CAS Silver Winter Trees

Hi Friends!!

I hope you are having a great weekend!!  I had a chance to play in my stamp room and created several cards for some of my favorite online challenges.

If you have not already visited the above sites, I hope you will take a moment to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

Since the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge was showcasing Hero Arts Products, I decided to use a Hero Arts stamp that I had purchased months ago and have not had a chance to ink it up until this weekend.

To create this card:

De-static a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Embossing Buddy®.

Ink the Winter Trees stamp using Versamark™ Ink and stamp onto the Whisper White cardstock, apply Stampin’ Emboss® Silver Embossing Powder, heat set with the Heat Tool.

Trim the image and mount onto Brushed Silver cardstock, trim and mount onto Smoky Slate cardstock.

Stamp the sentiment from Peonies & Tulips (Power Poppy) using Smoky Slate Classic Ink onto a Whisper White cardstock panel, trim the panel and mount onto Smoky Slate card base.

Mount the Winter Tree image onto the card front using dimensional foam.

Add a few Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Winter Trees (Hero Arts), Peonies & Tulips (Power Poppy)

Ink:  Versamark™, Smoky Slate

Paper: Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Brushed Silver

CAS- Dream A Little

Hi Friends!!

I am still playing around with my Brusho® Crystal Colours and created a fun Clean and Simple (CAS) card for the Addicted to CAS #73 "Dream" Challenge along with the Splitcoaststampers’ MIX140 “Hope” Challenge as well as the USEIT2015 Challenge (I have owned this retired Stampin’ Up! set for many years and never inked it up yet as well as the Inkadinkado Bird stamp has never seen ink yet...too many stamps and not enough time-lol!!)..

If you have not visited the challenge sites yet, I hope you will find the time to do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Spritz a  piece of Whisper White cardstock with water and shake a few drops of Brilliant Red and Turquoise Brusho® Crystal Colours over the paper (spritzing with additional water as needed).  Turn the paper and allow the colors to run, dry with the Heat Tool.

De-static the cardstock using the Embossing Buddy®, stamp the bird image with Versamark™ , apply Stampin’ Emboss Black Embossing  and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Stamp the sentiment with Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink.

Use the Big Shot™ with the My Favorite Things™ (MFT) Stitched Rectangle Die to cut out the image and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Trim a piece of Whisper White cardstock, mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and adhere to the Whisper White card base.
Add the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

ODBDSLC232 Cross of Christ

Hi Again Stampers!

Here is the second card that I created last night reflecting on the sacrifice that Christ made for each of us, the free gift of His Salvation and the celebration of our Risen Lord and Savior!!

I used a retired Our Daily Bread Designs set (the cross image is still available) and this is my second card entered into the Our Daily Bread Designs ODBDSLC232 Anything Goes! Challenge as well as the Splitcoaststampers USEIT2015 Challenge (I have had this stamp set for years and have not had a chance to ink it up yet).

If you have not had a chance to do so, I hope you will find the time to visit the ODBD site- they always have gorgeous Design Team samples and wonderful inspiration from their gallery!

To create this card:

Using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, stamp the nail cross image from the ODBD set, He Is Risen stamp set onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the image using Smoky Slate and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write markers.
Carefully cut out the cross image and set aside.

Stamp the sentiment onto a piece of Vellum using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink.

Allow the ink to dry and cut out the sentiment along with a piece of Whisper White cardstock for the backing frame using the Big Shot™ with the MFT Stitched Rectangle die.

Mount the vellum sentiment to the Whisper White Stitched frame using Two Way Glue.

Trim a piece of ODBD Chalkboard Collection paper to 4” x 5 ¼”, adhere a piece of Vellum to the front of the Chalkboard Collection paper and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Use the retired Photo Corner Punch to punch out several corners from Basic Black cardstock (I trimmed a few by hand to be smaller than the punch), adhere the corners to the card front along with the sentiment and add the Pewter Brads.

Mount the vellum-covered Chalkboard panel onto the Cherry Cobbler card base.

Add the “fussy-cut” cross using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: ODBD He Is Risen

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Cherry Cobbler and Smoky Slate

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler; Vellum, ODBD Chalkboard Collection

Accessories: Big Shot™, MFT Stitched Rectangle Die,  retired Photo Corner Punch, retired Pewter Brads

Snowflake Monochromatic Faux Silk- Two Cards from One Panel :-)

Hi Again Stampers!

Here are two additional cards that I created using the Merry Monday #149Monochromatic Blue Challenge for inspiration along with the Splitcoaststampers’CCC15 Christmas Card Challenge and the F4A261 Lucky to Have Tutorials Challenge

I had received a gift bag this past Christmas with this beautiful blue and white tissue paper, and of course, I had to save the paper for use in Faux SilkTechnique :-).  This monochromatic blue color challenge seemed to be the perfect excuse for me to try this technique and with one 4 ¼’ x 5 ½” panel, these two cards were the result...

Again, if you have not had time to visit the challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- great ideas and inspiration from all!

To create the Faux Silk panel:

Using the Splitcoaststampers’ tutorial here, apply Mod Podge™ to a piece of Whisper White cardstock, place the crumpled up tissue paper over the cardstock and sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds over the moistened tissue paper.

Once the layer was dry, cut the tissue paper into panels to create the cards.

This card was difficult to photograph- it is very sparkly IRL :-)
To create Card #1:

Cut the 2” wide panel into four sections and mount onto Night of Navy cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock, trim and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Mount the four Faux Silk sections onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Stamp the sentiment from Brushstroke Angel using Night of Navy Classic Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and create the banner points using the Hexagon Punch, mount onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and use the Banner Punch again to create the banner points.

