Artistic Outpost- Rather Be on My Farm

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing this easy Mixed Media card with an Emboss Resist technique on the Artistic Outpost Blog and wanted to share it with all of you as well.

This card uses the Artistic Outpost (AO) stamp sets- Seed Packets Background, Harvest and Grunge Elements (all available from Our Daily Bread Designs).

I am also linking this card to the Alphabet Challenge "R for Recipe" (Sentiment, Stamp, Embossing) along with the Splitcoaststampers' Try A New Technique TLC573 "Revisiting Emboss Resist" Challenge (from 02/16/16)-  I love the fact that the SCS Challenges do not end :-)

If you have not had a chance to visit the Artistic Outpost Blog yet, I encourage you to do so- great inspiration from all of my Design Team sisters!

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the AO Seed Packets Backgroundimage with embossing ink, stamp onto the prepared white cardstock, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the powder has cooled, use water base markers to color the images and wipe off the excess ink with a paper towel.

Once you are satisfied with the color, ink the large splatter stamp from the AO Grunge Elements stamp set with vintage photo distress ink, stamp over the embossed panel to add distressing and wipe off the excess.

Trim the panel, mount onto the espresso cardstock, trim again and mount onto the suede card base.

Ink the sentiment from the AO Harvest stamp set with clear embossing powder, stamp onto a scrap piece of prepared white cardstock and emboss with espresso embossing powder.

Trim the embossed sentiment to size, mount onto espresso cardstock and add to the card front with dimensional foam.

Add the polished hemp twine strands and bow to finish off the card.

What a fun card to design and I hope I have inspired you to create something this weekend!  Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- hugs to all of you!

Faith Quote Blocks- Great Hearts by Great Troubles

Hi Friends!

We are continuing to celebrate the 9th Birthday at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and I hope you are able to stop by the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps blog for additional inspiration and the SNSS Facebook page to check out the daily and weekly specials in honor of the celebration!

Today I am sharing another card with the new November Release set, Faith Quote Blocks Clear Stamp Set (designed by NinaB Designs)  along with the previously released SNSS Decorative Frames Clear Stamp Set on the SNSS Blog and wanted to share it with you as well.

Since my card uses more than two mediums, I consider it a Clean and Simple (CAS) or Clean and Layered (CAL) Mixed Media card and trust me, it was fairly simple to create.

Also, one of my very favorite online challenge sites, Pals Paper Arts decided to close their challenge site (I am truly going to miss the inspiration from these talented designers), so I searched online for a few new challenges and decided to incorporate this week's Match The Sketch#149 Challenge  :-)).

I loved this sketch as well as their wonderful Design Team and gallery of entries and hope to play along again soon!

To create this card:

Emboss a piece of white cardstock with a heart patterned embossing folder, trim and mount onto a piece of black cardstock.

Mount the small scrap of black cardstock (per the sketch) onto the card base and add the strip of 5/8” black satin ribbon along with the 3/8” black and white gingham ribbon (wrapping the ribbon ends behind the panel).

Add the layered decorative kraft patterned paper panel onto the card front and mount the entire card front onto the white card base.

Stamp the SNSS Decorative Frames Clear Stamp image with Versamark™ ink onto a piece of black cardstock (don’t forget to de-static with an Embossing Buddy® first), apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing powder has cooled, position the SNSS Faith Quote Blocks image into the center of the frame, stamp with Versamark™ ink, apply heat emboss with white embossing powder, once cooled fussy-cut the image and apply white craft ink to mimic chalk dust (I used my finger).

Create the rolled flowers from rust cardstock (I already had these in my stash ready to go) and add to the card front along with the leaves.

Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the roses to finish off the card.

Ink/Mediums: Versamark™,  Whisper White Pigment Ink, Clear Glitter Pen

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Cajun Craze, Garden Green; retired Love Blossoms DSP

Accessories/Tools:  Big Shot™, Happy Hearts Textured Impression™ Embossing Folder, retired MFT Royal Roses Dies, Martha Stewart™  Leaf Punch, 5/8” Black Satin Ribbon, 3/8” Black and White Gingham Ribbon, White Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy®, Heat Tool

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by and don't forget to check out the SNSS FB page during the week for daily specials- hugs and have a blessed weekend, sweet friends!

