SUO111 Merry Christmas- Season of Tags :-)

Hi Stampers!

This card was created for the new SUO111 “Tag, You’re It” Challenge along with the Create with Connie and Mary CCMC331 Sketch Challenge.

Instead of one tag, I decided to create a card with three tags :-)

If you have not done so yet, I hope you will find the time to check the rest of the Design Team projects at SUO-Challenges as well as the wonderful samples at Create with Connie and Mary :-)

To create this card:
Using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, stamp the cardinal image from Beauty of the Season onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the cardinal using Stampin’ Blendabilities™- Light, Medium and Dark Cherry Cobbler for the feathers and berries, Light Smoky Slate for the branches and Light Pumpkin Pie for the cardinal’s beak and legs.

Trim the panel to 4 ½” and cut into three strips 1 ½” wide.  Insert the strips into the Note Punch and punch the end with the angle, flip and re-insert to punch the other end (this gives you a longer tag than the original punch was designed to create).

Punch size regular size tags using the Note Punch from Basic Black cardstock.  Layer two tags behind each of the cardinal tags allowing a bit of the Basic Black to show.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim to approx.  4” x 5 ¼”.

Adhere the left and right tags to the woodgrain panel, add the retired Silver cord to the card front and adhere the center tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Mount the entire panel onto the Basic Black card base.

Create a bow using the Silver Cord and add to the top of the card along with Basic Black button.

Stamp the sentiment from Endless Wishes using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, trim and create the banner points using the Banner Punch, punch two banners from Basic Black cardstock and add to the ends of the sentiment.

Mount the sentiment to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets:  Beauty of the Season, Endless Wishes
Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Stampin’ Blendabilities™- Light, Medium, Dark Cherry Cobbler, Light Smoky Slate, Light Pumpkin Pie; White Gel Pen
Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Black
Accessories:  Big Shot™, Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Note Punch, Hexagon Punch, Neutral Button, retired Silver Cord

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by – I hope that you will join in on in on the fun with your Stampin’ Up! Only creations and create your own “Tag, You’re It!” project!

Sending Love and Sympathy- Two Challenges in One!

Hi Again Stampers!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful Monday!  I was able to spend a few minutes in the craft room and decided to create a card using the Splitcoaststampers CC506 Color Challenge- Rose Red, Mossy Meadow and Basic Black (dessert option- ribbon) along with the PPA229 Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge.

Again, I hope you have the time to stop by both sites to check out the great inspiration from the Design Teams as well as the other entries!

To create this card:

Ink the floral stamp from Choose Happiness using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp repeatedly onto Whisper White cardstock (re-inking for each stamping).

Use the AquaPainter™ with Rose Red Classic Ink, create a color wash and apply to all of the blossoms.  Apply darker ink to create dimension to the petals and carefully cut out each blossom.

Ink the leaf stamp using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp repeatedly onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock for the background panel.

Color the leaves using the Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write marker.

Use the AquaPainter™ with Mossy Meadow Classic Ink, create a color wash and apply over the entire background.   Using Mossy Meadow Classic Ink, stamp the lattice from Summer Silhouettes over the background and add a bit of distressing using the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge.

Sporadically apply Ranger® Tim Holtz® Picket Fence Distress Stain over the entire background.  Mount the panel onto the Basic Black card front.

Adhere the flowers per the sketch and add the large flower in the upper left hand corner using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Stamp the sentiment using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock- create the banner points using the Hexagon Punch. Mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock (creating the points again with the Hexagon Punch).

Mount the sentiment onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®- add a piece of one of the flowers to the edge of the sentiment.

Use a Faber-Castelle White Pitt Pen to add highlights to the flower centers and adhere the larger Pearls to the corners and a few seed Pearls to the flower centers to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Choose Happiness, Love & Sympathy, Summer Silhouettes, Gorgeous Grunge

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Mellow Moss, Rose Red; Stampin’ Write Marker- Mossy Meadow, Faber-Castelle White Pitt Pen, Ranger® Tim Holtz® Picket Fence Distress Stain

Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black

Accessories:  AquaPainter™, Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you have a wonderful evening!

HYCCT1416 What Direction To Take

Hi Again Stampers!!

