TCC138b Silent Night, Holy Night

Hi Friends!

Welcome to The Card Concept #138b {Christmas In July} Challenge!  I hope you will take a moment to check out the rest of the Design Team cards- so much inspiration!

I absolutely love our inspiration photo- the pretty blues and pinks along with the vintage feel and was inspired to create a Classy and Elegant/ Mixed Media card!

If you have not had a chance to visit The Card Concept or the other challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the Poinsettia Collage image (Divinity Designs LLC) using Versafine™ Onyx Black ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing powder has cooled, watercolor the image using distress inks along with water-based markers, lightly drying the layers with a heat tool.  Once satisfied with the coloring, trim the image and mount onto black cardstock (trim again close to the edge).

Cut a piece of white cardstock for the background (this card is 3 ¾” x 8”).  Using a palette knife, apply glitter gel with a stencil to the top half of the panel.

Allow the gel to air-dry (this only took a few minutes) before mounting onto a 4 ¼” x 8 ½” piece of black cardstock.

Add a piece of white crochet lace to the card front and adhere a strip of melon grosgrain ribbon over the top part of the lace.  Layer a piece of silver metallic ribbon over the grosgrain (wrap the ends of both behind the panel).

Adhere the entire panel onto a 4 ¼” x 8 ½” white card base.

Stamp the sentiment from Peace on Earth (retired Verve Stamps) with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut the sentiment with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto black cardstock and trim close to the edge.

Mount the poinsettia image and sentiment onto the card front with dimensional foam (or chipboard).

Using diluted Pearl Texture Luxe™, watercolor a layer of shimmer over all of the petals.
Trying to capture some of the shimmer on the petals and texture paste :-)

Once dry, add a few white highlights with an extra fine white paint pen and add a rhinestone to the center of the star on the sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Poinsettia Collage (Divinity Designs LLC), Peace on Earth (retired Verve Stamps)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Tim Holtz™ Distress- Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers; Stampin’ Write Markers- Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green, Mossy Meadow; Gina K™ Glitz Glitter Gel, Sharpie® Extra Fine White Paint Pen, Faber-Castell® Texture Luxe™ Pearl
