I love the floral images in Elements of Style and thought I would combine this set with an autumn color.  This is a very simple and quick card to make- I hope you like it!

Hi Stampers!

I am working on a few Christmas cards to highlight some of the new sets in the Holiday Mini for my workshop later today.

Happy Birthday ColourQ!

Hi Stampers!

This week ColourQ is celebrating their very 1st Birthday- Congratulations ColourQ!

They have been providing 52 weeks of great color inspiration and this week they have decided to combine a sketch challenge with your choice of a previous week’s ColourQ combination from their first year (see (http://colourq.blogspot.com/ for more details).
I needed to make two cards for my twin nieces who just turned 15 this week, so what better way to celebrate than to use the sketch/color combination from the ColourQ's birthday week:-)

I love their color combinations and chose CQC26 since lime green and purple are the favorite colors of both of my nieces.  Of course, they are also “horse crazy” so I used a SU! retired favorite set of mine- Bareback for the focal image.  I changed the colors on each one to try to make them a bit different:-)

A bit of sponging, the Big Shot with a few SU! embossing folders, pearls and ribbon were all it took to make both cards in a jiffy!

Stamp Sets:  Bareback (retired), Short & Sweet
Cardstock:  Certainly Celery, Lovely Lilac, Lavender Lace, Bermuda Bay and Whisper White
Ink: Lovely Lilac and Bermuda Bay

Accessories: Big Shot, Finial Press, Square Lattice and Vintage Wallpaper EF, Word Window and Modern Label Punches, Pearls and 5/8” White Satin Ribbon

Thanks again for visiting and all of your encouragement:-)  I hope you enjoy the weekend- we are expecting lovely weather tomorrow- God Bless!

PP17 Welcome Baby

Hi Stampers!

This week has been extremely busy preparing for a ministry stamping opportunity with our Awana 5th and 6th grade girls (each girl was able to create a card within 30 minutes) and I am still preparing for a Christmas workshop on the same day as my twin niece's 15th birthday celebration!  I have been stamping but not able to post yet :-)

I wanted to participate in at least one challenge this week so I decided to create a quick, simple card for this week’s PP17 challenge with The Paper Players (see http://www.thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/) and used the same colors from an earlier post- Stamping411 with the Operator’s  Color Inspiration #140 (see http://www.stamping411.blogspot.com/ ) – when you have a chance, check out both sites for more details and great samples!

Isn’t that baby girl precious?

I decided to pull out the jumbo wheel Baby Tees and make a Welcome Baby card (this photo turned out a bit darker- the pink is much lighter IRL).

The card was very quick to create- a little stamping, punching, embossing and you’re finished!

You could use the same layout for a boy- just change the colors to Bashful Blue or Certainly Celery.

Stamp Sets:  Baby Tees Jumbo Wheel, Short and Sweet
Cardstock: Basic Black, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories:  Big Shot, Sizzix Dot EF, Eyelet Border Punch, SU! Pink Pirouette Marker, 5/8” Black Satin Ribbon

Thanks again for visiting- I hope you like this card!  Have a great week- you are all such an inspiration and blessing to me:-)

Friends Never Fade with the CCMC117 Inspiration Challenge

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to create a card for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary CCMC117 Photo Inspiration Challenge (see http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com) along with the SSC170 Sketch Challenge from Stamping411 with the Operators (http://www.stamping411.blogspot.com/  .

I love this sketch and this birthday cake has so many details!

I decided to focus on some of the colors versus the birthday theme and chose to ink up my Friends Never Fade stamp set.

This card utilizes the emboss resist technique on the new Blushing Bride Hostess Level I Designer Paper.  I stamped the floral image from the set with Versamark ink first, then directly into Cajun Craze before applying the Clear EP.

Using a sponge dauber, I applied additional Blushing Bride ink onto the embossed images to soften the design on the DP and before running the Blushing Bride Cardstock through the Big Shot, I sprayed the cardstock with alcohol (70%) to achieve a deeper impression.