God's Work Done in God's Way

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a great week so far! Today, we are celebrating the November 2016 Release at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps in time for the SNSS 9th Birthday Celebration!!

To celebrate, Korin at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has a lot of specials lined up this month and a live FB posting at 12 pm EST on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps FB page for even more birthday festivities!!  We hope you can join in on the fun!

My card uses the brand new, SNSS Faith Quote Blocks Clear Stamp Set (designed by NinaB Designs) along with the previously released Decorative Frames Clear Stamp Set (designed by Korin Sutherland).

To create this card:

Ink the frame from SNSS Decorative Frames Clear Stamp Set with embossing ink, stamp onto a piece of black cardstock, position the sentiment from SNSS Faith Quote in the center, stamp with embossing ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing powder has cooled, apply a bit of white craft ink (to mimic chalk- I used my finger) and fussy-cut the frame.

Emboss a piece of white cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of black cardstock, add the crochet lace and gingham ribbon before mounting the entire panel onto the white card base.

Mount the SNSS Faith Quote Blocks panel with dimensional foam and add the rolled flowers and leaves.

Close-up to see a bit of the sparkle on the roses :-)
Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the roses to finish off the card.

I am going to link this card to the Word Art Wednesday #244-#245 “Anything Goes” Challenge as well as the Stampin’ Royalty SR352 “All That Glitters” Challenge (there is glitter on the roses- a bit difficult to see in the photo but very “sparkly” IRL).

If you have not had a chance to stop by the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps site yet or visit the above challenge sites, I hope you will find the time to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

Stamp Sets:  Faith Quote Blocks, Decorative Frames (Sweet‘n Sassy Stamps)

TCC61 A Woman Who Fears The Lord

Hi Friends!!

Woohoo!  It’s time for the #61 “Pretty In  Pink” Challenge at The Card Concept!  Our inspiration photo has so many gorgeous elements that can be interpreted in different ways- the soft colors, the flowers, the typewriter, etc.

Remember, do not be intimidated by an inspiration photo- there is no right or wrong way when it comes to interpretation and we hope to see your card in our gallery!!

I was inspired by the colors as well as the flowers- so feminine and gorgeous!  I thought that the Splitcoaststampers’ CC599 "It's A Wild, Wild Blushing Day" Color Challenge (from 09/05) would be perfect in conjunction with our inspiration photo for a feminine birthday card :-)

If you have not had a chance to visit any of the challenge sites yet, I hope you will find the time to visit us at The Card Concept as well as the Splitcoaststampers and Word Art Wednesday challenge sites- fabulous inspiration from all!!

Since I already had the rolled flowers created and in my “stash”, this card was fairly easy to create:

Cut the pieces of retired Graphic45 Botanical Tea designer paper to approx. 4” x 2.5”, distress the edges with a distressing tool, mount onto vanilla cardstock, distress the edges again and add the ivory crochet lace with the wasabi die cut rectangle (to hide the edges).

Mount the panel onto a piece of wasabi cardstock, distress the edges and mount onto the vanilla card base.

Ink the Our Daily Bread Daily Bread Designs Scripture Collection 4 verse with black archival ink and stamp onto the retired Graphic45 Botanical Tea cut apart.

Distress the edges, mount onto a piece of vanilla cardstock, distress again and add to the card front with dimensional foam.

Create the rolled flowers from blushing bride cardstock (I had these already in my stash and had used the retired MFT Large Royal Rose and Royal Rose dies).

Add the flowers with leaves (punched with the MS Leaf Punch from wasabi cardstock) to the card front (I used hot glue to adhere) and add the pearls to the upper left hand corner of the card front and the lower right hand corner of the sentiment.

To finish off the card, use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the roses and hummingbird.

This card has quite a bit of dimension and I decided to hand-deliver to the wonderful lady who leads our Monday eve, Bible Study- she is definitely a woman who fears the Lord and a sweet sister in Christ!

