CAS Anchor the Soul

Hi Stampers!!

I had a chance to play in my craft room last night and decided to create a Clean and Simple (CAS) card using the SC110 Inspiration Challenge for LeAnne’s “CAS The Beach” PP258 Challenge as well as the Addicted to Stamps and  More  ATS157 “Make Your Mark”Challenge.

As the days of summer are coming to a close here in the Northeast, this set reminds me of the beach and the precious hope we have in the Lord.

Again, if you have not already done so, I hope you will find the time to visit the above challenge sites to check out the inspiration from their Design Teams as well as their fabulous galleries!

This card was fairly easy to create:

For the one layer focal image panel stamp the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) images using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, color with Stampin’ Write Markers (using the AquaPainter™ to blend),  add a bit of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to the sand area and Ranger® Tim Holtz® Picket Fence Distress Stain to the rocks along with Brushed Pewter to the anchor (using the AquaPainter™).

Ink the Gorgeous Grunge splatter stamp with Tip Top Taupe Classic Ink and add a bit of splatter to the lower portion of the card front.  Trim the panel and mount onto Basic Black cardstock.

Add the strip of embossed Tempting Turquoise layered onto Basic Black cardstock to the Tip Top Taupe card base and mount the focal image panel to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Anchor the Soul (ODBD), Gorgeous Grunge

Ink:  Stāz-On® Jet Black, Tip Top Taupe; Stampin’ Write Markers- Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette, Sahara Sand, Tip Top Taupe, Tempting Turquoise; Faber-Castell® Pitt Pen XS Black Marker, Ranger® Tim Holtz® Picket Fence and Brushed Silver Distress Stain; Champagne  Mist Shimmer Paint

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise, Tip Top Taupe

Accessories: Big Shot™, retired Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, AquaPainter

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you have a wonderful day :-)   Hugs and God Bless!

By The Seashore- Thinking of You

Hi Again Stampers!

I had a chance to complete one more card Saturday evening and decided to play along with the Pals Paper Arts PPA261 Sketch Challenge as well as the Splitcoaststampers’ Mix-Ability MIX120 “Just Beachy” Challenge (see details here and gallery here) and the F4A273 “Sand Between My Toes” Challenge (see details here and gallery here).

When I organized my stamping area (a while ago :-)), I found some previously pre-printed My Digital Studio (MDS) images that had already been colored and “fussy-cut” and decided to use for these images for the main design.   Of course, you could stamp the images if you do not have MDS...

Again, if you have not stopped by any of the challenge sites yet, I hope you will find the time to do so- fantastic inspiration from all!!

To create this card:

Open a blank document in My Digital Studio (MDS), position the By The Seashore images (re-sizing all a bit) and print out using Black Printer Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.

The sand has alot of shimmer and sparkle that is difficult to see in the photo :-)
Color the images using Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Markers.
Fussy-cut each image and use an AquaPainter™ to apply retired Frost White Shimmer Paint to each image.

Tear a piece of scrap paper to create the edge for the shoreline, mask a portion of Whisper White cardstock and using Sponge Daubers apply Sahara Sand Classic Ink for the sand area.

Remove the mask and replace over the sand (extending a bit for the “foam”) and sponge Pool Party, Marina Mist and Lost Lagoon Classic Ink for the ocean.

Mask the water area again and spritz Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (mixed with rubbing alcohol) over the sand area, lift the mask and re-mask the sand area to spray Frost White Shimmer Paint over the ocean area.

Ink the Gorgeous Grunge large splatter stamp using Sahara Sand and stamp over the sand area.

Add a few white highlights over the water with the Faber-Castell® White Pitt Pen Marker as well as highlights on the shell images, etc.

Use a Faber-Castell® Black Pitt Pen S Marker to add the definition for the shore line.

