ODBDSLC283 As I Loved You

Hi Friends!

Just a reminder that there is still time to play along with us at the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light ODBDSLC283 Inspiration Challenge!

Don’t forget- you have until March 5, 2017 to join us for a chance to be spotlighted for the Shining the Light award or to win a $15 ODBD gift certificate (one random participant will be chosen).  To be spotlighted for the Shining the Light Award, you must use ODBD stamps (or stamps from our sister companies: North Coast Creations or Artistic Outpost available at Our Daily Bread Designs).

I just love this beautiful photo- don’t you? All of the soft colors, beautiful lace and flowers, Scripture – just gorgeous and perfect for Weddings, Valentine’s Day, Birthdays, etc.

I decided to create a Clean and Simple (CAS) card showcasing the February ODBD Release items, Hugs & Kisses stamp set, ODBD Heavenly Hearts Dies and the previously released ODBD Dies- Pierced Squares and Bitty Blossoms.

If you have not had a chance to visit my ODBD Design Team Sister's blog yet and check out her fantastic project, I hope you will find time to do so:
Robin

To create this card:

1). On a piece of vanilla cardstock, die cut and emboss the largest heart from the ODBD Heavenly Hearts Dies.

2). Ink the verse sentiment from the ODBD Hugs & Kisses stamp set with embossing ink, stamp onto vanilla cardstock.  Apply gold embossing powder, heat set with the heat tool and once cooled, die cut and emboss the panel with the ODBD Pierced Squares Dies.

3). Score a few lines at the top and bottom of a piece of peach cardstock, mount this layer onto the vanilla card base and add the die cut square onto the card front.

4). Use a clear shimmer pen to add shimmer to the inside of the heart die (difficult to see in the photo).

5). Die cut and emboss vanilla cardstock with the ODBD Bitty Blossoms Dies, adhere the flower to the card front and add pearls to the corners as well as the flower center to finish off the card.

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by!  We hope you will be able to join us for the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light ODBDSLC283 Inspiration Challenge!

F4A365 Pretty Potted Florals Birthday

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a great week so far!
This card was designed for the Splitcoaststampers’ Free For All F4A365 “Pick a Combo” Challenge using the Pantone color chart for 2017 from Decoventure.

We were challenged to create our own color combination from the Pantone 2017 chart as long as one of the colors chosen is “Greenery” so I chose to pair Stampin’ Up! Wild Wasabi (Greenery) with Always Artichoke (Kale), Crushed Curry (Primrose Yellow), (Crushed Curry), Tangerine Tango (Flame) and a mix of blues (for Island Paradise).

I also used the Splitcoaststampers SC92 Sketch Challenge (from 10/04/2006- their challenges never expire) and will be linking this card to the Seize the Birthday 02/16/17 Challenge (I did not use the optional Seize the Toppings "Inlaid Dies" as part of my design).

To create this card:

1). Ink the SNSS Pretty Potted Florals with black ink and stamp onto white cardstock.

2). Color the image with alcohol markers along with water-based markers (I used a combination of Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and Stampin' Up! water based markers).  Add details with the Sharpie Extra Fine White Paint Pen to the center of the flower.

3). Die cut the image with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto black cardstock, trimming close to the edge.

4). Use a stencil brush to lightly stencil distress ink (I used Mowed Lawn) with a chevron stencil over a piece of white cardstock, trim and mount onto black cardstock, trim and mount onto the white card base.

5). Trim two pieces of designer paper into large rectangles and mount onto black cardstock (again trimming close to the edge).  Add the chevron patterned rectangle directly to the card front and add the bright orange panel with dimensional foam.

6). Use an embossing powder tool to prepare a scrap piece of black cardstock, ink the sentiment from SNSS Long Stem Silhouettes  clear stamp set with embossing ink and stamp onto the prepared strip of cardstock, apply white embossing powder and heat set with the heat tool.  Trim and create the flag banner with a hexagon or square punch (or by hand). Mount the onto the card front using dimensional foam on the far right hand side.

7). Finish off the card using a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the petals and flower pot.

Thanks again for taking the time to visit! I hope you will have a chance to check out the Splitcoaststampers’ Free for All Gallery and possibly create your own card using a color combination from the 2017 Pantone Color Chart.

Hugs and I hope you  have a blessed weekend, sweet friends

It’s time for The Card Concept #67 “Vintage” Challenge!  I love the vintage elements in our inspiration photo- the heart, metal tin, script background, browns as well as the gold!

I decided to create a Mixed Media Shabby Chic card using retired Stampin’ Up! stamp sets, French Script and Friendship’s Journey.  I love the vintage images and these stamps will remain part of my collection for years to come!

To create this card:

Friendship’s Journey image with Versamark™ Ink onto the prepared cardstock, apply  Stampin’ Emboss® Early Espresso Embossing Powder and heat set with the heat tool.  Once the embossing has cooled, water color with TH Brushed Cordoruy, Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo Distress Inks and apply TH Tarnished Brass Distress Stain to the heart, locket, flowers and other areas.

3). Hand tear around the entire panel, sponge additional TH Vintage Photo Distress Ink over the edges and mount onto the distressed script panel.
