Christmas In July- Another Tissue Watercolor Background

Hi Friends!!

Today I am sharing a Clean and Simple (CAS) Christmas card using the scrap leftover piece of a tissue paper technique background I had created for another CAS card (see previous post here).

Since I already had the background panel, I searched through my stash of "scraps" and found the snowflakes plus the sentiment already die cut/printed and ready to go making this card fairly quick and easy to assemble :-)

If you have not already had a chance to visit the above challenge sites, I hope you will do so- so much inspiration from their Design Teams as well as in their galleries!

To create this card:

1). Using Tranquil Tide and Soft Sky Classic Ink, tap the pads onto a silicone craft mat, spritz with water, use a plastic spoon (or palette knife) to mix the ink a bit and lay a piece of tissue paper into the ink (smooshing very gently with your fingers to moisten all of the tissue).  Carefully lift up the tissue paper and set onto a paper towel to dry.  My first layer was a bit light so I added additional ink until I was satisfied with the color.

2). Using a craft glue, spread the glue over an entire piece of white cardstock, squishing the tissue a bit to create more ridges and allow the panel to dry (I did use a heat tool to speed up the process- I am so impatient!).  De-static the panel with an Embossing Buddy®, gently rub the Versamark™ ink pad over the ridges, apply Silver Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

3). Use the Big Shot™ with the MFT Stitched Rectangle STAX Dies to cut the panel, mount onto Basic Black cardstock and trim close to the die cut edge.

4). Print the sentiment from Merry & Type using My Digital Studio™ (retired Stampin’ Up!) onto Whisper White cardstock, die cut with the Big Shot™ with a smaller frame die from the MFT Rectangle STAX , mount onto black cardstock and trim close to the edge.   Adhere the sentiment panel to the tissue paper background panel.

5). Die cut the various snowflakes from Silver Foil, mount a few behind the tissue paper background and sentiment.  Trim another Whisper White panel and mount onto the Basic Black card base.  Add the layered snowflake background panel to the car front with dimensional foam.

6). Finish off the card by adding the large snowflake, rhinestones and a few accents with  Nuvo™ Silver Lining Crystal Drops.

CAS Christmas Snowflake

Hello Friends!

I hope all of you are having a fabulous weekend! I had a chance to create a few projects this weekend and this card was designed from scraps using the FreshlyMade Sketches FMS215 Sketch along with the CAS-ual Fridays CFC146 “Snowflake”Challenge and the Simon Wednesday “Let It Snow” Challenge.

Again, if you have not already visited the above sites, I hope you will take a moment to do so- tremendous inspiration from all!

This is a very simple card to create using dies, a bit of Silver Cord and Rhinestones.

I already had the My Favorite Things™ (MFT) Jumbo Stitched Fishtail Banner die cuts in my scraps since I usually cut out banners and other shapes from the background layered panels.

The snowflakes were die cut from Silver Foil and I did dry emboss the Whisper White Banner using the Big Shot™ with the Memory Box (MB) Lindeman Snowflake Die (it is difficult to see this in the photo since the dry embossing is behind the silver snowflake die cut).

The sentiment was stamped onto a scrap piece of Smoky Slate so again, a quick, easy card for Christmas!

Stamp Sets:  More Merry Messages (retired Stampin’ Up!)

Ink:  Memento™ Tuxedo Black

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Silver Foil

Accessories: Big Shot™, MFT Jumbo Stitched Fishtail Banner STAX Dies, MB Lindeman Snowflake Die, Silver Cord, Rhinestones, Frosted Finishes Embellishment

Thanks again for visiting- I hope you have a fabulous week, my friends!

HYCCT1510 With Loving Wishes

Hi Again Friends!!

I had Blackberry Bliss still on my desk from a few cards that I created this week and since the HYCCT Challenges are to support breast cancer patients, I thought this would be a good non-traditional color choice for my tag Christmas card :-)  I personally love purple so I hope you are not too tired of that color yet...

I am also going to link this to the Splitcoaststampers' CCC15 Christmas Card Challenge for the September theme of snowflakes :-)

I hope you have a chance to visit the above galleries and possibly time to join in on the fun!!

To create this card:

Stamp the sentiment and holly from Embellished Ornaments using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto a piece of watercolor paper and the holly only onto a piece of white cardstock (I should have used watercolor paper for this step but for some reason pulled out a miscellaneous white cardstock instead- oops! :-)).

Using Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Stains (I used Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves), tap a bit of each color onto a craft mat, spritz with water and lay the  piece of watercolor paper into ink, spritz more water onto the panel and allow the inks to merge.

Repeat the above process on the regular white cardstock panel (being careful not to saturate this panel with too much water or the paper will “pill”) and use the Heat Tool to dry both panels.

Use the Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Markers to color the holly images and spritz the large Gorgeous Grunge splatter stamp with water to stamp over the panel, dry again with the Heat Tool.

Use the Faber-Castell® White Pitt Pen Marker to add highlights to the berries on both panels.

Cut the sentiment image into a 2” strip and use the ScallopTag Topper Punch to create the tag, round the ends with the Envelope Punch Board (also punching a piece of Whisper White cardstock in the same manner) and adhere the Whisper White “tag” behind the stamped holly tag.

Mount the die cut snowflakes behind the tag and set the tag aside for the moment.
Use the Simply Scored™ Scoring Tool to score along the top of the background panel, trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount again onto the Blackberry Bliss card base.

Add the tag to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Front view- curvature of the camera lens drives me crazy :-) !
Adhere the 3/8” Blackberry Bliss Stitched Satin Ribbon double bow to the top of the tag along with the die cut snowflake to the lower part of the tag.

Add the Silver Button along with the Large Silver Rhinestone to the center of the large snowflake to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Embellished Ornaments, Gorgeous Grunge (both Stampin’ Up!)

Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black, Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Stains- Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves; Stampin’ Write Markers- Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow; Faber-Castell® White Pitt Pen Marker

Paper: Whisper White, Blackberry Bliss

Accessories: Big Shot™, Memory Box™ Lindeman Snowflake Die,  Heat Tool, Craft Mat,  3/8” Blackberry Bliss Stitched Satin Ribbon, retired Silver Button, Large Rhinestone

CAS Christmas- Nature Gives to Every Time and Season

Hi Stampers!!

This Monochromatic Clean and Simple (CAS) card was created for the ‘Tis the Season TTS35 “A CampyChristmas” (I was inspired by the trees and the navy truck- the scene reminds me of camping out in the woods)  along with Splitcoaststampers’ CCC15 ChristmasCard Challenge, SCSCCJAN15 Challenge (JAN12 Something New) and USEIT2015 Challenge (the focal image stamp had not seen ink yet).

Again, if you have not had the chance to do so, I hope you will find the time to visit each of the sites/galleries- terrific inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the focal image using Night of Navy Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Trim around the image and mount onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Stamp the sentiment using Night of Navy Classic Ink onto the Whisper White background panel, trim and mount onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock, trim and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Add the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Memory Box Lindeman Snowflake Die to cut the snowflake from Whisper White cardstock.

Adhere the snowflake to the Designer Silver Basics Button and add a Large Rhinestone to the center of the button.

Mount the snowflake to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Beauty of the Season, Snowy Night (Hero Arts®)

Ink: Night of Navy

Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy

Accessories: Big Shot™, Memory Box Lindeman Snowflake Die, Desi gner Silver Basics Button, Large Rhinestone
