I hope all of you are having a great start to the weekend so far!!  

Today it is my turn to highlight a card on the Artistic Outpost blog and I created another monochromatic Mixed Media card using Seed Packets Background along with Harvest and Grunge Elements from the 2016 Spring Release at ArtisticOutpost.

I decided to incorporate the Mojo Monday #456 Sketch Challenge  into the design (love the Mojo Monday sketches!) and if you have not already visited the Artistic Outpost blog (or the Mojo Monday challenge site yet), I hope you will do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

This card is a bit lighter IRL :-)

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ to emboss a piece of paper from the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) Vintage Ephemera 6x6 Paper Collection with the retired Honeycomb Embossing Folder, trim  the panel and mount onto a piece of taupe cardstock, trim again to mount onto the dark brown card front.

Ink the Seed Packets Background with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, lightly spritz with water and stamp onto a piece of taupe cardstock.

Use a Sponge Dauber to apply Tea Dye Distress Ink to “age” the paper.

Enhance the shadows with a chocolate water-based marker and use a water brush to blend the color.

Ink the splatter image from Grunge Elements with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and stamp over the panel.

Use the Big Shot™ with the ODBD Double Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut out the main panel and the ODBD Double Stitched Circle Dies to cut the central circle.

Mount the panel onto a piece of dark brown cardstock, trim and mount onto taupe cardstock (sponging the edges with the TH Tea Dye Distress Ink).

Add the die cut/stamped circle piece in the center with dimensional foam and mount the antique brass spiral clip with the knotted twine to the upper left hand corner of the panel.

Adhere the entire panel to the card front and add the antique brass brads to the lower right hand corner before mounting the card front onto the white card base.

De-static a scrap piece of the ODBD Vintage Ephemera Paper with an Embossing Buddy®, stamp the sentiment from Harvest using Versamark™ ink onto the prepared paper and apply white embossing powder (heat set with the Heat Tool).

Use scissors to hand-trim the banner points, adhere the knotted twine to the sentiment banner before mounting onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Artistic Outpost- Seed Packets Background Shaker Card

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing this fun Mixed Media Shaker card on the Artistic Outpost (AO) blog using the new AO Spring 2016 Release stamp Seed Packets Background from Our Daily Bread Designs.

I am linking this card to the Splitcoaststampers’ MIX11 “Frame It” Challenge (see details here and gallery here) along with the WaysTo Use It WT516 “Beads” Challenge.

To create this card:

Ink the Seed Packets Background stamp with Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Color the images with an AquaPainter™ using ink from Cucumber Crush, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, So Saffron Classic Ink Pads and Stampin’ Write Markers.

After the watercolor has dried, apply Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Vintage Medium over the entire panel and once dried add Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Crazing Medium over the panel.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) Double Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut out the frame from a piece of Basic Black cardstock, add a piece of acetate to the center of the frame (I used a piece of scrap acetate I had saved from some packaging material) and line the frame with double sided self-adhesive dimensional foam.

Lay the frame with the dimensional foam facing up and pour a few green seed beads onto the acetate.

Remove the adhesive from the strips around the frame and adhere the Seed Packets Background panel onto the frame.

Mount the entire shaker panel onto the Whisper White card base and use a Sponge Applicator to apply Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tea Dye Distress Ink over the edges to finish off the card.

ODBDSLC269 Happy 16th Birthday Nicholas!

Hi  Friends!

I had a chance to create a birthday card this week for my nephew (shhh... he has not received this card yet and I hope that he does not check my blog- lol!) :-) 

I inked up the brand new sets from Our Daily Bread Designs, Plough the Fields and Saddle Up for the ODBDSLC269 “Something Old, Something New”Challenge.

Nicholas will be 16 soon and has been helping a friend on his farm since he was a young boy.  I think he will like this new Plough the Fields stamp set image from Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) and I love the way that depending on how you color it, you can create a scene for summer or winter.

In addition to the “new” ODBD stamps sets from the December 2015 Release, the“old” items are the retired Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper (DSP) for the embossed background (not sure of the name or date at this time- maybe 2005 or so) as well as the twine that I had in my stash (this twine was re-purposed from packaging I received a while back).

I also incorporated the Splitcoaststampers’  CC563 Color Challenge along with the SC406 Sketch Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge site or the Splitcoaststampers’ galleries, I hope you will find the time to do so- fabulous inspiration in all of the galleries.

This card is pretty straight forward to make: Stamp the images, color with markers, distress with inks, die cut with rectangle dies and layer, assemble and finish off with various hardware.

ODBDSLC266 Living Water Blessings

I had a chance to stamp this weekend and decided to create a card for the Our Daily Bread DesignsODBDSLC266 Sketch Challenge using the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) stamp set, Living Water along with Doily Blessings. 

Since this card seems a bit vintage to me, I am also linking this card to the Alphabet Challenge “V for Vintage” Challenge.

If you have not visited the above sites yet, I encourage you to do so- the Design Team samples at both challenge sites are wonderful as well as their gallery entries!

On another note, I have been struggling with severe osteoarthritis for years and injured my right shoulder months ago (when I lifted my Big Shot over my shoulder from behind me-duh!!)...I re-injured the shoulder recently and typing puts a strain on the muscle, so I will be blogging but with limited instructions...  I hope you understand and thank those of you who I know have been praying for me­ -you are a blessing to me for sure!

 To create this card:

Ink the Living Water grist mill image from using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, stamp onto Whisper White cardstock  and color with Stampin’ Write Markers.

Cut the image out with the new ODBD Rectangle Dies , mount onto a rectangle cut from the ODBD Double Stitched Rectangle Dies from Soft Suede cardstock  and mount onto a trimmed piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock.

Layer the Christmas Card Collection 2015 background paper onto a piece of Soft Suede cardstock and add the 5/8” Satin Ribbon strip.

Mount the background panel onto the Mossy Meadow card base, add the White Tea Lace Doily to the back of the focal image and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Add the layered sentiment from the ODBD Doily Blessings set along with the Pearls to finish off the card.
