Friends Never Fade- Final Card from Inspiration Photo :-)

Hi There Stampers!!

This is the sixth and final card that I created yesterday based on the terrific SR199 Stampin’ Royalty Inspiration Photo and a modified version of the Splitcoaststampers SC449 Sketch Challenge.

Hopefully, if you have not done so yet,  you find the time to you will visit their sites and check out all of the fabulous designs!!

If you have not been following this card series and are wondering why I created six cards from one inspiration challenge, I have more details in my first post here  :-)

To create this card:

Using My Digital Studio (MDS) print out the Friends Never Fade image onto Very Vanilla cardstock using the black printer ink (re-size the image a bit).

To distress the image a bit, color in the flower/sentiment area using Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write markers and when dry add a few highlights with the Chalk Marker.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Chalk Talk  Framelit™ to cut out a tag from Very Vanilla cardstock and cover using scraps of the retired Newsprint DSP.  Distress by hand and with the Distressing Tool and use a Sponge Daubler to sponge on Crumb Cake Classic Ink.

Mount onto scrap pieces of Basic Black cardstock (previously embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder).

Add the Very Vanilla rolled flowers and the black satin ribbon bow.  FYI- the rolled flowers were created with 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punch, cut a wavy spiral toward the center, roll up and adhere with MultiPurpose glue, sponge with Crumb Cake Classic Ink and add the Pearl in the center.

Distess a piece of retired Newsprint DSP with the Distressing Tool and use a Sponge Daubler to sponge on Crumb Cake Classic Ink.  Add to the Basic Black card base.

Add the distressed Newsprint center with the crochet trim (from my stash) to the panel.  To distress this layer, crumble the DSP by hand and lightly sand with the Sanding Block.  Sponge with Crumb Cake and Early Espresso Classic Ink, add the Basic Black cardstock strip at the top and bottom before adhering the crochet trim).

Add the Pearls  to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Friends Never Fade (MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Stampin’ Write Markers- Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand

Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, retired Newsprint DSP

Accessories: Sponge Dauber, Distressing Tool, 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punch, Pearls, Black Satin Ribbon  and Crochet Lace(from my stash)

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- I had a great time creating these cards yesterday from scraps and “stash” items (although still barely made a dent :-)))

Hope all of you have a fabulous Monday!!

SR199 Card #5- Photo Inspiration and Sketch

Hi Again Stampers!!

This is the fifth card created based on the wonderful SR199 Stampin’ Royalty PhotoInspiration as well as a modified version of the Splitcoaststampers SC459 Sketch.

Hopefully, if you have not done so yet, you will visit each of the sites/galleries- such inspiration by all!

If you are wondering why I created six cards from one inspiration challenge, I have more details in my first post here  :-)

To create this card:

Using My Digital Studio (MDS) print out the Green Tea flower image and the sentiment from Friendly Words onto Very Vanilla cardstock using the black printer ink.

***Note*** The Green Tea stamp brush set may be a MDS exclusive set since I do not recall this one in rubber- also I am not sure if it is included with the newer MDS program but I love the images!

Use the Big Shot™ with the Deco Labels Framelit™ to cut out the flower image and the Apothecary Accents Framelits™ to cut out the sentiment (also cut another piece from Basic Black cardstock to frame the sentiment).

Layer the focal image die cut onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, rounding the corners using the Envelope Punch Board.   Add the black satin double ribbon bow at the bottom.

Cut part of the black die cut for the sentiment away to create a partial frame and adhere to the focal image.

Mount the scrap pieces of the retired checkerboard and polka dot background papers to a piece of Basic Black cardstock (I used scrap strips of Basic Black to create the layer behind the polka dot piece as well).

Add the background panel to a Very Vanilla card base and attach the focal image/sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add a few Pearls (of course) to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Green Tea, Friendly Words (both MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black

Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, retired Neutrals background papers

Accessories: Big Shot™, Deco Labels Framelit™, Apothecary Accents Framelits™,  Pearls, Black Satin Ribbon (from my stash)

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- only one more card to go!! Have fun creating and stamping!

True Friend- Poppies, Polka Dots and Gingham :-)

Hi Again Stampers!!

