Pure Prairie- Praying for You

Hi Friends!

This week has been a busy week organizing my craft/stamping area but I have managed to tale a bit of time to create a few cards :-)

If you have not had a chance to visit the challenge blogs yet, I encourage you to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Using a photo editing software import the Power Poppy digital images, Pure Prairie Bouquet and Roses and Chamomile (I used the retired My Digital Studio™ from Stampin’ Up! but you could use Microsoft Word or other software).  Enlarge the Pure Prairie image to fit a 4” x 5 ¼” panel and add the sentiment (enlarged a bit as well) onto a different part of the layout, print out onto a piece of 8 ½” x 11” Whisper White cardstock.

2). Die cut the panel using a stitched rectangle die, water color the image using an AquaPainter™ and watercolor pencils, graphite pencil and distress inks.

3). Mount the panel onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim close to the edge and adhere to the white card base.

4). Trim the sentiment, add the flag points using a hexagon punch, mount onto Basic Black cardstock and create the points again with the punch.  Mount the sentiment onto the card front with dimensional foam.

5). Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the petals and the butterfly.

6). Add white highlights to the flowers using an extra fine white paint pen to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Pure Prairie Bouquet, Roses and Chamomile (both digital- Power Poppy)

Ink/Mediums: Printer Ink- Black; Derwent™ Watercolor Pencils, Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils, Distress Inks, Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen, Extra Fine White Sharpie® Paint Pen

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black

Accessories/Tools: Big Shot™, MFT Die-namics™ Blueprints 20, AquaPainter™

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by and visit- hugs and I hope you have a great week!

Beary Merry Christmas

Hi Friends!

I am so far behind on creating Christmas cards for this year (I normally try to create approx. ten each month so I am not behind when it I time to mail) so I decided to use the CAS(E) This Sketch #226 Sketch Challenge along with the Merry Monday #253 “Bears” Challenge and the Happy Little Stampers June 2017 “Anything Goes” Christmas Challenge for the design of this card.

I have not inked this retired Stampin’ Up! Beary Merry Christmas (2000) in years and since I collect Boyd’s stuffed bears, I love this sweet image of the bear on his rocking horse.

If you have not had a chance to check out the challenge sites yet, I hope you will take the time to do so- gorgeous inspiration from the Design Teams as well as the galleries!

To create this card:

1). Ink the Beary Merry Christmas image and sentiment using archival black ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

2). Color the image with watercolor pencils, water soluble graphite pencil and Stampin’ Write Always Artichoke and Cherry Cobbler markers using an AquaPainter™ to blend the colors.

3). Trim the bear on the rocking horse image, mount onto Early Espresso cardstock and trim close to the edge.

4). Die cut the sentiment using the Circle Framelits™ and mount onto an Early Espresso circle die cut from the same size framelit™.

5). Emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Big Shot™ with the Tim Holtz™ Poinsettia Knit Embossing Folder, trim and mount onto Early Espresso cardstock, trim and mount onto Cherry Cobbler cardstock before adhering to the white card base.

6). Mount the bear image along with the sentiment using dimensional foam and apply a bit of shimmer to the mane, tail and saddle of the image using a clear glitter pen.

Stamp Sets: Beary Merry Christmas (Stampin’ Up!- retired 2000)

Ink/Mediums: Archival Black Ink. Derwent™ and Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils, Water-Soluble Graphic Pencil, Stampin’ Write Markers- Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler;  Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen

Paper: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso

TCC76 Strength For Today

Hi Friends!

It’s time for The Card Concept #76 “Romantic Roses” Challenge! Isn’t this a beautiful inspiration photo?

I love the deep red roses as well as the black and white and was inspired to create a Shabby Chic/Elegant and Classy card.

I decided to create a Shabby Chic/Elegant & Classy card with a "sneak peek" of a brand new stamp set, Hymn Blocks (designed by NinaB Designs) - this stamp will be part of the July release from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps (available the first Friday in July) and wow, I cannot wait for you to see the rest of the hymn blocks in this new set!  It has a wonderful selection of hymns perfect for card making as well as Bible Art Journaling, scrapbooking, home decor and so much more!!

I will also be linking this card to the Deep Ocean Challenge #157 "Die Cuts, Chipboard and/or Punches" Challenge (I used die cuts and punches on this card) and the Word Art Wednesday #288-#289 "Anything Goes" Challenge.

Again, if you have not had a chance to visit the challenge sites or SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Ink the Hymn Blocks image using Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock. Die cut with a stitched flag banner die and mount onto another flag banner die cut from black cardstock (this layer was already dry embossed and die cut in my stash).  Use a stencil brush with hickory smoke distress ink to stencil the horizontal lines (did not show well in the photo but I wanted to give the illusion of the shutters in the background).

2). Layer the designer papers onto a 5 ½” square white card base (I used retired paper from my massive stash).  Add the black organza ribbon and mount the focal image sentiment with dimensional foam.

3). Die cut and assemble the roses from cherry cardstock.  Punch the leaves from black cardstock and use a crimper tool to add texture.  Adhere the leaves to the back of the roses before mounting onto the card front.

4). Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the roses and a few black crystal drops as accents to finish off the card.

Thanks again for stopping by!  If you are able to join us, we would love to see your artwork in our gallery at The Card Concept!  Hugs and I hope all of you have a fabulous week!

CAS Beautiful You "Dress Up "

Hi Friends!

I have been busy the last few days organizing my craft storage room and decided to take a break and create a quick card for the CASOLOGY #253 “Clothes” Challenge using the colors from The Challenge #87 “Aqua, Orange and Hot Pink”Challenge.

When I was organizing my craft storage area (I am fortunate to have a 10’ x 11’  room dedicated to storage of all of my paper, punches, scrapbooks, fabric, etc. but I am not able to actually create in this room- too much “stuff” as my hubby says- lol!) I found a stash of “scraps”- die cuts, colored images, etc. that I had set aside for future use.  After several hours sorting these "scraps" and resolving now use these "found items",  I pulled out a previously die cut dress and rose for this quick card.

To create this card:

1). On a folded piece of heavy duty white cardstock, use a sponge dauber with the Memory Box™ Zippy Dots stencil and apply Pool Party along with Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink to the background.

2). Tear off a few strips of Washi Tape (various manufacturers) and apply on a diagonal.  Stamp the sentiment from Beautiful You (Stampin’ Up!) with Melon Mambo Classic Ink.

3). Apply a strip of Washi Tape to the dress die cut (this was one of my “found” pieces- previously cut from retired SU! Venetian Romance DSP using the retired Dress Up Framelits™).  To cover the vanilla background of the designer paper (and bring more pink into the design) use a Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker to color the entire dress and blend the color with an AquaPainter™.  Once dry, adhere to the card front with dimensional foam.

4). Attach the Pool Party rose (another item from my stash- previously die cut with the My Favorite Things™ Mini Royal Rose Die).

5). Apply shimmer to the dress and rose with a Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Beautiful You (Stampin’ Up!)

Ink/Mediums: Classic Ink-Melon Mambo, Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie; Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker, Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen

Paper: Pool Party, White Heavy Duty Cardstock (from my stash), Venetian Romance retired Stampin’ Up!

Accessories: Big Shot™, retired Dress Up Framelits™, MFT Mini Royal Rose Dies, Memory Box™ Zippy Dots Stencil, Sponge Daubers, misc. Washi Tape

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- I hope you have a fabulous weekend!