Stamp Sets: Scripture Collection 4 (Our Daily Bread Designs)

Ink: Archival Black; Clear Glitter Pen

Paper: Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride, Wild Wasabi; retired Graphic45 Botanical Tea

Accessories: Big Shot™, MFT™ Royal Rose Dies, Ivory Crochet Lace, Pearls

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by!  I hope all of you have a fabulous week and hope you can join us for the #61 Pretty In Pink Challenge at The Card Concept!

SC617 Chickadee Merry Christmas

Hi Friends!

It’s time for the new SC617 Sketch at Splitcoaststampers’ and I am also incorporating the Splitcoaststampers’ F4A349 “Texturize” Challenge and the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog #rrbc50 “Fall Colors” Challenge.

I have owned this ODBD Chickadee stamp for years (I have it as part of the ODBD retired stamp set, You Will Find Refuge (2010) but is still available as the ODBD Chickadee Single Stamp). Also, I just love the images in the ODBD Christmas Collection 2013 6x6 Paper and have been hoarding it (in fact, I have had this paper for several years and this is the first card I have created with the actual sheet that has the bird images- I told you, I have been hoarding it :-)).

If you have not already visited the above challenge sites, I hope you will have a chance to do so- fabulous inspiration from my DT Sisters at the SCS Sketch Gallery as well as the Free for All  Splitcoaststampers’ gallery and the gorgeous Retro Rubber Challenge Blog site!

To create this card:

Ink the ODBD Chickadee Single Stamp image with archival black ink and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock.

Color the chickadee using gray and saffron water based markers for the bird, cherry for the berries and vintage photo for the branches along with a water brush.

Die cut the image with the coordinating ODBD Chickadee die and set aside.

Distress the piece of ODBD Christmas Collection 2013 background paper (fussy-cutting the chickadee from another sheet and layering onto espresso cardstock- also fussy-cutting around the edge), mount the distressed background panel onto espresso cardstock, trimming close to the stitching.

Die cut two circles from espresso cardstock and various patterns of the ODBD Christmas Collection 2013 Paper using the ODBD Circle Dies, distress the edges and mount the designer paper circles onto split circles of the espresso cardstock (so only a small border appears).

Create the banners by hand from the ODBD Christmas Collection 2013 Paper and layer the elements per the sketch layout (using dimensional foam for the smaller circle).

Stamp the sentiment from the ODBD Christmas Note stamp set with archival black ink onto white cardstock, die cut and emboss with the ODBD Filigree Frames Dies and use a water brush to apply a light application of vintage photo distress ink.

Layer the die cut chickadee with the sentiment (using dimensional to support the edges that are off the circle) and the fussy-cut chickadee from the designer paper (lining up the tail feathers).

Add the strips of twine at the top before mounting the entire panel onto the hunter green card base.

Mount the twine bow and add the white highlights to the berries with an extra fine white paint pen.

I hope this card inspires you to create a project this week, and if so, come play along with us at Splitcoaststampers!

Thanks again for visiting- hugs and have a blessed week, my friends!

Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs November 2016 Release!

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs November 2016 Release Blog Hop!! Christmas is almost here and I just love all of the stamp sets and dies in this new release.

I know that you will not want to miss the inspiration from the rest of the ODBD “Breadsticks”Design Team and we would love to have you hop along with us- see more details below...

My first card features the new ODBD Jingle Bell Time stamp set along with the new ODBD Snowflake Season Collection 6x6 Paper Pad and previously released ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies and ODBD Lavish Layers Dies.

I absolutely love this Jingle Bell Time image- so much fun to color!  I used water-based markers to watercolor the image and background- added a bit of layering for a quick and easy card!

My second card features the new ODBD Snowflake Sky Die, ODBD Snow Crystals Dies along with the previously released ODBD Noel Border Die.

To create the background, I inked the ODBD Snowflake Sky Die with raspberry distress ink, stamped onto white cardstock and spritzed with water.

Once the panel was dry, I decided that the image was not defined enough so I die cut and embossed the ODBD Snowflake Sky Die from white and raspberry cardstock, layered over the stamped background and added the raspberry ODBD Noel Border Die along with the ODBD Snow Crystals Dies plus a bit of shimmer and rhinestones to finish off the card.

I hope I have inspired you today and that you will take the time to visit the rest of my ODBD Design Team Sisters to check out their gorgeous creations!