This is the fourth card created based on the wonderful SR199 Stampin’ Royalty Photo Inspiration as well as the Splitcoaststampers SC459 Sketch and the CC449 ColorChallenge

Hopefully you will find the time to visit each of the sites/galleries- check out the Design Team samples as well as the other entries (great job by all!)

Again, if you have been following this series of cards inspired by the SR199 photo, you will know that I used very limited supplies along with pre-printed My Digital Studio images (if interested, more details for that decision are here :-))

To create this card:

Using My Digital Studio (MDS) print out the Pleasant Poppies (I re-sized this image) along with the sentiment from Simple Friendship onto Whisper White cardstock.

Using the retired SU! Watercolor Pencils, color the Pleasant Poppies image with the pencil closest to Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive colors.

Create the shadow using the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker and add more definition and details to the petals using the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write marker.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Finishing Touches Edglelit™ to cut a border on a piece of Basic Black cardstock and adhere the poppy image at the top.

Add the gingham ribbon bow (from my stash) along with a scrap piece of polka dot background paper above the die cut edge and add the sentiment below the ribbon (punched from the retired small oval punch).

Adhere two strips of the retired polka dot background paper to the Basic Black card base, add the darker polka dot layer and mount the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals™.

Of course, add a few Pearls to finish off the card :-).

Stamp Sets:  Pleasant Poppies, Simple Friendship (both MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, SU! Watercolor Pencils, Stampin’ Write Marker- Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, retired Neutrals background papers

Accessories: Big Shot™, Finishing Touches Edglelit™, retired Small Oval Punch, Pearls, gingham ribbon (from my stash)

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- only two more cards to post…

Hope you are having a great evening!

True Friends- A Sketch and Photo Inspiration

Hi Again Stampers!!

This is the third card  created based on the wonderful SR199 Stampin’ Royalty PhotoInspiration as well as the PP169 Sketch at The Paper Players

I truly hope you will have the time to visit each site and check out the Design Team samples as well as the other wonderful entries...

Again, I used very limited supplies and have more details for the reasoning behind that decision here :-)

To create this card:

Using the Big Shot™ emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Adhere the retired piece of checkerboard background paper to scrap strips of Basic Black cardstock (I have numerous strips left over from trimming and if it is a small frame, I can add the strips without anyone knowing it is not a solid piece of cardstock- oops, until now :-))

Adhere the checkerboard panel to the embossed Woodgrain background, add the black satin ribbon strip (from my stash) with the three little banners (also from retired background papers) and mount the entire panel onto the Basic Black card base.

Create the tag from Basic Black cardstock using the Big Shot™ and the Chalk Talk Framelits™.

Attach the black satin triple ribbon bow at the top of the tag.  Add the the sentiment (a pre-printed My Digital Studio (MDS) image onto Whisper White cardstock punched out with the 1 ¾” Circle Punch and mounted onto 1 ¾” Circles from Basic Black carstock) along with the cat die (cut from Sahara Sand cardstock and stamped with the Mixed Bunch flower using Sahara Sand Classic Ink).

To finish off the card, add the Rhinestones in the three different sizes along the top left for the sketch, the collar on the cat and the lower right (just because :-)).

Stamp Sets:  Friendly Words (MDS), Mixed Bunch (on the cat- hard to see)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Sahara Sand,

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, retired Neutrals background papers

Accessories: Big Shot™, Woodgrain Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Chalk Talk Framelits™, 1 ¾” Circle Punch, Rhinestones, cat die cut (non SU!), black satin ribbon (from my stash)

Thanks again for stopping by- I still have three more cards to post!!  Hope you are having fun creating in your craft space!

Imagine the Possibilites- A Kitty Cat Stroll

Hi Again Stampers!!

This is the second card that I created using the wonderful SR199 Stampin' Royalty Inspiration Photo (I have created six cards based off this photo using scraps and pre-printed images- if interested, more details are on the first post here).

This card was also inspired by the CAS242 Clean and Simple (CAS) Challenge at Splitcoaststampers to create a card featuring pets or holiday pets- if you cannot tell already, I love cats and recently found a few cat dies that I was just "dying" to use - lol!!

I hope you will take the time to visit both sites- great inspiration and projects!!

