TCC74 Congrats!

Hi Friends!

It’s time for The Card Concept #74 “Freshly Elegant” Challenge!  Wow, I love the elegance of this photo with the pinks, black striped pillow and Eiffel Tower bookends as well as the lips, ampersands and all of the gold!

I am also participating on the  CAS Mix-Up May Challenge - Stamping, Splatter and Your Choice (Watercolor, Washi Tape, Nuvo Crystal Drops) and the Inkspirational #135 "Urban" Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to do so, I hope you will find the time to check out the rest of the wonderful Design Team cards at The Card Concept- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Apply Spun Sugar and Festive Berry Distress Stain onto a craft mat, lightly spritz with water and place a piece of white cardstock into the ink.  Dry with a Heat Tool, re-apply as needed to achieve the result you desire.

2). Trim the panel to 4” x 5 ¼”, add the various Washi Tape pieces to the lower portion of the card front.  Mount onto a piece of black cardstock and adhere to a white card base.

3). Using the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge, stamp onto the card front with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and the smaller splatter stamp with archival black ink.

4). Die cut the Eiffel Tower and the Congrats sentiment from black cardstock and again from gold foil.  Layer the gold foil on top of the black cardstock, mount the sentiment directly onto the card front and use dimensional foam to mount the Eiffel Tower.

5). To finish off the card, add Pale Gold Nuvo Crystal Drops to the card (a few were “smooshed” to create a splatter effect as well).

Stamp Sets:  Gorgeous Grunge (Stampin’ Up!)

Ink/Mediums: Archival Black Ink; Distress Stains- Spun Sugar, Festive Berries; Spun Sugar Distress Ink; Pale Gold Nuvo Crystal Drops

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black

Accessories: Big Shot™, MFT Die-namics™ Eiffel Tower Die,  Tim Holtz® Celebration Words: Script Dies, Washi Tape- retired Stampin’ Up!

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by!  I hope all of you have a wonderful week and you will be able to join us for the #74 “Freshly Elegant” Challenge at The Card Concept!

Congrats- One Word Challenge

Hi Again Friends!

Today I will be sharing three additional cards that I designed for the April 2016 MISSION- Cards for A Cause at Splitcoaststampers (Homeless Veterans Program at Miami  VA Medical Center- see details here) and all three cards use the Cape Cod designer paper from The Paper Studio (this first card was super easy to create since the designer paper does all of the “work” :-)).

This card will also be linked to the Splitcoaststampers’ Free For All F4A304 “One Word Wonder” Challenge as well as the USEIT2016 Challenge (I had not inked up the retired 2015 SAB set Simply Wonderful stamp set until now).

I hope you will take the time to visit the above linked sites- so much inspiration!

To create this card:

Trim and distress the edges of the seahorse design from The Paper Studio, add shadows to the seahorse using the Stampin’ Write Sahara Sand Marker, mount onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and adhere to a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock.

Add the 1” Dark Navy grosgrain ribbon and layer the 5/8” Rust Satin Ribbon over the grosgrain (wrapping the edges and adhering to the back).

Mount the entire panel onto the Whisper White card base.

Ink the sentiment from the retired Simply Wonderful stamp set with Stāz-On® Midnight Blue Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, cut out with the Big Shot™ using the Rose Garden Thinlits™.

Cut another frame with the Rose Garden Thinlit™, cut in half and mount behind the sentiment label.

Ink the Timeless Textures stamp with Sahara Sand Classic Ink and repeatedly stamp over the sentiment.

Mount the sentiment to the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Simply Wonderful (retired SAB), Timeless Textures

Ink: Stāz-On® Midnight Blue, Sahara Sand; Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker

Paper: Whisper White, Cajun Craze, Night of Navy; Cape Cod Designer Paper (The Paper Studio)

Accessories: Big Shot™, Rose Garden Thinlits™, 1 “ Dark Navy Grosgrain, 5/8” Rust Satin Ribbon, Distressing Tool

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- I will be sharing the other two cards from this paper collection shortly.

CAS Just Beachy :-)

Hi Again Stampers!!

Here is another very quick card that I created using the CQC250 ColourQ Challenge along with the Splitcoaststampers CAS282 Day at the Beach and TLC491 And SheScores! Challenges :-)

Again, I hope you have a chance to visit the above sites to check out the Design Team samples and other entries- wonderful inspiration from all!!

To create this Clean and Simple (CAS) card:

Ink the flip flop image from the retired set, Just Beachy using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Color the image using the Stampin’ Blendabilities™ Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo and Neutrals Collections.  Use the Stampin’ Write Crumb Cake Marker as well in the area and trim around the image  (for the life of me, I cannot stamp a straight sentiment on a one layer card so I had to trim- lol!) :-)

Ink the sentiment from the retired set, Congrats using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut out the banner points using the Hexagon Punch.

Using the Simply Scored™ Tool, score the lines on another piece of Whisper White cardstock and adhere to the Whisper White card base.

Add the images to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Less than 10 minutes and you are finished!!

Stamp Sets: Just Beachy, Congrats (both retired)

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black, Stampin’ Blendabilities™- Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo and Neutrals Collections,  Stampin’ Write Crumb Cake marker

Paper: Whisper White

Accessories: Hexagon Punch

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you have a terrific Tuesday!

Congratulations- "Love" for Homegrown

Hi Stampers!!

I have not had a chance to participate with the Stamping411 Sketches lately, so I wanted tocreate a card using this week’s SSC249 Sketch along with the “Congratulations”  SUO42 theme challenge from the SUO Challengesite.  I also chose to highlight all of the 2010-2012 retiring “In-Colors” with the exception of Blushing Bride- only another month or so before these beautiful colors will be retired!

In keeping with the idea to use “sets that you had to have but have not inked as much as you thought you would”, I decided to ink up my “neglected” Homegrown set.  I love the artwork in this set, but for some reason, have not used it as much as I thought I would.

I modified the sketch a bit to add the sentiment at the bottom.  The   “Congratulations” theme seemed an appropriate sentiment- I know that I would like to have more time to possibly garden or stamp :-)

Plus I was able to ink up one of my retired sets (again, one that had not been used as much as I would have liked before it retired)- hmmn…there seems to be a theme here- I must have too many stamp sets :-) !!
To create this card:

Close-Up of detail in the corners
Ink the images with Versamark® and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.  Heat emboss with the Heat Tool and once the embossing has cooled, color the images using the Aqua Painter with the ink pads (I used Concord Crush, Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz).  Carefully cut out around the embossed images and set aside.

Using the Big Shot™ with the Finial Press Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, emboss a piece of Peach Parfait DSP (prior to embossing, I inked the smooth interior side of the folder first with Peach Parfait).  Lightly sand this layer with the Sanding Block and adhere onto Concord Crush.

Wrap the Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding around the outside corners, add the knotted Hemp Twine and the embossed images. Use the 1/16” Handheld Punch and attach two brads in the corner of the Homegrown sentiment and mount the entire panel onto Pear Pizzazz cardstock.

Add the sentiment layers and you are finished!

Stamp Sets:  Homegrown, Congrats (retired)

Ink: Versamark™, Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade
Paper: Whisper White, Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait DSP (retired Hostess pack)

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Finial Press Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Framelits™ Label Collection Die, Heat Tool, Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder, Modern Label and 1” Circle Punch, Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding, Hemp Twine, Metallic Brads

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you have a wonderful Easter week!
