CAS Beautiful You "Dress Up "

Hi Friends!

I have been busy the last few days organizing my craft storage room and decided to take a break and create a quick card for the CASOLOGY #253 “Clothes” Challenge using the colors from The Challenge #87 “Aqua, Orange and Hot Pink”Challenge.

When I was organizing my craft storage area (I am fortunate to have a 10’ x 11’  room dedicated to storage of all of my paper, punches, scrapbooks, fabric, etc. but I am not able to actually create in this room- too much “stuff” as my hubby says- lol!) I found a stash of “scraps”- die cuts, colored images, etc. that I had set aside for future use.  After several hours sorting these "scraps" and resolving now use these "found items",  I pulled out a previously die cut dress and rose for this quick card.

To create this card:

1). On a folded piece of heavy duty white cardstock, use a sponge dauber with the Memory Box™ Zippy Dots stencil and apply Pool Party along with Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink to the background.

2). Tear off a few strips of Washi Tape (various manufacturers) and apply on a diagonal.  Stamp the sentiment from Beautiful You (Stampin’ Up!) with Melon Mambo Classic Ink.

3). Apply a strip of Washi Tape to the dress die cut (this was one of my “found” pieces- previously cut from retired SU! Venetian Romance DSP using the retired Dress Up Framelits™).  To cover the vanilla background of the designer paper (and bring more pink into the design) use a Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker to color the entire dress and blend the color with an AquaPainter™.  Once dry, adhere to the card front with dimensional foam.

4). Attach the Pool Party rose (another item from my stash- previously die cut with the My Favorite Things™ Mini Royal Rose Die).

5). Apply shimmer to the dress and rose with a Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Beautiful You (Stampin’ Up!)

Ink/Mediums: Classic Ink-Melon Mambo, Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie; Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker, Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen

Paper: Pool Party, White Heavy Duty Cardstock (from my stash), Venetian Romance retired Stampin’ Up!

Accessories: Big Shot™, retired Dress Up Framelits™, MFT Mini Royal Rose Dies, Memory Box™ Zippy Dots Stencil, Sponge Daubers, misc. Washi Tape

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

FM142 Formal Red Dress Birthday

Hi Again Stampers!

While I had the colors out for this week’s PPA187 Pals Paper Arts Challenge, I decided to create a second card with the PPA187colors, the FMS118 Sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and The Friday Mashup! FM142 Theme Challenge-Birthdays.

Again, I hope you have the time to check out all three sites- so much inspiration!

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ along with Beautifully Barogue Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock.   Emboss a piece of Soft Sky cardstock( layered onto Real Red cardstock strips) using the Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and adhere to the embossed Whisper White panel.

Stamp the sentiment from Wetlands using Real Red Classic Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and create the banner points using the Hexagon Punch.  Mount the sentiment onto the Soft Sky layer, add the 5/8” Organza Ribbon Bow and add the entire panel to the Real Red cardbase.

Use the Big Shot™ along with the Dress Up Framelits™ to cut the dress shape from a piece of Soft Sky cardstock and retired Acrylic Sheet with Flocked Accents (from Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP).  FYI- I had to hand cut the acrylic sheet to finish off the dress since the material would not cut all the way through with the framelit™.

Layer the flocked acrylic piece over the Soft Sky dress cut-out and add to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.   Add the Pearl to the center of the dress and the Real Red rolled flower to finish off the card :-)

Stamp Sets: Wetlands

Ink: Real Red

Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Soft Sky, retired Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper

Accessories: Big Shot™, Beautifully Baroque and Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders, Hexagon Punch, Pearl, 5/8” Organza Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by- I hope you have a great Monday!!

Sensible Woman in a Polka Dot Dress :-)

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to create a card to start off the weekend and decided to use the Freshly Made Sketches #FMS100 Challenge (congrats on 100!) along with the SR190 colors from Stampin’ Royalty.

Hope you take the time to visit both sites- so many examples of projects (no two the same- love it!! :-))

To create this card:

Stamp the script image from Notable Notions using Basic Black Classic Ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock and adhere to a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Add the Pistachio Pudding DSP (from Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper) onto a layer of Basic Black cardstock and mount onto the background layer at an angle per the sketch.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Dress Up Framelits™ to cut the dress from the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper and use the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits™ L with a piece of Very Vanilla.

