TCC109 Let Us Love

Hi Friends!

Isn’t this inspiration photo bright and cheerful?

I love the colors (especially the hot pink) and since I do not own any pineapple or tropical "cute-sy" type stamps, I decided to use the colors to create a "simple" Mixed Media card (the main panel is just one layer, so to me, that is simple) :-)

Since this card is "simple", I will be linking to the As You See It #194 “Simple is As Simple Does”Challenge and am also participating with the Word Art Wednesday #374-#375 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

As I mentioned above, the main panel is just one layer and to me, that is simple,  A bit of heat embossing, watercoloring, masking and the card was done!  Without dimension is "simple" to me :-)

If you have not had a chance to visit us at The Card Concept or the other challenge sites yet, I hope you will find time to do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool.   Using Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, stamp the floral image from Wild Rose and the sentiment from God Verses 2, both from Divinity Designs formerly Our Daily Bread Designs)  onto the prepared panel, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Once the embossing has cooled, watercolor the flowers using water-based markers and watercolor pencils (see colors that I used below in the card recipe).

2). Create a mask for the flowers by stamping the image again onto a piece of sticky note paper (or scrap paper).  Fussy-cut the image from the sticky note paper and cover the stamped image on the panel.

3). Ink the retired Chalkboard Word Collage (Divinity Designs) background stamp with Tim Holtz® Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink and stamp over the entire panel.  Spritz lightly with water, tamp with a dry paper towel and gently wipe off any excess ink from the stamped images.  Heat set the background lightly with a heat tool.

4). Die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto a piece of black cardstock, trim the black cardstock and mount onto the white card base.

5).  Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the flower petals to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Wild Rose, God Verses 2, retired Chalkboard Word Collage (Divinity Designs)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Zig® Clean Color Real Brush Markers- Lt. Pink, Pink, Yellow, Green; Stampin’ Write Markers- Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, retired Pink Passion, Wild Wasabi; Tim Holtz® Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide, Derwent® Watercolor Pencils- Burnt Cadium, Oriental Blue; Spectrum Noir™ Clear  Glitter Pen

Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black

Tools/Accessories:  Embossing Buddy®, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, MFT Stitched Rectangle A2 Set 2 Dies, AquaPainter

Rise and Shine- Give God the Glory

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing another Mixed Media card featuring the ODBD Rise and Shine Stamp Set with the new ODBD Beverage Cup Dies from the ODBD September 2016 Release along with the ODBD Chalkboard Word Collage stamp and other ODBD Dies from previous releases.

I love this sentiment from the ODBD Rise and Shine stamp set- "Rise and Shine and Give God the Glory!"!!  So perfect that He should receive the All of the Glory, not me... for without Christ, I can do nothing!

I have incorporated a few of my favorite online challenges in the design- the Word Art Wednesday #248-#249 “Anything Goes” Challenge, the Retro Rubber RTS47 “Anything Goes” Challenge (the ODBD Chalkboard Word Collage stamp is several years old) and the Alphabet Challenge “O for Oval” Challenge.

In addition to the gorgeous galleries at the challenge sites, if you have not had a chance to stop by the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog yet, I encourage you to do so- fabulous inspiration from my Design Team “Sisters” (affectionately known as the “Breadbasket” or “Breadsticks”).

To create this card:

Die cut and emboss a piece of white along with a piece of denim cardstock with the ODBD Flourished Star Pattern Die, cut both pieces in half and stamp the ODBD Chalkboard Word Collage stamp with a soft gray ink onto the pieces.

Mount the two panels onto a piece of cherry red cardstock, trim and mount onto the denim card base.

Die cut and emboss a piece of white cardstock with the ODBD Trellis Die and adhere to the card front.

Add a strip of the red patterned paper from the ODBD Americana Quilt Collection 6x6 Paper Pad to cover the seam (I used a piece of scrap from my stash :-)).

Ink the sentiment from the ODBD Rise and Shine stamp set using the omitting technique (I used a cherry red and denim blue water-based marker), “huff” onto the stamp to re-moisten the ink and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock.

Die cut and emboss the sentiment panel with the ODBD Vintage Labels Dies and use the die to sponge light gray ink over the center area.

Die cut and emboss a piece of cherry red cardstock with the ODBD Vintage Border Dies, center and adhere the sentiment die cut and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Cut and emboss the coffee cup components with the ODBD Beverage Cup Dies- I used the ODBD Americana Quilt Collection 6x6 Paper Pad for the coffee cup, cherry red cardstock for the cup wrapper, lid, straw and cherry and white cardstock for the foam and heart.

Assemble the cup and sponge light gray ink over the edges.

Mount the assembled coffee cup die cut to the card front with dimensional foam and finish off the card by applying shimmer to the heart and foam with a clear glitter pen (it is so hard to photograph this but the shimmer looks great IRL) along with a pearl to the center of the ODBD Trellis Die.

I hope this card has inspired you to dig into Rise and Shine and Give God the Glory as well as create something with the talent He has given to you :-)  Thanks again for visiting- hugs and have a blessed week, my friends!

So Very Thankful- A CAS Card for Three Challenges :-)

Hi Stampers!

This card was created for the Pals Paper Arts PPA222 Color Challenge along with the CAS(E) This Sketch CTS95 Challenge and the Our Daily Bread Designs ODBDSLC214 Fall Inspired Challenge (although I am too late to link to the ODBD Challenge, I still want to give them credit for the inspiration :-))

If you have not already visited the challenge sites, I hope you will find the time to do so- there are so many wonderful examples from the Design Teams and the galleries!

To create this card:

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, stamp the Gorgeous Grunge splatter and line images in Early Espresso, So Saffron and Calypso Coral Classic Ink.

Using Early Espresso Classic Ink
stamp the sentiment from Pretty Patches: Apple, trim the panel and mount onto the Very Vanilla card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Ink the background stamps using Calypso Coral, Early Espresso and So Saffron Classic Ink and stamp onto Very Vanilla cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Maple Leaf Framelit™ to cut out the images from the background stamped panels.

Use a Sponge Dauber with So Saffron Classic Ink to add a bit of So Saffron to the Calypso Coral leaf as well as the So Saffron leaf and sponge Early Espresso Classic Ink around the edges of all three leaves (adding a bit more Early Espresso to the central leaf toning down the Very Vanilla cardstock).

Mount each of the leaves onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals™ to finish off the card.