Mount the sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Adhere the retired All is Calm Snowflake Embellishments with the retired Silver Cord.

Add the Rhinestones to the centers of the embellishments as well as a few of the tissue paper snowflakes to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Brushstroke Angel

Ink: Night of Navy

Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy; Tissue Paper from my stash

Accessories: Big Shot™. Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Hexagon Punch, Rhinestones, Dazzling Diamonds, retired All is Calm Snowflake Embellishments, retired Silver Cord

To create Card #2:

Cut the Faux Silk panel into a 2” strip and punch the top using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.  Cut another piece from Night of Navy cardstock and punch the top with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch as well.   Trim the Night of Navy to length and mount behind the Faux Silk panel.

Add a piece of crocheted white lace at the bottom of the tag and adhere a scrap piece of Night of Navy cardstock to hide the seam of the lace.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock, trim once more and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Add the tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.  Create a bow with the Bow Builder Punch using Night of Navy cardstock and adhere to the top of the tag.  Add the retired Frosted Finishes Embellishment to the center of the bow.

Stamp the sentiment from Christmas Blessings using Night of Navy Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, trim to 2” wide and adhere to the tag.

Add the Rhinestones to the bottom of the tag to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Christmas Blessings

Ink: Night of Navy

Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy; Tissue Paper from my stash

Accessories: Big Shot™. Northern Flurry Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Rhinestones, Dazzling Diamonds, retired Frosted Finishes Embellishment, crochet lace from my stash

Happy 15th Birthday- A Vintage Auto for a Fabulous Nephew!

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to share a Mixed Media card that I created this past weekend for the FM194 FridayMashup! Challenge along with the Seize the Birthday 011515 Sketch Challenge and the USEIT2015 Splitcoaststampers Challenge (the Antique Autos stamp set is from 2001 and has rarely been used).

I decided not to "MASHITUP" since we do not have any infants in our immediate family and used the colors only.

I wanted to create a special card for my wonderful nephew (I sure hope he is not checking my blog this week since his celebration with on Saturday :-))- I cannot believe that he is 15 already and wants to apply for his driver's license-time flies when you are having fun!

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites yet, again, I would encourage you to do so- they all have wonderful Design Teams and tremendous inspiration from their galleries each week!

To create this card:

Using the Embossing Buddy®, de-static a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamp the auto image from the retired Antique Autos set using Versamark™ ink.

Apply Stampin’ Emboss® Early Espresso Embossing Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Window Frame Collection Framelits™ to cut out the image and also cut another frame from Early Espresso cardstock (using the same size framelit™ as the embossed image).

Split the Early Espresso frame in half and mount behind the focal image.

To create the collage panel for the vertical strip of the sketch, ink a few of the remaining stamps in the set using Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango and Tempting Turquoise Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White  (masking the images to overlap as you stamp them onto the cardstock).

Trim the panel and adhere to a piece of Early Espresso cardstock using a sewing machine.

Use Ranger® Tim Holtz® Old Paper and Vintage Photo Distress Ink to “antique” the collage panel as well as the automobile image.

Use the Distressing Tool to distress the strips of Tangerine Tango Designer Series Paper (DSP) and add the strips to a piece of Early Espresso cardstock using a sewing machine.   Add a bit of Ranger® Tim Holtz® Old Paper and Vintage Photo Distress Ink to distress the edges and tone down the Tangerine Tango color.

Add the vertical collage panel and focal image to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Ink the sentiment using Early Espresso Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and create the banner points using the Hexagon Punch.  Adhere the sentiment to a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and create the banner points for the Early Espresso layer using the Hexagon Punch as well.

Add the sentiment to the lower portion of the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Use Metallic™ Art Titanium Teal Acrylic Paint to paint the chipboard numbers (from my stash from years ago- do not know the manufacturer’s name).

Add the chipboard numbers to the card front along with the retired Aged Copper Hodgepodge Hardware and ¼” Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain Ribbon to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Antique Autos (2001), Bloom with Hope

Ink: Versamark™,  Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise; Ranger® Tim Holtz® Old Paper and Vintage Photo Distress Ink

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Early Espresso; Tangerine Tango DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Window Frame Collection Framelits™, Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® Early Espresso Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Sponge Daubers, sewing machine, Aged Copper Hodgepodge Hardware, ¼” Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain Ribbon, chipboard numbers, Metallic™ Art Titanium Teal Acrylic Paint

Thanks again for visiting- I hope all of you have a fantastic week!!

CMCC55 CAS Always Cherish Every Moment

Hi Stampers!!

I had a great time stamping last night and created four cards for some of my favorite challenges.

This Clean and Simple (CAS) card was created for the CMCC55 ColourMe! Challenge along with the USEIT2015 Challenge at Splitcoaststampers (the stamp set and rub-on sentiment retired years ago and I have not used them recently :-)).

Again, if you have not had the chance to do so, I hope you will find the time to visit each of the sites/galleries- such wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the stamp image using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Color the image using a AquaPainter™ with Hello Honey Classic Ink for the background, Cajun Craze for the berries/petals and Mossy Meadow for the leaves.  Once the watercolor has dried, use Stampin’ Write markers in the same colors to create shadows and definition.

Add a few highlights to the berries/petals using a White Gel Pen.

Trim the image leaving a Whisper White border (if you did not color outside the lines as I did- lol!) or trim close to the image, mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and trim again to create the border.

Apply the rub-on sentiment to a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Trim the sentiment panel and adhere to a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock, trim again and adhere to a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock, trim and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Add the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Nature’s Wonders
