PPA253 Four Feathers Congratulations :-)

Hi Stampers!

I had a great time stamping with friends today- love it when we can get together!!

After dinner this evening, I had the chance to design a card using the fun PPA253 Pals Paper Arts Sketch using a soon-to-be retired stamp set, Four Feathers.

If you have not had a chance to do so, I hope you will find the time to visit the Pals Paper Arts site- such wonderful inspiration from their Design Team as well as their challenge gallery!

To create this card:

Create the fun background layer from Back to Black Designer Series Paper (DSP) and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Adhere the background layer onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto the Basic Black card base.

Trim a piece of Tempting Turquoise DSP, round the corners with the Envelope Punch Board and emboss with the Big Shot™ and the Arrows Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Adhere to a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim and round the corners with the Envelope Punch Board.

Use the Sanding Block to lightly sand the DSP to bring out the white core.

Ink the feather stamps using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Feather Framelits™ to cut out the feathers, trim a bit closer to the edge of the feathers, cut into each to create a more realistic feather edge and mount the three feathers onto the embossed Tempting Turquoise panel.
Create the Whisper White bow using the Bow Builder Punch, add the Tempting Turquoise button (with Basic Black cardstock strands as “thread) to the center and add the bow to the panel.

Ink the sentiment using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and create the banner points using the Banner Punch, mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and use the Banner Punch to create the banner points.

Add the sentiment to the bottom of the panel and mount the panel onto Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamps: Four Feathers, Express Yourself

Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black; Back to Black and Tempting Turquoise DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™, Feather Framelits™, Arrows Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Sanding Block, Punches- Banner and Bow Builder,  Tempting Turquoise button

SUO119 Trust God- A Fun Fold with A Color Challenge :-)

Hi Stampers!

It’s time for the new SUO119 “Fun Folds” Challenge and I decided to use the Gate Fold technique for my “fun fold” and incorporated the JustUs Girls JUGS285 Color Challenge.

I hope you will find the time to check the both challenge sites and create your own Stampin’ Up! “Fun Fold” project!!

To create this card:
Create the card base from Basic Black cardstock- I used the Splitcoaststampers Gate Fold Card tutorial located here for my base.
Layer the pieces of Back to Black Designer Series Paper (DSP) to the front two panels and cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to fit the inside main panel.
Ink the flower and leaf image from Choose Happiness with Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp repeatedly onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock as well as onto the Whisper White interior card panel (mask the flowers for the panel as you stamp).
Ink the bird image with Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Acetate, turn the Acetate over so that the wet ink is on the bottom and press onto the Whisper White cardstock (for a “mirror” image).  Use the Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker to darken the bird image.
Color the flowers using the Calypso Coral Light and
Showing the view when opened from the side :-)
Medium Blendabilities™ markers and use the Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write marker to add shadows to the leaves.  I added additional Basic Black to the stamped areas to darken, but this step may not be needed (I think I need to re-ink my Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink pad- note to self :-))    Add a few highlights to the center with the White Gel Pen.
Carefully cut out (“fussy-cut”) three of the flowers and leaf stems along with the bird image.
Stamp the sentiment from Trust God and the border from Choose Happiness below the sentiment with Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.
Use the Big Shot™ with the Chalk Talk Framelits™ to cut out the sentiment (cut another Chalk Talk Framelit™ the same size from Basic Black cardstock as well).
Cut the Basic Black frame in half and adhere behind the sentiment.
Showing the view with the inside panel :-)
Mount the sentiment to the left “gate” panel, add the flowers using Stampin’ Dimensionals®, positioning the lower right hand flower to be used as the closure for the card.  Adhere the leaf stems behind the flowers and add the bird image to the lower left of the sentiment.
Stamp the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge and add a bit of “splatter” to the interior panel, mount the panel to the interior to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets:  Choose Happiness, Trust God, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink; Stampin’ Blendabilities™  Calypso Coral Light and Medium Marker, Stampin’ Write Smoky Slate Marker, White Gel Pen
Paper/Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Back to Black DSP
Accessories: Big Shot™, Chalk Talk Framelits™

Thanks again for taking the time to visit – I hope that you will create your own Stampin’ Up! Only project and play along with our “Fun Fold” challenge!

Clean and Layered- Sending Peaceful Thoughts

Hi Again Stampers!

As I created this weekend, I wanted to participate in The CardConcept #21 Sunflower Challenge (I would describe this card style as Clean and Layered :-)) and used a slight modification of the Freshly Made Sketches  FMS159 Challenge (love this sketch!).

Again, if you have not stopped by either site yet, I hope you will have time to check out the challenge sites- great Design Team samples and so much inspiration!!

To create this Clean and Layered (CAL) card:

Open a blank document in My Digital Studio (MDS), position the Sunflower image (re-sizing) and insert the script (3 separate images) from Strength and Hope behind the sunflower.   Adjust the opacity to 70% for the script and move it to the “back” of the sunflower image.

Insert the sentiment from Peaceful Thoughts in another area on the page (so you can punch it out separately from the sunflower image) and print the arranged images onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the sunflower using the Light and Medium Daffofil Delight and Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blendabilities™ markers.   Add a few shadows with the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker, trim the panel and mount onto Basic Black cardstock.

Punch the sentiment out with the XL Oval Punch and layer onto two ovals also punched out of Basic Black cardstock using the XL Oval Punch.

Create a 5 ½” square card base from Whisper White cardstock and mount a 5 ½” square panel of Basic Black cardstock onto the card front.

Create a 5 ¼” x 5 ¼” square background panel using a piece of Back to Black Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Whisper White cardstock with a strip of Basic Black cardstock along the exposed edge of the DSP.

