May Your Cup Overflow

Hi Friends!

This week at the Stamp Simply blog, the Stamp Simply Design Team have been sharing black and white cards with a “pop” of color.   Plus, Stamp Simply is a Super Sponsor of the National Coffee Day 2023 Blog Hop!

Plus, it is time for the  National Coffee Day 2023 Blog Hop and Stamp Simply is a Super Sponsor!

I decided to create a black and white with a "pop" of color coffee card using the Have A Cup on Us Bundle along with the Sunflower Season stamp set (using a fun masking technique).

As many of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy playing along with online challenges, so I am linking this card to the Can You Handle the Pressure “Anything Goes with optional twist Bees/Beehive” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to check out my Sister DT cards yet, or the National Coffee Day 2023 Blog Hop , I hope you will do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Emboss a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of white cardstock with the Sizzix 3D Texture Fades A6 Intertwine Embossing Folder.

Trim the panel to approx. 4” x 5 ¼” and mount onto a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of black cardstock.

De-static a piece of the Sunset Ink Drops paper (approx. 2” x 4” piece) with an embossing powder tool, ink the sentiment from Have A Cup On Us with Versafine Onyx Black, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

FYI- my piece of ink drops paper is approx. 2” x 4” and is part of a cut off from a previous project- I love using up my scraps!

Mount onto black cardstock (approx. 2 ¼”x 4 ¼”) and adhere to the embossed panel.

Wrap a piece of the black and white baker’s twine over the panel and adhere the entire panel onto a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” white card base.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the coffee cup stamp from Have A Cup on Us with Versafine Onyx Black, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, stamp the coffee cup image onto a sticky note or masking paper, carefully cut out the cup to keep the outside covered, and mask around the coffee cup image.

De-static the coffee cup image with an embossing powder took, ink the sunflower image from Sunflower Season with Versafine Onyx Black, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Remove the masking paper and die cut the coffee cup with the coordinating Have a Cup On Us die

Color the sunflower with yellow water-based markers and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Finish off the card with the black and white baker’s twine  bow and a few black rhinestones.

Stamp Sets: Have A Cup On Us, Sunflower Season (Stamp Simply)

Inks/Mediums: Versafine Onyx Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- So Saffron, Crushed Curry, Hello Honey

Give Thanks

Hi Friends!

This week at the Stamp Simply blog, the Stamp Simply Design Team have been sharing Autumn/Fall cards.

I love fall, especially here in the Mid-Atlantic area!  The crisp, cool air and the colors of the foliage are two of favorite things in the fall!

I decided to pair the Seasonal Wreaths- Fall and Winter Bundle along with the Autumn Silhouettes stamp sets with scraps of Carta Bella Welcome Autumn 6x6 paper and a 3D Brick Embossing Folder (all from Stamp Simply) to create this fun card.

As many of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy playing along with online challenges.  This card was created for the Tic-Tac-Toe #227 “Featured Designer Roseanne” Challenge (far right column down- Twine, Embossing, Designer Paper) and the Word Art Wednesday #613-#614 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to check out my Sister DT cards yet, or the Tic-Tac-Toe and Word Art Wednesday challenge sites, I hope you will do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Emboss a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of white cardstock with the Sizzix 3D Texture Fades A6 Brick Embossing Folder.

Trim the panel to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”.  Tear and distress the corners.

Mount the pieces of Carta Bella Welcome Autumn paper to the areas behind the torn edges of the brick texture embossed panel (FYI- I used scraps from a previous project- I hate to waste designer paper, lol!)

Trim the entire panel to approx. 4” x 5 ¼” and distress with a distressing tool.

Layer the strip of white pleated ribbon and add the kraft baker’s twine over the ribbon, wrapping the ends behind the panel.

Mount onto a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of black cardstock and adhere to a white card base.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the verse sentiment stamp from Autumn Silhouettes with Versafine Onyx Black, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Repeat the same process as above with the wreath and pumpkin images from the Seasonal Wreaths- Fall and Winter Bundle.

Watercolor the pumpkin image with water-based markers and die-cut the wreath and pumpkin images with the coordinating dies.

Cut the sentiment layer (by hand) to fit within the wreath (I put the wreath die cut over the sentiment layer, used a pencil to lightly trace the inner part of the wreath, then cut around about ½” larger so I could mount behind the wreath). Layer the pumpkin image onto the wreath so you have one unit to mount onto the card.

To finish off the card, mount the wreath/sentiment layer onto the card front using dimensional foam.

Stamp Sets:  Seasonal Wreaths- Fall and Winter Bundle, Autumn Silhouettes (Stamp Simply)

Inks/Mediums: Versafine Onyx Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Pumpkin Pie. Tangerine Tango, Soft Suede, Wild Wasabi

Cardstock/Paper: White,  Black, Carta Bella Welcome Autumn 6x6

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., Seasonal Wreaths- Fall and Winter Bundle, Sizzix 3D Texture Fades A6 Brickwork Embossing Folder,  Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Distressing Tool, May Arts Vintage Sampler- Pink and White with Rosettes (I used the Pleated White Ribbon), May Arts Bakers Twine- 110 yd spool- kraft

I hope I have inspired you to create a card this week! Also, don’t miss out on the current specials (including these wonderful surprise boxes) at Stamp Simply!