To create this card:

Using the Big Shot™ emboss a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with the retired Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and adhere the Basic Black card base.
Create the focal panel using My Digital Studio (MDS) and stamp brush set images from Hello, Lovely and Word Play - print two of the square motifs onto Very Vanilla cardstock and punch out with the 1 ¼” Square Punch.

Cut the banner points on the end of the sentiment by hand or you could use a square or hexagon punch.

Adhere the two Hello, Lovely squares to a 2 ½” square piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Mount the Polka Dot background paper (retired years ago) onto two scrap strips of Basic Black cardstock (this is a way to save on postage and cardstock- no one is the wiser, until now- lol!).

Add to the Basic Black card base along with the White Tea Lace Paper Doily (FYI-  I sponged Very Vanilla Craft Ink onto the Doily before adhering to the background panel).

Add the sentiment banner using Stampin’ Dimensionals®  along with the Pearls  and the die cut kitty to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Hello, Lovely and Word Play (both MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Very Vanilla Craft Ink

Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, retired Neutrals background papers

Accessories: Big Shot™,  retired Lacy BrocadeTextured Impressions™ Embossing Folder,  1 ¼” Square Punch, White Tea Lace Paper Doily, Pearls, cat die cut (non SU!)

Thanks again for visiting- have a great evening!

Thanks for Caring- An Inspirational Photo and Sketch Challenge

Hi Stampers!!

I had a great day relaxing yesterday and hope all of you had a wonderful weekend as well!  I just love this week’s Stampin’ Royalty’sSR199 Inspiration Photo- the neutral color palette as well as the checks and polka dots!  When I look at this photo, I can just imagine the crisp autumn days in preparation for the holidays ahead.

Now, I have a confession :-) I have been a SU! Demonstrator for 14 years now and have not sold any of my retired sets- I love them so much!  Not to mention Designer Series papers, the patterned papers prior to the double-sided DSP that we now offer, watercolor pencils, pastels, wheels, retired inks and cardstock, you name it, I love it and have kept it all of these years!

The problem is that my craft room is so crowded that I need to start using up some of the older supplies.   When I saw this photo, it reminded me of the really old retired background papers (prior to even being called Designer Paper) and I knew I had numerous My Digital Studio (MDS) images ready to go on Very Vanilla cardstock as well as Whisper White (again, printed from previous projects to “fill” up the page and pre-cut with dies and or punches), so I decided for this challenge, I would limit my supplies.

I pulled out those old background papers that had checkerboard and polka dot patterns and the MDS images along with some other retired DSP, ribbon and misc. supplies from my massive "stash" :-).

This was actually liberating as I limited myself to create with scraps, previously cut and embossed pieces of cardstock and the above items.

I had so much fun that I created six different designs that were all inspired by the SR199 Stampin’ RoyaltyInspiration Photo (thanks SR Design Team) as well as a few other sketch/theme challenges- I will be creating separate posts for each card:-)

The first card based on the SR199 Inspiration photo utilizes the CAS(E) This Sketch#51 Challenge and was very quick and easy to make.

To create this CAS card:

Use the Big Shot™ with the Pretty Print Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock and layer this onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Add the retired Night and Day herringbone paper DSP to the top of the card front, add the gray lace along with the black satin ribbon bow (misc. supplies from my "stash").

Attach the My Digital Studio (MDS) sentiment from Thanks for Caring (re-sized, printed onto Whisper White cardstock, punched out with the XL Oval Punch and layered onto two additional XL Ovals punched from Basic Black cardstock).

Add a few Pearls to the top right hand corner to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Thanks for Caring (MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, retired Night and Day DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™,  Pretty Print Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder,  XL Oval Punch,  Pearls, Lace and Satin Ribbon (from my stash)

Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous Monday!

If interested, as I create the other posts for the additional five cards, I will be add the "links" to this post for those cards...so stay tuned -).

Merry Christmas-Watercolor Joy :-)

Hi Again Stampers!

Once I start designing and stamping it is hard for me to stop so I decided to create one more card this evening (well, morning now :-)).

I wanted to create a card using the Pals PaperArts PPA177 Sketch and chose to use the CC449 Splitcoaststampers ColorChallenge- Old Cobblers Sand  plus this qualifies as one of my Christmas cards for the CCC13 Splitcoaststampers Challenge as well :-)  Both of these sites provide tremendous inspiration- hope you find the time to visit them soon!

