Just Believe- My Grace is Sufficient

Hi Friends!

I am finally having a chance to upload some of the cards that I designed recently and this card uses a set by Altenew, Just Because and a verse from the retired Verve stamp set, Scripture Medley 4.

I am still working on inking up stamps that I have not inked before- this is only the second card that I have created with this image from the Just Believe stamp set and I do not recall ever inking up this particular verse sentiment from the Verve set.

This was a very simple card to design- I stamped all of the images in a black archival ink and colored the florals with alcohol markers.

Once I was satisfied with the colors, I used a clear glitter pen on the petals of the flowers and an extra fine white paint pen to add highlights.

Trimmed the panel and mounted onto black cardstock before adhering to a white card base- quick and easy!  Compared to my normal layering, distressing, etc. style, this is Clean and Simple (CAS) for me.

I wanted to participate with a few online challenges so I am linking this card to the Retro Rubber Blog Challenge #134 “Spring Flowers” and the CAS on Friday #179 “Use Your Fav Flower Stamp”- this Altenew floral stamp set is fast becoming one of my favs and the main floral panel is all one layer :-)

The Retro Rubber Challenge Blog requires that you use stamps that are at least a year or more older- the Altenew, Just Because set is from 2018 and the Verve Scripture Medley 4 stamp set is from 2017.

Stamp Sets: Just Because (Altenew), Scripture Medley 4 (retired Verve Stamps)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Spectrum Noir™ Alcohol Markers- OR1, LG3, CG1, CG3, DP2, DP3, VB2, AP2, BGR1; Spectrum Noir™ Glitter Pen, Extra Fine White Paint Pen

Cardstock/Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black

Accessories: MISTI™ Stamping Tool

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- hugs and I hope you have a blessed week!

Hi Stampers!

I hope all of you had a wonderful day!

On to another farewell to a favorite set- this time to Just Believe, a wonderfully versatile group of stamps:-)

I loved using this set with markers to color the flowers or embossing- perfect for the sponged backgrounds.

Thinking of You- Two Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!

I finally had a chance to spend some time in my craft room to stamp and decided to use the colors from this week’s CQC155ColourQ Challenge and incorporate the CCCB127 City Crafter Blog Challenge to use “inchies”.  If you have not had a chance to do so, try to take a moment to visit the challenge sites (what great examples from both Design Teams!) :-)

To create this  card:

On Whisper White cardstock, stamp the floral circle from Just Believe using Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink and color using SU! markers- Old Olive, SO Saffron and retired Pale Plum.

Punch out the image with the 1 ¼” Circle Punch and layer onto a Whisper White circle (punched with the 1 3/8” Circle Punch).   Layer again onto a square punched with the 1 3/8” Square Punch and adhere this to Rich Razzleberry cardstock (I trimmed around the Rich Razzleberry layer with the Paper Cutter but you could use a 1 ½” Square Punch).

Use the Big Shot™ to emboss a piece of Old Olive DSP (retired Cottage Wall) with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.  Lightly sand the Old Olive layer with the Sanding Block to expose the white core.

Layer the elements onto Rich Razzleberry cardstock and add the inchies using SU! Dimensionals.  Add the pearls and sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Just Believe, Kind & Caring Thoughts (retired Hostess set)

Ink: Rich Razzleberry, SU! Markers- Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, So Saffron, retired Pale Plum

Paper: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, retired Cottage Wall DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Lacy Brocade and Delicate Designs Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders,  Punches- 1 ¼” and 1 3/8” Circle, 1 3/8” Square, XL Oval; Pearls, SU! Dimensionals

Thanks again for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful week stamping!

Color and a Sketch- Another Two in One!

Hi Again Stampers!

I have one more card to share that I created this weekend using the colors from the HSSCC112Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge along with the FMS29 Freshly MadeSketch Challenge. If you have a chance, stop by and see the Design Team samples along with all of the other entries!

I decided to flip the sketch and the card was fairly quick and easy card (since I primarily used scraps :-)):

Color the large floral stamp from Just Believe using Stampin’ Write Markers in Rich Razzleberry and Early Espresso- stamp onto Very Vanilla cardstock.