Here is another card that I created for the annual Hope You Can Cling To Challenge (HYCCT) Card Drive at Splitcoaststampers.

This card was designed for HYCCT1416 mrslaird aks Paula “Stampless” Challenge - (see the gallery here and the details here).  I decided to incorporate a Gelli Arts® Print as my background for this card.

The basic steps to create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ with the Sizzix™ Tim Holtz® Textured Fades™ Compass Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock and set aside (for use in a few minutes).

Apply a few drops of silver acrylic paint onto the Gelli Arts® Gel Printing Plate and use a Brayer to thinly spread the paint but make sure it is thick enough not to dry too quickly.

Lay down a piece of Watercolor Paper over the printing plate (this card was created using a scrap piece of the Watercolor Paper), smooth with the brayer or your hand to cover the paper and carefully peel away from the plate.  Reapply the silver paint and continue with a few more prints.

Apply a few drops of Soft Black, Soft White and Midnight Blue Acrylic Paints and smooth with the brayer to mix the paint.

Lay the embossed piece of Whisper White cardstock over the paint, smooth with your hand or a brayer, lift up and set aside for use again.

Lay the silver side of the Watercolor Paper onto the printing plate, smooth with your hand or brayer and lift up (the raised areas of the embossing piece should show against the silver paint).

Once the initial panels were finished and dry (you can use a Heat Tool to speed up the drying process), re-insert the printed piece back into the same embossing folder that was used as the “stencil” and re-emboss using the Big Shot™.

Apply another thin layer of silver paint onto the printing plate and roll the paint from the Brayer onto the original Whisper White embossed panel (the one that was used as the “stencil” and is now covered with blue/black paint) – this way you can use the original embossing panels as well as the print panels- nothing is wasted!

Using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, stamp the En Francais background stamp to randomly stamp around the background- once dry, gently rub the Silver Encore™ Pigment ink pad across the top of the embossing to give the panel even more of a metallic look.

Trim the panel and adhere to a layer of Whisper White cardstock and again onto the Basic Black card base.

This is a fun technique- love using my Gelli® Arts Plate!

Stamp Sets: En Francais

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Midnight Muse, Encore® Silver, various Acrylic Paints

Paper: Watercolor, Whisper White, Basic Black

Accessories: Gelli® Arts Plate, Big Shot™, non-Su! Embossing Folder (Compass)

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you have a fantastic week!!

HYCCT1414 The Fabric of Friendship

Hi Stampers!

I hope all of you in the U.S. had a great Thanksgiving!!  We are truly blessed :-)

It has been a busy month with my husband’s chemo treatments and doctor appointments along with Thanksgiving, so I apologize for not posting these cards sooner :-)

I hoping to be able to finish posting the remaining cards that I created for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge (HYCCT) Card Drive at Splitcoaststampers over the next few weeks- the goal of the card drive is to provide cards to the patients and their guests to send as encouragement, etc. for their personal use.

With that in mind, I tried to find sentiments that I thought could be used for various occasions and tried to limit the layers so they would not have to include additional postage :-)

This card was created for HYCCT1414 berlycece aka Kim’s “It’s Time to Step” Challenge - (see the gallery here and the details here) along with tutorial for the step card that I used from Splitcoaststampers (here)

To create this card:

After cutting the base for the card from Very Vanilla cardstock, I covered the card with Early Espresso cardstock.

Ink the stamp images from the retired Fabric of Friendship stamp set using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and color using Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils along with the AquaPainter™.

Use the Distressing Tool to distress the edges of the dress from and sewing basket images.

Use the smaller images (button and scissors) with Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink and stamp over the sentiment- punch the sentiment out using the Note Punch.

Clean and re-ink the sentiment using Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink and stamp around the dress form image to fill in the background.   Ink the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink and stamp repeatedly over all of the images.

Use a Sponge Dauber with Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink to distress all of the edges and panels (“antiquing” the paper).

Add the sewing Washi Tape to the side panels and center lower panel as well as the corner of the dress form panel.

Mount the dress form image to the center piece of the step panel and add additional sewing Washi Tape to the corner.

Mount the sewing machine image to piece of Early Espresso cardstock and add to the front of the card.

