Our Daily Bread Designs March 2017 Release Reminder

Hi Friends!

Today we are taking a look back at the March 2017 Our Daily Bread Designs Release!  We are celebrating with a Design Team Blog Hop and I know that you will not want to miss out on the fabulous inspiration from the rest of my ODBD sister “Bread Sticks” - we would love to have you hop along with us:

Dawn * Cathy * Lisa * Helen * Kathy * Sandee
Sabrina * Robin * Diana Lori * Julie (you are here)

My card features the Daffodils stamp set along with the coordinating Daffodil Die, Side Step Die, Circle Scalloped Rectangles Dies (all from the March release) as well as the previously released Pierced Square Dies and BeautifulBorders Dies.

To create this card:

1). Ink the Daffodils floral image with archival black ink and stamp three of the images onto white cardstock.  Die cut each with the Daffodil Die and watercolor with watercolor pencils (in case you have never seen purple daffodils, I "googled" purple daffodils for my color combination :-)).

2). Die cut the card base using the Side Step Die from plum cardstock, fold along the score lines.

3). Die cut and emboss two pieces of white cardstock with the medium size die from the Circle Scalloped Rectangles Dies, split one in half and mount onto the “steps” of the Side Step Card.

4). Die cut and emboss a piece of white cardstock with the Beautiful Borders Dies, adhere to the front “step” of the card base.

5). Add the Circle Scalloped Rectangle die cut to the side panel and  add the die cut Daffodils image.

6). Stamp the sentiment from the Daffodils stamp set using black archival ink onto white cardstock, set the ink with a heat tool before die cutting and embossing the sentiment with the Pierced Square Dies.  Mount the sentiment onto a piece of plum cardstock, trim close to the edge.  Mount the sentiment to the side panel and add a few pearls to the corners.

7). Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the flowers to finish off the card.

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- hugs and have a great week, my friends!

Peaceful Peonies

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a great week so far! We are celebrating the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps March 2017 Release later today and this card was designed with the new SNSS Peaceful Peonies ClearStamp Set designed by NinaB Designs.

If you have not had a chance to visit the SNSS Blog, SNSS Facebook page or the other challenge site yet, I highly encourage you to do so!  Inspiration is posted throughout the week on the SNSS Blog and FB Page from my sisters on the SNSS Creative Team and the other challenge sites have fabulous DT and galleries as well!

To create this card:

1). Use a stencil brush with flourish stencil to apply tumbled glass distress ink to a piece of white cardstock, trim the panel, mount onto a piece of black cardstock, trim and moutn onto the white card base.

2). Use a stencil brush with the same flourish stencil to apply tumbled glass distress ink to another piece of white cardstock, die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto black cardstock, trim close to the edge  and add to the card front (per the sketch).

3). Ink the SNSS Peaceful Peonies image with embossing ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock and heat emboss with black embossing powder.  Once the powder has cooled, color the image with water-based markers and a water brush, layering color carefully without too much water so the paper will not “pill”.

4). Fussy cut the floral image close to the embossing, cut the leaves off the edges and split the flower near the bottom.  Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the petals on the floral image.

5). Heat emboss the sentiment from the SNSS Peaceful Peonies Clear Stamp Set with white embossing powder onto black cardstock, trim the panel.

6). Position the leaves and adhere directly to the card front, add the flower image and sentiment with dimensional foam.

7). Add a few rhinestones to finish off the card.

I had a great time designing with this card:-)  Hugs and thanks again for taking the time to stop by!  I hope all of you have a blessed weekend, sweet friends!

God's Work Done in God's Way

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a great week so far! Today, we are celebrating the November 2016 Release at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps in time for the SNSS 9th Birthday Celebration!!

To celebrate, Korin at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has a lot of specials lined up this month and a live FB posting at 12 pm EST on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps FB page for even more birthday festivities!!  We hope you can join in on the fun!

My card uses the brand new, SNSS Faith Quote Blocks Clear Stamp Set (designed by NinaB Designs) along with the previously released Decorative Frames Clear Stamp Set (designed by Korin Sutherland).

To create this card:

Ink the frame from SNSS Decorative Frames Clear Stamp Set with embossing ink, stamp onto a piece of black cardstock, position the sentiment from SNSS Faith Quote in the center, stamp with embossing ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing powder has cooled, apply a bit of white craft ink (to mimic chalk- I used my finger) and fussy-cut the frame.

Emboss a piece of white cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of black cardstock, add the crochet lace and gingham ribbon before mounting the entire panel onto the white card base.

Mount the SNSS Faith Quote Blocks panel with dimensional foam and add the rolled flowers and leaves.

Close-up to see a bit of the sparkle on the roses :-)
Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the roses to finish off the card.

I am going to link this card to the Word Art Wednesday #244-#245 “Anything Goes” Challenge as well as the Stampin’ Royalty SR352 “All That Glitters” Challenge (there is glitter on the roses- a bit difficult to see in the photo but very “sparkly” IRL).

If you have not had a chance to stop by the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps site yet or visit the above challenge sites, I hope you will find the time to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

Blessed By God- A Fun Watercolor Sketch

Hi Again Friends!

I wanted to share a card that I created last night using the SR303 ColorChallenge along with the Paper Craft Crew PCCCS170 Sketch Challenge and the Just Us Girls JUGS319 Watercolor Challenge.

If you have not already done so, I hope you will have the visit all of the above challenge sites to check out the inspiration from their fabulous Design Teams as well as their gallery entries!

To create this card:

Using Stāz-On® Jet Black, stamp the bird image and branch from An Open Heart onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the images using Stampin’ Write Markers- Tip Top Taupe, Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey.

Fussy-cut the bird image and add additional details with the Stampin’ Write Basic Black marker, set aside.

Spritz the branch image with water and create a horizon line with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker.

Add a bit of splatter using Tip Top Taupe Classic Ink and the splatter stamps from Gorgeous Grunge.

Trim the branch image and use the Banner Triple Punch to punch out the banner and mount onto a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock (also punching the banner with the punch).
Add a layered banner created with the Banner Triple Punch from Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon cardstock.

Add the Hello Honey banner behind the large stem banner.

Use Sponge Daubers to apply Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon Classic Ink onto the Watercolor Wash background stamp, spritz with water and lightly blot with a paper towel.

Place a piece of Whisper White cardstock over the background stamp, press into the ink and lift up.

Add the large splatters with Lost Lagoon and Tip Top Taupe Classic Ink.

Stamp the sentiment from Blessed by God using Tip Top Taupe Classic Ink.

Trim the panel, mount onto Lost Lagoon cardstock and mount onto the Hello Honey card base.

Add the Gold Cord Trim and mount the banner over the trim using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add the fussy cut bird to finish off the card.