Add the 1/2” Crumb Cake Seam Binding for the waistband (fold in half first) across the dress and adhere behind the dress with Glue Dots.

To create the paper roses- Use the 7/8” Scallop Circle Punch and 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punch to punch out circles from Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock (one with the 7/8” Punch and three with the 1 ¼” Punch).

Take your scissors and cut a wavy spiral cut around the flower- start from the outside and follow the circle around towards the center leaving an area in the middle for the glue, scrunch the paper a bit and roll the cardstock up starting from the outside edge towards the center.  Add a bit of Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the center of the flower to hold in place and add a Pearl (Splitcoaststampers has a photo tutorial here).

Use the Bird Builder Punch to punch out the leaves from Pistachio Pudding Cardstock (I cut a few leaves off the stem for the small rose) and adhere behind the flowers using Glue Dots.     Add the small rose to the waist of the dress with a Glue Dot.

Adhere a strip of Crisp Cantaloupe DSP (from Birthday Basics) to a piece of Basic Black cardstock and add to the front of the card overlapping the Pistachio Pudding and Doily a bit.

I decided to use a previously printed My Digital Studio™  (MDS) sentiment from Favorite Thoughts (love this sentiment and the download is still current :-))  and hand cut the banner points.  To handcut, using Paper Snips cut toward the sentiment on the end (in the middle) and then hand cut from the corners to meet the end of the center cut  (again toward the sentiment).   I have also cut the banner points in the past using the 1" Square Punch but decided to go the hand cut way this time :-)

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals® add the banner and the dress- finish off the card adding the roses to the corner of the sentiment.

Stamp Sets:  Notable Notions, Favorite Thoughts (MDS)

Ink: Basic Printer Ink- Black, Black Classic Ink

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Designer Series Paper- Birthday Basics, Modern Medley and Venetian Romance

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Dress Up Framelits™, Delicate Doilies Sizzlits™ L, 7/8” and 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punches, ½” Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon, Pearls

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- it is so encouraging to me!!  Have a great weekend and God Bless!!

Ladies Card Ministry- Card #1- Happy Big Day!

Hi Stampers!!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful week so far!!  I wanted to take the time to share a few cards that we created at our Ladies Ministry Card Making event this past weekend.   Our ministry was for primarily for the ladies of our church to have a chance to fellowship and have fun creating cards but it could easily be modified to a card making ministry for outreach as well.  I am going to post the cards in separate posts so it will be easier to link from other galleries :-)

To create the Happy Big Day Card:

Ink the script background from Notable Notions using Island Indigo Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  Emboss using the Big Shot™ with the Framed Tulips Textured Impressions™  Folder and mount this background onto a piece of Island Indigo cardstock.

Using the Big Shot™ with the Dress Up Framelits™ to cut a dress from Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper (I used a piece 4” wide by 3 ½” long) and cut a horizontal strip from the scrap of this piece once the dress is cut out.

Cut the horizontal strip in half (the dress will cover up the cut) and flip over to the opposite side, layer onto a piece of Island Indigo cardstock (we used scrap strips of Island Indigo at the top and bottom of DSP pieces versus a solid piece of cardstock).

Layer this horizontal strip onto the card along with the sentiment (stamped from Chalk Talk with Island Indigo Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut with the Chalk Talk Framelits™).

Add the ribbon to the dress (I used retired Organdy Ribbon) and attach the dress using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Punch the flower from Pumpkin Pie cardstock using the Pansy Punch, the center from Whisper White using the ¾” Circle Punch and the leaves from Island Indigo using the Bird Builder Punch.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Perfect Polka Dots folder to emboss the flower and flower center.  Add the leaves to the back using Mini Glue dots and adhere to the card.

Punch the little flower from Island Indigo cardstock using the scallop punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack- add to the bow using Mini Glue Dots and adhere the Rhinestone in the center- a girl has to have diamonds- right- lol!!?

Stamp Sets:  Chalk Talk, Notable Notions

Ink: Island Indigo

Paper: Whisper White, Island Indigo, Pumpkin Pie, Quatrefancy Specialty DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Framed Tulips and Perfect Polka Dot Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders, Chalk Talk  and Dress Up Framelits™,  Punches- Pansy, ¾” Circle, Bird Builder, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Organdy Ribbon (retired) , Rhinestone

Thanks again for stopping by and the other two cards will be posted today as well!  Have a great day!!