Mount the punched sentiment image using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.   Add the Venetian Crochet Lace with the Vintage Trinket.   Add the button to the tag and lower left corner of the center panel.

Add the White Tea Lace Paper Doily to the sides of the center panel to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Fabric of Friendship, Gorgeous Grunge

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Baked Brown Sugar, Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils

Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso

Accessories: Distressing Tool, Sponge Daubers, White Tea Lace Paper Doily, Washi Tape (non SU!), Vintage Trinkets, retired Night of Navy and Real Red Button, 3/8” Venetian Crochet Lace Trim

Thanks again for stopping by!  I hope to post a few more cards over the next few days :-)  Have a great week, my friends!

Merry Christmas- Three Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!!

I hope you will have a chance to visit all of the above sites to check out the wonderful Design Team samples as well as their fantastic galleries!

To create this card:

Using the Lost Lagoon and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write markers, scribble some color onto a craft sheet or plastic bag.  Spritz with water and lay a piece of Whisper White into the moistened ink, lift and allow the paper to dry.

Once this layer dried, it appeared as though the Smoky Slate was too watered down so I added Ranger® Tim Holtz® Weathered Wood Distress Stain and spritzed it with water.

Once the panel was dry, stamp the snowflakes from the retired set, Patterned Pines using Smoky Slate and Lost Lagoon Classic Ink.

Add a bit of splattering using the Color Spritzer Tool and the Lost Lagoon and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write markers.

De-static the panel using the Embossing Buddy® and stamp the snowflake image using Versamark™ ink.  Add Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.
Allow the embossing to cool and add Ranger® Tim Holtz® Picket Fence Distress Stain over the snowflakes and blot with a paper towel.   Add a few “snowflakes” using a Faber-Castell White Pitt Pen, trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock.

Add this panel to the Whisper White layer and adhere the 3/8” Lost Lagoon Taffeta Ribbon strip and triple bow.

De-static the lower portion of the card front using the Embossing Buddy® and stamp the sentiment using Versamark™ ink.  Add Silver Stampin’ Emboss® Embossing Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.

Mount the entire panel onto a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Add the 3/8” Lost Lagoon Triple Ribbon Taffeta bow along with the retired Frosted Finishes Embellishment to the center.

Adhere a few Rhinestones to the snowflake centers and around the sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Patterned Pines, Christmas Greetings (both sets retired)

Ink: Versamark™, Lost Lagoon, Smoky Slate Classic Ink; Stampin’ Write Markers- Lost Lagoon, Smoky Slate; Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Stain- Weathered Wood, Picket Fence

Paper: Whisper White, Lost Lagoon, Smoky Slate

Accessories: Embossing Buddy®, Heat Tool, Stampin’ Emboss® Silver Embossing Powder, retired Color Spritzer Tool, Faber-Castell White Pitt Pen, Rhinestones, Frosted Finishes Embellishment (retired), 3/8” Lost Lagoon Taffeta Ribbon

Sensible Woman- Two Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!

I had two additional tags from the homemade “background” panel that I created for the previous post for the PPA227 Color Challenge, so instead of tucking them away for another day,  I decided to create another card :-)

I hope you will find time to visit both challenge sites- inspiration from all!  Here is the link for the Splitcoaststampers Master Sketch Challenge- so many sketches, so little time- lol!

To create this card:

As mentioned in the previous post (here), stamp the various images from the retired Established Elegance set using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and Old Olive Classic Ink (for the scroll) onto Whisper White cardstock, masking a few images and coloring the images using Stampin’ Write markers- Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie.
Add a bit of distressing with the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink.

Use the Note Punch to punch out the images and sponge additional Baked Brown Sugar onto the tags to “antique” the Whisper White cardstock.   Also punch two tags from Old Olive cardstock, cut the tags apart and mount behind the stamped tag images.

Add the Burnt Sienna Organdy Ribbon along the bottom (this ribbon is from my stash and is wired, so I adhered to the tag with Sticky Strip)- also add a piece at the top of the tag and tie with Linen Thread.

Mount a piece of Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper (DSP) to a piece of Old Olive cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock and "antique” the Crushed Curry DSP using a Baked Brown Sugar Sponge Dauber.