Mount onto Early Espresso cardstock and again onto Pretty In Pink cardstock- add the punched corners (scraps from Herringbone embossed piece of Early Espresso and punched using the retired Photo Corner Punch).  Create the focal panel from a piece of Early Espresso (embossed with the Square Lattice EF- from my scrap bag) along with layers in Rich Razzleberry (again a scrap piece embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper EF) and Very Vanilla (embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots EF- another scrap).  Punch the edges with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.

Adhere the 5/8” Rich Razzleberry Satin Ribbon bow (retired) and mount the entire panel onto a piece of Pretty In Pink and again onto Early Espresso cardstock.  Add the pearls and sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Just Believe, Short and Sweet

Ink: Early Espresso, Stampin’ Write markers- Rich Razzleberry and Early Espresso

Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Pretty in Pink, Rich Razzleberry

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders- Square Lattice, Perfect Polka Dots, Herringbone, Vintage Wallpaper; Punches- Scallop Trim Border, Word Window, Photo Corner (retired) 5/8” Rich Razzleberry Satin Ribbon (retired), Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you have a wonderful week stamping and creating!

Spring Has Sprung- Three in One!

Hi Stampers!

The weather here has been so spring-like this month that The Paper Players PP85 “Spring Has Sprung” Challenge seemed perfect!

I decided to create a card using the “Spring” theme along with the FMS25 FreshlyMade Sketch and the CQC127 ColourQ colors.  All of the Design Teams and entries at both of these sites are wonderfully inspiring- if you have time, check them out!

To create this card:

Color the floral image with Stampin’ Write markers in Certainly Celery, Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride- “huff” and stamp the image onto Whisper White cardstock.

Mount the focal image onto a layer of Chocolate Chip (punched on the edge with the Scallop Trim Border Punch). Add the 5/16” Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon bow and pearls.
The sentiment was created using the same floral image (“huff” on the stamp to re-moisten the ink), layering the Chocolate Chip and Blushing Bride cardstock (punched with the XL Oval Punch).

Create the rolled flowers using the 1 3/8” Circle Punch- run each circle through the Crimper Tool, cut a spiral and roll up into a flower.  Add the pearl centers to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Just Believe, Love and Sympathy

Paper: Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery DSP, Everyday Enchantment DSP

Ink: Stampin’ Write markers- Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Punches- 1 3/8” Circle, XL Oval, Scallop Trim; Crimper Tool, Pearls, 5/16” Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you have a wonderful week stamping :-)

You're Special to Me!

Hi Stampers!

Perfectionist!  That is what my mother used to call me and I do not believe that I have outgrown the tendency- sometimes it works in my favor and sometimes not:-)

Take for example the card that I made for this week’s  Paper Pals PPA114Celebrity Color Challenge along with the JAI88 Just Add A Die Cut Challenge.    While it was a CAS card that utilized the colors, I could not shake the feeling that I had a different card in mind when I started, so this evening I decided to make another card with the same colors and limit myself to 15 minutes (once the design was determined).

Thankfully, I save everything (another habit of mine- good and bad:-)) and was able to utilize many “scraps” in making this card…

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ along with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss the Lucky Limeade layer.   Also, while you are using the Big Shot™, cut a piece of Whisper White with the Top Note Bigz™ Die and stamp the sentiment at the bottom of the diecut.  Trim the remainder of the Top Note off and save for another card (see, soon you will have plenty of scraps as well:-)).

On a small piece of Pumpkin Pie Designer Series Paper, stamp the floral image with Rich Razzleberry and “huff” on the stamp to re-moisten the ink and stamp off on the sentiment die cut (to tone down the white).

Use the Color Spritzer Tool and the Stampin’ Write Rich Razzleberry marker to “spritz” your card (do this before you mount onto any of the other layers, unlike me and I had to mask the layers so the spritzing would not spray onto the Whisper White- live and learn..,).

Mount the floral stamped image onto a layer of Rich Razzleberry cardstock.  Adhere the 5/8” Rich Razzleberry Satin Ribbon bows and layer again onto Whisper White and Rich Razzleberry.

Layer the focal image onto the Lucky Limeade layer with the Top Note sentiment at the bottom and mount this entire panel onto Rich Razzleberry.  Add the pearls in the corner to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Just Believe, Blessings from Heaven

Ink: Rich Razzleberry (Classic Ink and Stampin’ Write marker)

Cardstock:  Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Top Note Bigz™ Die, Color Spritzer Tool, 5/8” Rich Razzleberry Satin Ribbon, Pearls

Great!  Now I can rest easier since this was the card I originally wanted to design:-)

Thanks again for stopping by- heaven knows that you are special to me!