To create this card:

Ink the background stamp, En Francais using Sahara Sand Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock.   Trim to size and distress the edges with the Distressing Tool (I used our new tool for this card and it really distresses the cardstock- will need to have a lighter hand next time :-)).  Use the Envelope Punch Board to round the corners at the bottom.

Stamp the poinsettia and leaf images from Joyful Christmas using Stazon™ Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  Using the AquaPainter™, pick up Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink from the ink pad and apply to the petals and color the leaves with the Stampin’ Write Old Olive Marker.  Once dry, add the Chalk Marker highlights to the petals along the veins.

Carefully cut out the flower and leaves, mount onto the Sahara Sand layer and curl up the leaves and petals a bit.

Layer the Sahara Sand focal image panel onto a distressed piece of Cherry Cobbler (also round the corners with the Envelope Punch Board) and then again, onto another piece of distressed Sahara Sand cardstock (also stamped with the En Francais using Sahara Sand Classic Ink) and finally mount onto the Cherry Cobbler card base.

Stamp the sentiment from More Merry Messages using Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink onto Sahara Sand cardstock, trim to size and use the XL Oval Punch to round off the end near the beginning of the sentiment and the Hexagon Punch to create the banner points.

Layer the sentiment onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and use the punches to mirror the original oval and banner points
.
Add the Pearls to the center of the poinsettia as well as the corner to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Joyful Christmas, More Merry Messages, En Francais

Ink: Stazon™ Jet Black, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Sahara Sand

Paper:  Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Sahara Sand

Accessories:  Punches- XL Oval, Hexagon, Distressing Tool, Chalk Marker, Pearls

Thanks again for visiting- have a wonderful Sunday!

Country Style Prayers with a Twist

Hi Stampers!

I am still trying to "improve" my Clean and Simple  (CAS) style (which does not come naturally to me) so I decided to try using the FMS109 Freshly Made Sketch (I flipped the sketch- therefore the "twist" :-)) and incorporate the CASology #67 Theme- Country.

If you have the time, stop by and visit each site- both have wonderful Design Teams and many entries for inspiration galore!

I know that this card has a few more layers than what most would consider CAS, but for me, this is Clean and Simple :-)  As I mentioned above, a work in progess- lol!!

To create this card:

In My Digital Studio (MDS), open a blank 8.5 x 11 custom page and insert the Countryside truck and the Thoughts and Prayers sentiment- re-size and print onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

*** Hint **** Whenever printing images in MDS for card making, fill up your page before printing with other images that you may use in the future (make sure that you leave enough room for cutting with punches and dies).   This card was quick and easy since I already had both of these images in my “stash” plus the truck was already cut out with the Oval Framelit™ and ready to go!

Color the truck image using a Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker and cut out with the Big Shot™ and the Oval Collections Framelits™.

On a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock, stamp the Off the Grid and Gorgeous Grunge stamps using Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake Classic Ink.  Mount onto a piece of Elegant Eggplant and again onto the Basic Black card base.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Window Frames Collection Framelits™ to cut out the window frame from Basic Black cardstock and mount the truck image to the oval area.  Trim off the ends of the “window” at the top and bottom- add the Elegant Eggplant Designer Series Paper pieces (mounted onto Basic Black with the trimmed ovals from the previous step on the ends- I do not like to waste paper).

For the sentiment-use the XL Oval Punch to round off the end at the beginning of the image and the Hexagon Punch to create the banner/flag points.  Adhere this to a scrap piece of Basic Black cardstock and repeat the steps with the punches to create the frame for the sentiment.

Add the Elegant Eggplant button (with the Basic Black cardstock “thread” strip in the center) and adhere the entire focal image panel to the card  using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Stamp Sets:  Countryside, Thoughts and Prayers– both MDS

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Stampin’ Write Marker- Sahara Sand

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Elegant Eggplant, Elegant Eggplant DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Ovals Collection and Window Frames Collection Framelits™, XL Oval and Hexagon Punches (for sentiment), Elegant Eggplant button (retired Regals Collection)

Thanks again for stopping by!  We have been praying for a dear friend who is struggling with health issues and loves the Ravens, so this card will be for him!