Mount the sunflower panel onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add the layered sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals® and adhere a few Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Sunflower, Strength and Hope,  Peaceful Thoughts(all from MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Stampin’ Blendabilities™- Light and Medium Daffodil Delight, Light Crumb Cake

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Back to Black DSP

Accessories: XL Oval Punch, Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you have a fantastic weekend!!

CAS Bloom with Hope- Two Challenges in One

Hi Again Stampers!

I hope all of you are having a great week so far!  I decided to take a break from the craft room organization project and create a card using the FabFri52 Color Challenge along with the #95 CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge.

Again, I hope you have the time to stop by both sites to check out the great inspiration from the Design Teams as well as the other entries!

To create this card:

Ink the Bloom with Hope stamp using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.  Create a mask from scrap paper or from repositionable note paper, mask the image and stamp again- repeat to stamp the line of flowers.

Use an AquaPainter™ with Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink for the blossoms and Tangelo Twist Classic Ink for the background.  Use a Stampin’ Write Basic Black marker to add lines to the stem images and a retired White Watercolor Pencil to add a few highlights to the petals.

Ink the retired En Francais background stamp with Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp off onto scrap paper. Position the floral image over the background stamp and use your fingers to apply portions of the stamp to the image.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Window Frames Collection Framelits™ to cut out the image as well as another frame from Basic Black cardstock.   Mount the focal image onto the Basic Black frame and trim the top portion off.  Add the scrap piece of Back to Black Designer Series Paper (DSP) along with a strip of Basic Black cardstock.

Place a piece of Whisper White cardstock over the En Francais background stamp (do not re-ink) and again, lightly press certain areas with your fingers to randomly stamp the background image onto the Whisper White cardstock.   Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Add the strip of Basic Black cardstock to the top area,  add the scrap strip of Blackberry Bliss cardstock to the center and add the small strip of Basic Black to finish off the vertical element of the sketch (I flipped the sketch to a landscape orientation).

Use an AquaPainter™ along with a Sponge Dauber to apply Tangelo Twist Classic Ink over the edges of the Whisper White card base.

Add the layered background panel and mount the floral focal image.

Stamp the sentiment from the retired Express Yourself hostess set onto Whisper White cardstock and cut the banner points using the Hexagon Punch.  Mount onto Basic Black cardstock (creating the banner points as well with the Hexagon Punch) and mount onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add Pearls to the sentiment layer to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Bloom with Hope (2014-2015 Hostess Set), Express Yourself (retired 2013-2014 Hostess Set), retired En Francais

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist

Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Back to Black DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Window Frames Collection Framelits™, AquaPainter™,  Sponge Dauber, Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you have a great Tuesday!

Add this panel to the Dictionary stamped background, trim and mount onto a piece of Basic Black, trim and mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto the Basic Black card base.

Stamp the image from World of Dreams using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, punch out using the 2 ½” Circle Punch and mount onto a Basic Black cardstock circle (also punched from the 2 ½” Circle Punch, split into two and spread to allow just a part of the black to show).

Punch the sentiment out using the Large Oval (I had this sentiment previously printed from My Digital Studio (MDS)) and mount onto another oval punched from Basic Black cardstock using the Large Oval Punch.   Add the sentiment to the triangular area of the sketch.

Add the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

I hope you will take the time (if you have not done so already) to visit their site to check out all of the other Design Team entries as well as the gallery- wonderful inspiration from all!!

To create this card:

Use the 1" Square Punch to punch out squares from each piece of the Back to Black Designer Series Paper (DSP).

You Bring Out the Best in Everyone- An Inspiration Photo and Sketch Challenge :-)

Hi Again Stampers!

Here is another card that I had an opportunity to create last night using the PP201 Paper Players Sketch Challenge along with the Just Add Ink JAI219 Just AddInspiration Photo (although I am too late to link up to the JAI219 Challenge- still struggling to figure out the deadline time in Australia to EST-lol!).

For some reason as I designed this card, I neglected to use a circle for the sentiment- usually you can substitute shapes on a sketch challenge so I hope this banner for the sentiment versus a circle will not disqualify me :-)

Again, if you have not had a chance to check out both sites yet, I would encourage you to do so- great job by all!!

To create this card:

Using the Embossing Buddy®, de-static a piece of the Back to Black Designer Series Paper (DSP) and stamp the World of Dreams image using Versamark™ ink.  Apply Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.

Trim the DSP panel and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.  Adhere the panel onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and adhere to a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Create the banners using strips from Back to Black DSP and Moonlight DSP stack (the Hello Honey color is a scrap from the Moonlight DSP stack that I had previously embossed using the Big Shot™ with the new Zig Zag Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and lightly sanded) using the Hexagon Punch and layering each onto Basic Black cardstock (punching the points again with the Hexagon Punch).

Add to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.  Add a strip of Basic Black cardstock with a few Rhinestones at the top of the banners.

Stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock using Memento™ Tuxedo Black ink, trim and create banner points using the Hexagon Punch. Mount onto Basic Black cardstock (again I used a scrap piece a bit smaller than the sentiment layer, creating a banner with the Hexagon Punch) and add a few of the embossed scraps from the Hello Honey DSP that I had left over from the banner above.

Add the sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add the strip of Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: World of Dreams

Ink: Versamark™, Memento™ Tuxedo Black

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Designer Series Paper- Back to Black, Moonlight DSP Stack

Accessories:  Big Shot™,  Zig Zag Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder,  Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool,   Sanding Block, Rhinestones

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by!  I have one more card to share from late night’s crafting session- hope you have a chance to visit again soon!