Belated Birthday- Three in One!

Hi Stampers!

I have so many birthdays in September that I am having a hard time keeping up, so I decided to create a “belated” birthday card, just in case…:-)

This card incorporates the bright fun colors of this week’s ColourQ CQC103 Challenge along with the Freshly Made FMS3Sketch Challenge ( as you can see, I flipped the sketch and moved the embellishments to the left for balance:-)).

Also,  since it has flowers it qualifies for The PaperPlayers PP64 Animals or Plants Challenge.

If you have the time, check out the links above to each site, the samples are gorgeous!

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ and emboss a piece of Wisteria Wonder with the Finial Press Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and a piece of Poppy Parade with the Petals—A-Plenty Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Use Stampin’ Write markers in Pear Pizzazz, Wisteria Wonder and Calypso Coral to color the flower image and stamp the image onto Whisper White cardstock (I colored a few of the flowers with Calypso Coral and then added a bit of Wisteria Wonder to tie the two together).

Trim and mount onto Poppy Parade (not to be confused with how I originally posted this color on Splitcoast and continually try to type it - with one less “p” and an additional “o”-oops, talk about embarrassing!) and then again onto Whisper White cardstock.

Use the Lace Ribbon Border Punch with Whisper White to create the border along the bottom.  Use the 1 3/8” Circle Punch along with the Crimper Tool to create the rolled flowers from Wisteria Wonder and Calypso Coral cardstock.

Adhere all of the layers together, add the sentiment (also using markers to color) and finish off with pearls.

Stamp Sets:  Just Believe, Happiest Birthday Wishes (hostess set)

Ink: None- all Stampin’ Write Markers- Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade, Wisteria Wonder

Cardstock:  Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade, Wisteria Wonder

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Finial Press Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Petals—A-Plenty Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Punches- Decorative Label, 1 3/8” Circle, Lace Ribbon Border, Bird Builder, Crimper Tool, Pearls

So what do you think?  I personally tend to gravitate more to the burgundy hue of red versus the orange, but I must admit, the more I use Poppy Parade and combine it with other colors, the more it is starting to “grow” on me.  I believe it looks crisp with the Wisteria Wonder and White- so is it starting to “grow” on you too?

Thanks again for stopping by!   I hope all of you have a wonderful, relaxing weekend!

Belated Birthday- Three in One!

Hi Stampers!
I hope all of you had a relaxing Labor Day weekend!
My husband had to work part of today but we were able to enjoy some time together this afternoon (watching the US Open).

You can never have too many birthday cards, so I created this card for The Paper Players PP62 Birthday Challenge using the colors from this week's Pals Paper Arts PPA109 Celebrity Color Challenge and the Just Add Ink JAI83 Sketch Challenge (you may notice that this card is a "Belated Birthday"- it seems as though I do tend to miss a few:-).

The Big Shot made quick work of this card- a bit of Embossing (Herringbone and new Snow Burst EF), Die Cuts- 3” Originals™ Circle Die, Fun Flowers Bigz™ L Die (stamp the Calypso Coral flower with the background stamp in Basic Gray, run through the Crimper).  Add a few Punches- Decorative Label Punch, Lace Ribbon Border Punch, 2 ½” Circle Punch and a few Stampin' Write Markers- Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Riding Hood Red (use the Color Spritzer Tool with the Basic Gray marker) for stamping and the card was almost finished!  Finish off with some sponging, spray with Frost White Shimmer Paint, add a Corduroy Button and of course, a few Pearls.  If you have any questions regarding any of the techniques, please feel free to ask:-)

Stamp Sets:  Just Believe, Flores suaves, Happiest Birthday Wishes (hostess)

Ink: Basic Gray, Stampin’ Write Markers- Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Riding Hood Red

Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Riding Hood Red

Accessories:  Big Shot™, 3” Originals™ Circle Die, Fun Flowers Bigz™ L Die, Herringbone Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Snow Burst Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Decorative Label Punch, Lace Ribbon Border Punch, 2 ½” Circle Punch, Crimper, Color Spritzer Tool, Sponge Daubers, Pearls, Frost White Shimmer Paint Spray (mixed with 70% alcohol), Basic Gray Corduroy Button (retired)

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you have a blessed week!