I only had the larger SU! pearls left (my new order will arrive on Wed) so I may replace these pearls with the 3mm size.  The ribbon is from my stash and matches the Cajun Craze ink perfectly.

Stamp Sets:  Friends Never Fade
Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Cajun Craze
Ink: Versamark, Blushing Bride, Cajun Craze
Accessories:  Big Shot, Finial Press EF, Sponge Daubers, Heat Gun, Clear EP, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Texturz Backgrounds I, Pearls, 5/8” Satin Ribbon from my stash

I hope  you enjoy this card- I had fun making it!  Have a great week and thanks again for visiting and leaving a comment :-)

Another Upsy Daisy with the PPA61 Sketch Challenge

I know that I will be very busy this week getting ready for a workshop, my niece's 15th birthday and stamping with my Awana 5th & 6th Grade girls, so I decided to make one more card using the PPA61 sketch challenge (see http://www.palspaperarts.com/ ).  I can always take a nap tomorrow after church :-)

I used the emboss resist technique along with sponge daubers with Early Espresso, Riding Hood Red and Pumpkin Pie.

Stamp Sets:  Upsy Daisy, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Early Espresso, Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories:  Big Shot, Finial Press EF, Sponge Daubers, Heat Gun, Clear EP, Scallop Trim Border and Photo Corner Punches, Color Spritzer Tool, Early Espresso Marker, Antique Brad, Pearls, 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon

Thanks again for visiting and for all of your encouragment!

CAS85 Upsy Daisy

While I had the Upsy Daisy set out, I decided to create a couple of cards using the fall colors for the Clean and Simple (CAS) Challenge from Splitcoast (see http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=all&si=CAS85&what=keywords for their gallery submissions) along with the new SUO Challenge #2 Big Shot (see http://suochallenges.com/?p=36).

The first card uses the emboss resist technique along with sponge daubers with Early Espresso, Riding Hood Red and Tangerine Tango.

Stamp Sets:  Upsy Daisy, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Ink: Early Espresso, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango
Accessories:  Big Shot, Finial Press EF, Sponge Daubers, Word Window and Modern Label Punch, 5-in-1 Distressing Tool, Color Spritzer Tool, Early Espresso Marker, 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon.

The second card uses the same set but instead of emboss resist, I punched the Very Vanilla circle out with the new 2 ½” XL Circle punch, sponged the colors with the sponge daubers and then stamped the Upsy Daisy in Early Espresso.

I used the new embossing folder, Elegant Lines, and half of a previously embossed Top Note die cut and some more of that luscious Early Espresso Satin Ribbon.

Stamp Sets:  Upsy Daisy,  Heard From The Heart
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Ink: Early Espresso, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango
Accessories:  Big Shot, Elegant Lines and Square Lattice EF, Sponge Daubers, Color Spritzer Tool, Early Espresso Marker, 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon.

Thanks again for visiting!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope all of you are able to take time to have some fun stamping- it is so therapeutic!

PPA61 and CC288 Best Wishes

I decided to create a card using the colors for the CC288 Splitcoast Color Combination (see http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=all&si=CC288&what=keywords for more gallery submissions) and the PPA61 sketch challenge (see http://www.palspaperarts.com/ for more details and other great samples).

Even though these colors are so soft and pastel (they would make a great baby card- I see another project on the horizon:-) , I decided to try a masking technique with sponge daubers and the Upsy Daisy set.

I wanted to make a very quick card so I did not add a lot of details.  The Blushing Bride layer was embossed with the Finial Press EF, but before embossing I used the brayer to ink up the inside top layer of the embossing folder with Marina Mist.

Stamp Sets:  Upsy Daisy, Oval All
Cardstock: Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Always Artichoke, Marina Mist
Ink: Always Artichoke, Blushing Bride, Marina Mist
Accessories:  Big Shot, Finial Press and Square Lattice EF, Sponge Daubers, Medium Oval and Scallop Oval Punch, Antique Brad, Pearls, White Taffeta and 5/8” Marina Mist Satin Ribbon.

Thanks again for visiting- it truly blesses my day!
