

Accessories: Big Shot™, ODBD Ornate Hearts Dies, ODBD Double Stitched Circle Dies, Lucky Stars Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Silver Cord, 1 ¼” Circle Punch, 1 ¼” Square Punch, 5/8” Cherry Ribbon (from my stash)

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- if you have the time, come play along with us at the Free For All Challenges:-) Hugs and have a great week!

Amazing Grace- One Layer Card

Hi Again Stampers!!

This Clean and Simple (CAS) One Layer card was created using the IN{K}SPIRE_me #249  Color Challenge along with the One Layer Simplicity OLS27 "Fruit Smoothie" Challenge and the CAS(E) This Sketch #172 Sketch Challenge.

Again, if you have not already done so, I hope you will find the time to visit the above challenge sites to check out their fabulous Design Team samples and challenge entries!

To create this card:

Fold a piece of 4 ¼” x 11” Extra Thick Whisper White cardstock in half for the card base.

Ink the sentiment from How Sweet the Sound (Our Daily Bread Designs) with Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto the card front.

Use sticky note paper to create a mask over the sentiment, ink the Fragrance floral image (ODBD) with Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp around the sentiment.

Use an AquaPainter™ with Rose Red Classic Ink to color the flowers and add additional shadows with the Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Write Marker.

Use Stampin’ Write Markers- Hello Honey for the flower center and Pear Pizzazz for the leaves to finish coloring the flowers.

Add Rose Red and Rich Razzleberry ink to the center of a clear envelope (cut open like a book- this is a modified Smakin' Acetate technique :-)), spritz with water, “smoosh” the marker ink between the acetate of the envelope, lay portions of the card front onto the ink to add the splatter on the corners.

Add additional splatter with the Grunge Elements (Artistic Outpost) stamp and Stāz-On® Stone Gray Ink (stamping off before stamping onto the card front).

Card base was decorated only-
no additional layers :-)
Add the definition lines with a ruler and a Faber-Castell® Pitt Pen “B” Black Marker and apply Clear Wink of Stella® to the flowers to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: How Sweet the Sound & Fragrance (Our Daily Bread Designs), Grunge Elements (Artistic Outpost)

Ink/Mediums: Stāz-On® Jet Black, Rose Red; Stampin’ Write Markers- Rose Red, Rich Razzleberry, Hello Honey, Pear Pizzazz; Clear Wink of Stella®, Faber-Castell® Pitt Pen Black Marker

Paper: Extra Thick Whisper White

Accessories: AquaPainter™, Ruler, Sticky Note Paper, Clear Envelope, Water Spritzer Bottle

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- hugs and have a blessed week, my friends!

Amazing Grace- How Sweet the Sound :-)

Hi Stampers!!

I had a chance to stamp this afternoon and decided to create a card for the Our Daily BreadDesigns ODBDSLC247 "Floral Inspiration" Challenge along with the Splitcoaststampers’ CAS307 “Use Your Words” Challenge (see details here and gallery here) and Crafts4Eternity R#236 "Music".

Again, I hope you will take the time to visit the above sites- fabulous Design Team creations as well as gorgeous galleries and inspiration from all!

I pulled out a few Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) stamps and decided to use Christmas Rose for a non-Christmas card :-)

To create this card-

Stamp the Christmas Rose image five times using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink  (you do not need the entire image- just the main flower).

Color the petals with Stampin’ Write Markers- Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo, spritz with water to soften the marker edges, fussy-cut the images and curl the petals upward.

Once the flower images are dry, color the center with the Hello Honey Stampin’ Write marker, add the white highlights with a Faber-Castell® White Pitt Pen marker and set the flowers aside.

Ink the Amazing Grace Hymn stamp using Smoky Slate Classic Ink and stamp on an angle onto Whisper White cardstock.

Trim the background panel and mount onto a piece of Brushed Gold cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Always Artichoke card base.

Ink the sentiment using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and use the Big Shot™ with the ODBD Vintage Flourish Pattern Die to cut out the sentiment as well as a piece from Brushed Gold cardstock.

Cut the Brushed Gold die cut in half horizontally and mount behind the sentiment (allowing a bit to show as a frame).

Wrap a piece of Gold Thread into a large loop and adhere to the card front (I used a drop of hot glue).

Use the Martha Stewart Leaf Punch to punch out the leaves from Always Artichoke cardstock and adhere behind the flowers.

Mount the framed sentiment to the card front using dimensional foam tape and add the flowers around the sentiment.

Finish off the card with a few  Pearls in the corners and you are done!

FYI- This card was a bit difficult to photograph- the Frost White Shimmer Paint created quite a glare and made the flowers in the photo look different in the color as well as highlight the wrinkles in the paper from curling- oops!

Stamp Sets: Our Daily Bread Designs- How Sweet the Sound, Amazing Grace Hymn, Christmas Rose

Ink: Stāz-On Jet Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo, Hello Honey; Faber-Castell® White Pitt Pen Marker, Frost White Shimmer Paint

Paper: Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Brushed Gold

Accessories: Big Shot™, ODBD Vintage Flourish Pattern Die,  Martha Stewart Leaf Punch, Gold Metallic Thread, Pearls

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- it is such an encouragement to me!  Have a wonderful day, my friends!