Another Get Well Card- Two Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!

I love the colors from this week’s CQC95 ColourQ Challenge (isn't that owl adorable?:-)) so I decided to create another Get Well Card with the ColourQ colors and this week’s CCMC160 Sketch from Create with Connie andMary.

Again, the Design Teams from both sites have so many inspirational projects not to mention all of the submissions- enough ideas for weeks!

To create this card:

Use the Brayer to apply Early Espresso ink onto the smooth side of the Vintage Wallpaper EF and emboss a piece of Calypso Coral with the Big Shot.

Stamp the En Francais background stamp in Early Espresso onto a piece of Pool Party cardstock.  Trim to size and distress the edges with the Distressing Tool and by hand, sponge with Early Espresso ink.

Use SU! Markers in Early Espresso, Island Indigo and Calypso Coral to color the floral image from Just Believe and stamp onto Whisper White.  Sponge the edges and mount onto Early Espresso.

Layer the focal images and 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon.

Color the sentiment with the Island Indigo and Early Espresso markers and stamp onto Whisper White.  Punch out with the Decorative Label Punch and “huff” onto the floral stamp to re-moisten the marker “ink”, stamp over the sentiment.  Sponge the edges with Early Espresso and mount onto another Decorative Label piece of Early Espresso (cut in half and edges trimmed to create a frame for the first label).

Adhere to the card and attach the bow with a Mini Glue Dot.  Use the Color Spritzer Tool with an Early Espresso marker to further distress the background and focal images.
Attach the pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:   Just Believe, Sincere Sentiment, En Francais
Ink: Early Espresso, SU! Markers in Early Espresso, Calypso Coral and Island Indigo
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Early Espresso
Accessories:  Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper EF, 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon (retired), Pearls, Decorative Label Punch, Color Spritzer Tool, Distressing Tool, Sponge Daubers

Thanks again for visiting and thank you to those of you who have time to leave a comment- I love reading all all of them- they are such an encouragement to me :-)

Have a great week stamping!

Wish Big! Three Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!
I wanted to create a quick and easy card for the Pals Paper Arts PP40 Sketch Challenge (see www.palspaperarts.com ) and decided to use the colors from this week’s Splitcoast Stampers CC316 Color Challenge.  Since it is a birthday card, it also qualifies for the SUO Challenge #15, Birthday Cards  (see http://suochallenges.com).

To create this card:
Emboss a piece of Certainly Celery using the Big Shot and the Square Lattice EF and re-emboss with the Framed Tulips EF.  Mount onto a piece of Whisper White and again onto Marina Mist.
Punch the edge of Whisper White cardstock with the Eyelet Border Punch and crimp with the Crimper Tool, adhere to the card and add a piece of Baja Breeze DSP.
Punch a circle from Whisper White with the 2 ½” Circle XL Punch.  Create a mask and sponge Baja Breeze and Marina Mist over the top area of the circle.  Sponge the lower area with Certainly Celery and stamp the floral image from Just Believe with Basic Black.  Mount to the card using Dimensionals.

Two Cards for the Same Challenge!

Hi Again Stampers!
I just had to create two cards using the cake inspiration photo from Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge CCMC129 (http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com)- I just love all of the bows and they were calling out to
me:-)   Please see the earlier post for the first card that also uses the sketch challenge from Stamping 411 with the Operators.

To create this card:
Using the Big Shot and the Perfect Dots EF, emboss a piece of Whisper White and spray with Frost White Shimmer Paint.

Tie three bows using 5/8” Marina Mist Satin Ribbon.   Create three floral images using the round stamp from Just Believe with Marina Mist ink, punch out with the 1 3/8” Circle Punch and spray with Frost White Shimmer Paint (hint- I use the heat gun to dry the Frost White Simmer Paint mixture with 70% alcohol quicker).  Add a pearl to the center of each image.

Stamp the sentiment in Marina Mist and adhere to the lower bottom of the card.  Adhere the ribbons and floral images to finish off this quick card.

Stamp Sets:  Just Believe, Heard from the Heart
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Marina Mist
Ink: Marina Mist
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Dots EF, 1 3/8” Circle Punch, 5/8” Marina Mist Satin Ribbon, Pearls, Frost White Shimmer Paint

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you have a joyful Christmas celebrating the birth of Christ!