Stamp the sentiment using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and trim the panel, mount onto Tip Top Taupe cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Mount the seashell images using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  By The Seashore (MDS version), Wetlands

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Stāz-On® Jet Black, Lost Lagoon, Marina Mist, Pool Party, Sahara Sand; Stampin’ Write Markers- Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand; Faber-Castell® Pitt Pen Markers- White and Black “S”, Shimmer Paint- Champagne Mist and Frost White

Paper: Whisper White, Tip Top Taupe

Accessories: AquaPainter™,  Sponge Daubers, scrap paper for masking

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you have a wonderful and relaxing Sunday!

CAS Just Beachy :-)

Hi Again Stampers!!

Here is another very quick card that I created using the CQC250 ColourQ Challenge along with the Splitcoaststampers CAS282 Day at the Beach and TLC491 And SheScores! Challenges :-)

Again, I hope you have a chance to visit the above sites to check out the Design Team samples and other entries- wonderful inspiration from all!!

To create this Clean and Simple (CAS) card:

Ink the flip flop image from the retired set, Just Beachy using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Color the image using the Stampin’ Blendabilities™ Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo and Neutrals Collections.  Use the Stampin’ Write Crumb Cake Marker as well in the area and trim around the image  (for the life of me, I cannot stamp a straight sentiment on a one layer card so I had to trim- lol!) :-)

Ink the sentiment from the retired set, Congrats using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut out the banner points using the Hexagon Punch.

Using the Simply Scored™ Tool, score the lines on another piece of Whisper White cardstock and adhere to the Whisper White card base.

Add the images to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Less than 10 minutes and you are finished!!

Stamp Sets: Just Beachy, Congrats (both retired)

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black, Stampin’ Blendabilities™- Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo and Neutrals Collections,  Stampin’ Write Crumb Cake marker

Paper: Whisper White

Accessories: Hexagon Punch

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you have a terrific Tuesday!

Thinking of You- A Day at the Beach

Hi Stampers!!

I wanted to use the new stamp set, Wetlands to create a card using the CCMC256 Create withConnie and Mary Color Challenge along with Freshly Made Sketches FMS90Challenge (if you have a chance, take the time to visit each site and check out their great designs)!!

This card was fairly quick to create:

Using the 1 ¼” Circle Punch, punch out a mask from scrap paper and position the circle portion onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock (for the moon/sun).   Use the AquaPainter™ to pick up some ink from the Summer Starfruit Classic Ink pad and loosely apply to the sky portion, add a bit of Island Indigo for the ocean and just a hint of Early Espresso (very diluted) for the sand area.

Blot the wet ink dry with a paper towel and allow to scene to dry completely before stamping the sentiment and bird image using Early Espresso Classic Ink. Use the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write marker to add a few flying birds by hand and also add a bit of spritzing with the retired Color Spritzer Tool to give the illusion of the beach.

Adhere the entire panel onto Early Espresso cardstock and add the photo corners using the retired Photo Corner Punch, along with the Vintage Trinket Brad in the corner.

Create the background Designer Series Paper (DSP) panel by adhering a piece of the Subway Soho Designer Series Paper (I used the NY Map image) onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock, mount onto a layer of Island Indigo cardstock and then again onto another Early Espresso cardstock layer before adding to your card base.

Create the vertical panel of using Early Espresso cardstock with a strip of the Summer Starfruit and Island Indigo DSP from the Soho Subway DSP pack- I love these designs in this DSP- great for masculine or feminine cards!!

Ink the starfish and sand dollar image from By The Seashore with Early Espresso and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.  Carefully cut out and sponge Summer Starfruit and Island Indigo Classic Ink onto each image.

Adhere the focal image along with the starfish with the sand dollar images using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish of this quick, easy card!

Stamp Sets:  Wetlands, By The Seashore

Ink: Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit, Stampin’ Write Marker- Early Espresso

Paper: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Soho Subway Designer Series Paper

Accessories:  AquaPainter™, Color Spritzer Tool (retired),  1 ¼” Circle Punch (for mask), retired Photo Corner Punch, Vintage Trinket Brad, Sponge Daubers

Thanks again for stopping by – I will be posting more cards later today and hope you visit again soon!!