Add the two strips of Burnt Sienna Organdy Ribbon to the center, slip the embossed strip of Very Vanilla cardstock (this was in my stash- previously cut and embossed) and add a strip of Old Olive cardstock to hide the seam of the two strips of ribbon.

Mount the entire panel onto the Pumpkin Pie card base.

Using My Digital Studio (MDS), insert the sentiment image onto a blank 8.5 x 11 document, reduce in size and print onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  Trim the image and create the banner points using the Hexagon Punch.

Create the rolled flowers with the 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punch- punch two scallops from Pumpkin Pie cardstock, carefully cut a wavy spiral from the outside edge toward the center, roll up and adhere in the center (I use Hot Glue to adhere).

Using the Bird Builder Punch, punch the leaves out of Old Olive cardstock, adhere the leaves behind the flowers and add a rose to the top of each tag.

Add the tags and the sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.  Add a few Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Established Elegance, French Foliage, Gorgeous Grunge, Favorite Thoughts (MDS version)

Ink:  Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Baked Brown Sugar; Stampin’ Write Markers- Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie; Printer Ink- Black

Paper: Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie; Eastern Elegance DSP (retired)

Accessories: Big Shot™, Adorning Accents Edgelits™ (retired) , Adorning Accents Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (retired) , Punches- Note, Hexagon, 1 ¼” Scallop Circle, Bird Builder; Sponge Dauber, Linen Thread, Pearls, Burnt Sienna Organdy Ribbon (from my stash)

Thanks again for visiting- I hope all of you have a wonderful week!!

Thanks for All that You Do- PPA227 and SUO110!

Hi Again Stampers!

This card was created for The Pals Paper Arts PPA227 Color Challenge as well as another card for the SUO110 SU-Only "Marker Fun" Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the Challenge sites yet, I hope you will find the time to do so- atremendous inspiration from all!!

To create this card:

Stamp the various images from the retired Established Elegance set using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and Old Olive Classic Ink (for the scroll) onto Whisper White cardstock.  Stamp the images of the key and medal onto repositionable note paper or scrap paper and cut around the images to use as a mask.

Mask the key and medal images and stamp the floral image as well as the script image (from French Foliage) using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink.   Color the images using Stampin’ Write markers- Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie.

Using the Note Punch, punch two tags from Old Olive cardstock, cut the tags apart and mount behind the stamped tag images.

Use the retired Slot Punch to punch holes at the top of the tag, insert the Pumpkin Pie Organdy Ribbon and tie with Linen Thread.
Using My Digital Studio (MDS), insert the bodice image onto a blank 8.5 x 11 document, enlarge and print onto Whisper White cardstock.  Carefully cut out the image (“fussy-cut”) and color with the Stampin’ Write Crushed Curry marker.

Create the rolled flowers with the 1 ¼” and ¾” Scallop Circle Punches- punch one of each from Pumpkin Pie cardstock, carefully cut a wavy spiral from the outside edge toward the center, roll up and adhere in the center (I use Hot Glue to adhere).

Using the Bird Builder Punch, punch the leaves from Old Olive cardstock and trim to a smaller size to match the flowers.  Adhere the leaves behind the flowers and add the smallest rose to the center of the bodice.

Use the Big Shot™ with the retired Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (ink the smooth side of the interior of the folder first with Baked Brown Sugar) and emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Trim the embossed panel and mount onto a piece of Old Olive cardstock, trim again and mount onto a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock.

Add the embossed panel to a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount the entire background panel onto a piece of Old Olive cardstock, trim again and mount onto a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock and trim once more and mount to the Pumpkin Pie card base.

Add the tags to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.  Add the sentiment (from the retired set, Absolutely Fabulous and banner points created with the Banner Punch) along with 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Pumpkin Pie rolled flower and Old Olive leaves.

Double the Stampin’ Dimensionals® to create additional height behind the bodice and add to the card front to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Established Elegance, French Foliage, Gorgeous Grunge, Absolutely Fabulous

Ink:  Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Baked Brown Sugar; Stampin’ Write Markers- Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie

Paper: Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie

Accessories: Big Shot™, Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Punches- Note, Banner, Scallop Circle- 1 ¼”, ¾”, retired Slot Punch; Sponge Dauber, Linen Thread, Organdy Ribbon (from my stash)