CAS Christmas Cards- Set of 4

Hi Friends!

This week at the Stamp Simply blog, the Stamp Simply Design Team have been sharing quick and easy Christmas cards.

I love the Craft Consortium Ink Drops paper collections and thought that the darker green patterns in the new Organic Ink Drops 6x6 paper pad would be perfect for Christmas cards.

I paired the paper with the background stamp from the Jesus stamp set along with gold mirror cardstock for a set of quick cards that are relatively flat for mailing.

If you have not had a chance to check out my Sister DT cards yet, I hope you will do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Trim a piece of the Organic Ink Drops paper to 4” x 5 ¼” and layer onto a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of gold mirror cardstock. (FYI- I die cut a rectangle out of the gold mirror cardstock before layering the ink drops paper onto the cardstock.  That rectangular die cut is large enough to use for layering the sentiment.  The organic ink drops paper covers up the die cut so you can not even tell and this stretches the mirror cardstock so you can use every single inch, lol! Plus lightens the weight for mailing, win, win!).

Mount the entire background panel onto a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” white card base scored at the top (for an easel style card).

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the background stamp from Jesus with Versamark ink, apply gold embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing cools, trim the sentiment panel and mount onto gold mirror cardstock (using the pre-die cut rectangle from the background panel (noted above)- trim close to the edge.

Directly mount the sentiment panel onto the card front to finish off the card.

Quick, easy and flat to mail!  Maybe I have inspired you to create a set of quick Christmas cards?

Stamp Sets:  Jesus (Stamp Simply)

Inks/Mediums: Versamark

Cardstock/Paper: White,  Craft Consortium Ink Drops- Organic 6x6 Paper Pad, Bazzill Mirror Cardstock- 8.5 x 11- Gold 15 ct

Accessories/Tools: Embossing Powder Tool, Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

The Card Concept #199 Country Style

Hi Friends!

Welcome back to The Card Concept! We are thrilled to be back with our inspiration challenges and this year, we are changing things up a bit!

We are changing the challenge to monthly (vs bi-weekly) so that more time is allowed for you to play along!

Our first monthly challenge is our #199 {Country Style} Challenge!

What will inspire your card?  Will it be the overall theme, the actual elements (rooster, barn, ribbons, flowers, etc.), the colors, textures or something else?

I love the chicken, barn, flowers, gingham and all of the elements, but was inspired by the sunflowers for my Shabby and Vintage Mixed Media card!  I have been hoarding this Graphic 45 French Country paper for years and thought it would work great for this challenge!

If you have not already visited us at The Card Concept, I hope you will find the time to do so.  Gorgeous inspiration from the rest of my DT sisters!

This was a very easy card to create:

Trim the background paper to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”, distress the edges and adhere to a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” black card front.

Wrap the gold ribbon across the card and adhere the ends behind the card front.

Adhere the panel to a white card base.

Add the strips of lace over the ribbon (FYI- this was an after thought for me, I had a snall scrap of this lace left over so I tucked it in under the mounted floral panel).  I do not like to throw anything away, lol!

Trim the sunflower cut-a-apart from the French Country paper pack, de-static the lower right hand corner with an embossing powder tool, stamp the verse sentiment from Fear Not with Versamark ink, apply gold embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, mount onto white cardstock, trim close to the edge and mount onto black cardstock.

Adhere to the card front with dimensional foam and add a few pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Fear Not (Stamp Simply)

Inks/Mediums: Versamark

Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Graphic 45 French Country

Accessories/Tools: Embossing Powder Tool, Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Lace and Gold Ribbon (both from my stash), Pearls

Thanks again for taking the time to visit! I hope you are inspired to create a card and join us for our #199 {Country Style} Challenge at The Card Concept!

Hi Friends!

This week at the Stamp Simply blog, the Stamp Simply Design Team have been sharing Appreciation cards for our all types of personnel in service, whether it be our Military, Pastors, Elders, Deaconesses, Teachers, etc.

October is traditionally Pastor Appreciation Month and I decided to create a card for one of our Pastors using stamps, papers, dies and other accessories all from Stamp Simply.

To create this card:

Trim two pieces of the Sunset ink drops paper to approx. 2 ¼” square and mount onto gold mirror cardstock. Trim close to the edge.

De-static another piece of the Sunset ink drops paper with an embossing powder tool, ink the verse sentiment from the Pastor & Ministry Appreciation Scripture with Versamark ink, apply gold embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing cools, trim the sentiment panel and mount onto gold mirror cardstock (trimming close to the edge).

Emboss a piece of kraft cardstock with the Tree Rings embossing folder, mount onto a white card base.

Directly mount the first two squares on an angle onto the card front and add the sentiment panel with dimensional foam.

Die cut several leaves using the TH Skeleton Leaves Dies from gold mirror cardstockAdhere the die cut leaves to finish off the card.

I enjoy playing along with online challenges and will be linking this card to the Word Art Wednesday #611-#612 Anything Goes Challenge.