Hope all of you have a great weekend- God Bless!

JAI188 Sunset in the Mountains

Hi Stampers!!

I have had a very busy week and I wanted to spend a bit of time in my craft room this evening and finish up a card that I started a few days ago.  This card was created for the Just Add Ink JAI188 Just Add Grunge Challenge and as a reminder of a recent vacation that we took to Shenandoah National Park (once the furlough was lifted).  We saw a mother bear and her cub- they were so cute!!  Love traveling the Skyline Drive with my husband- a relaxing and fun day!!

If you have not had a chance to drop in and see the designs from the Just Add Ink team, I hope you will take a moment to do so- they have a terrific Design Team and the entries each week are fabulous as well!

To create this card:

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, create a mask using sticky notes and sponge Classic Ink from Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Tangerine Tango to create the “scene”.  Stamp the trees from Lovely As A Tree using Early Espresso Classic Ink.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Circle Framelits to cut out the image and lightly sand the edge with the Sanding Block.  Mount onto a circle cut from the 2 ½” XL Circle Punch from Early Espresso and again onto a circle of Basic Gray (also from the 2 ½” XL Circle Punch- cut into two and layered beyond the Early Espresso, trimming the edges to “merge” behind the Early Espresso circle).

On a piece of Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper, add the additional “grunge” details with stamps from Gorgeous Grunge and Off the Grid stamp sets and Crumb Cake and Basic Gray Classic Ink.

Distress the edges of the DSP using the Distressing Tool and add the strip of Satin Ribbon.  Mount onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and stamp the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes using Early Espresso Classic Ink.

Add the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Lovely As A Tree, Gorgeous Grunge, Off the Grid, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Basic Gray, Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry, Old Olive

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray, Early Espresso. Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper

Accessories: Big Shot™, Circle Collection Framelits™, 2 ½” XL Circle Punch, Distressing Tool, Sponge Daubers, Satin Ribbon (from my stash)

Thanks again for visiting- have a great Saturday!

SUO82 Harvest Blessings All Season Long

Hi Stampers!

The SUO82 SU-Only Challenge is “Harvest” and I decided to use two of my favorite sets from the Holiday Mini- Truly Grateful and Harvest of Thanks.

I hope you will stop by to visit the SU-Only Challenge site and check out the rest of the Design Team!!  If you have a chance, we would love to see your “Harvest” card using Stampin’ Up! Only products :-)

Start by stamping the wheat image and Harvest of Thanks image onto Very Vanilla cardstock using Early Espresso Classic Ink.   Color the images using Stampin’ Write Markers in Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Soft Sky, Sahara Sand and Early Espresso.  Use the Early Espresso marker with the Color Spritzer Tool (retired) to add a bit of distressing.

Use the Big Shot™ to cut out the wheat image using the Ovals Collection Framelits™ (also cut the same size oval from Early Espresso cardstock- split this oval in half horizontally).  Layer behind the wheat image so that part of the frame shows – split area is at the side of the image.

Hand cut the Harvest of Thanks image and cut the lower part with the “All Season Long” by hand and curve around the image.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Apothecary Accents Framelits™ to cut a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and cut the label in half.   Adhere the upper part of the Harvest of Thanks image onto the label and the lower half of the label, adhere behind the curved part of the label.

Add the Harvest of Thanks image to the upper part of the wheat oval image and the curved “All Season Long” at the bottom of the wheat image.

Add the split Decorative Label (in Early Espresso cardstock) on the sides of the oval and adhere this panel to the embossed Sweater Weather DSP panel (with the Big Shot™ and Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder).

Mount onto an Early Espresso layer and again onto the Crushed Curry card base.  Add the Tangerine Tango Candy Dots to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Truly Grateful, Harvest of Thanks

Ink: Early Espresso, Stampin’ Write Markers- Early Espresso, Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Soft Sky, Sahara Sand

Paper/Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Sweater Weather DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™,  Ovals Collection and Apothecary Accents Framelits™, Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Tangerine Tango Candy Dots, Color Spritzer Tool

Thanks again for stopping by to visit-  I hope you can join us for our Harvest Challenge!
