SUO191 Thoughts and Prayers

Hi Friends!

It’s time for the #191 Brrr...Baby It’s Cold Outside Challenge at SU-Only Challenges!

The weather here on the East Coast has been extremely cold so I decided to create a card using the Flurry of Wishes stamp set along with a few die cuts and a sentiment from Rose Wonder. We have not had a lot of snow yet, but snowflakes remind me of the cold :-)

I have had the Flurry of Wishes stamp set for over a year and this is the first time I have had a chance to ink it up!  That is one of my goals again for this year- use the stamps that have not seen ink in a while :-)

I am also linking this card to the As You See It #166 “Sparkle”Challenge (it is hard to see the glitter in the background but it is there and the card is very sparkly:-)).

If you have not had a chance to stop by the SU-Only Challenge site to check out the rest of the Design Team’s samples or the other challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). De-static a piece of Whisper White cardstock with an Embossing Buddy®, ink the snowflake images from Flurry of Wishes and stamp onto the panel.  Once the embossing has cooled, tap the Tempting Turquoise Classic Ink Pad onto a silicone craft mat, lightly spritz with water and press the embossed panel into the ink.  Lift up and repeat the process with Dapper Denim and Island Indigo Classic Ink.

2). Allow the panel to dry and use a Sponge Dauber with the same colors of ink in Step #1 to add additional color to the background.  Add a bit of distressing using the splatter stamp from Awesomely Artistic with Island Indigo Classic Ink.Trim the panel and mount onto an Extra Thick Whisper White card base.

3). Die cut several snowflakes from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits™ from Whisper White cardstock.

4). Ink the sentiment from Rose Wonder with Island Indigo Classic Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.  Die cut with the Stitched Shaped Framelits™ , use a sponge dauber to apply a bit of Island Indigo Classic Ink around the edges.  Mount onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

5). Add the die cut snowflakes to the card front along with a few Rhinestones to the centers.

6). Finish off the card using Clear Wink of Stella® over the snowflakes.

Stamp Sets: Flurry of Wishes, Awesomely Artistic, Rose Wonder

Ink/Mediums: Versamark™, Island Indigo, Tempting Turquoise, Dapper Denim; Clear Wink of Stella®

Paper: Whisper White, Extra Thick Whisper White

Accessories/Tools: Big Shot™, Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits™, Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Rhinestones

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by and I hope that you will create your own Stampin’ Up! Only project and join us for our “Brrr...Baby It’s Cold Outside” challenge!

CAS "Smoosh" Card- Fear Not

Hi Friends!!

I had a chance to create another card last night and decided to pull out a few sets that I have not had a chance to ink up in a while- Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Basics, Awesomely Artistic and Rose Wonder (all three sets are over a year old :-)).

If you have not already had a chance to visit the above challenge sites, I hope you will do so- they both have wonderful Design Teams and fabulous challenge entries.

To create this card:

1). Ink the floral image from Butterfly Basics with archival black ink, stamp onto white cardstock, heat set with a heat tool and watercolor using an AquaPainter™ along with ink from the Powder Pink, Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide Classic Ink Pads.  Use the Stampin’ Write Markers to add more color and definition and once the flower has dried, fussy-cut and set aside.

2). On a clear acetate envelope, tap a bit of Powder Pink and Berry Burst Classic Ink, spritz lightly with water, smoosh the ink around and lay a piece of white cardstock into the ink.  Dry with the Heat Tool, add a bit of splatter with the splatter image from Awesomely Artistic stamp set with Berry Burst Classic Ink.  Apply Picket Fence Distress Stain over some of the “smooshed” areas to tone down the ink, dry again before trimming.

3). Ink the verse sentiment from Rose Wonder with Fresh Fig Classic Ink, stamp onto the panel and mount onto a piece of Berry Burst cardstock.

4). Mount the flower using dimensional foam, use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the petals and an extra fine white paint pen for highlights in the center of the flower.

5). Add the droplets using Rosewater Nuvo Crystal Jewel Drops to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Butterfly Basics, Awesomely Artistic, Rose Wonder

Ink/Mediums: Stampin’ Archival™ – Basic Black, Classic Ink- Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink, Tranquil Tide; Tim Holtz™ Picket Fence Distress Stain, Wink of Stella™ Clear Glitter Pen, Sharpie® Extra Fine White Paint Pen, Nuvo™ Rosewater Crystal Jewel Drops

SUO176 Floral Birthday

Hi Friends!

It’s time for the #176 “Out in the Garden” Challenge at SU! Only Challenges! I used to dream of having beautiful floral gardens but as time progressed and my work hours averaged 60+ a week, those dreams never became a reality-lol!

So when Robin suggested the theme “Out in the Garden” floral images came immediately to my mind, although it could be anything in the garden- bees, butteflies, flowers, garden benches, etc. as long as you only use only Stampin’ Up! products.

I decided to incorporate the CAS(E) This Sketch #224 Challenge (I completely flipped the sketch) along with the TGIF Challenges! #114 Color Challenge and the Paper Players PP347 "Birthday" Challenge into the design.

If you have not had a chance to stop by the SU-Only Challenge site to check out the rest of the Design Team projects or the other challenge galleries yet,  I encourage you to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Ink the floral image from You’ve Got This with Stampin’ Archival™ Basic Black Ink and stamped onto Whisper White cardstock.  Heat set with the Heat Tool and use the AquaPainter™ to watercolor the image using Peekaboo Peach and Bermuda Bay Classic Ink.  Add additional color with the Stampin’ Write Peekaboo Peach and Bermuda Nay Markers, blending the color as needed.  Use the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to color the center of the flower, fussy-cut the image and use the White Gel Pen to add highlights to the center.

2). Ink the grid stamp from You’ve Got This using Bermuda Bay Classic Ink, apply a sticky note to “mask” off part of the image and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Stamp the splatter image from Awesomely Artistic using Stampin’ Archival™ Basic Black Ink and use the AquaPainter™ with diluted Stampin’ Archival™ Basic Black Ink.

3). Ink the sentiment from Rose Wonder with Stampin’ Archival™ Basic Black Ink and stamp onto the background panel.

4). Trim the panel, mount onto Basic Black cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Bermuda Bay card front.

5). Trim the stem and leaves from the floral image, add the leaves behind the flower and mount onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

6). Use the Clear Wink of Stella® Glitter Pen to add shimmer to the petals and add a few Rhinestones to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets: You’ve Got This, Awesomely Artistic. Rose Wonder
Ink/Mediums: Classic Ink- Bermuda Bay, Peekaboo Peach, Stampin’ Archival™ Basic Black; Versamark™; Stampin’ Up! Markers- Bermuda Bay, Peekaboo Peach; Clear Wink of Stella® Glitter Pen, White Gel Pen

SUO129 Awesomely Artistic Dragonfly Summer

Hi Stampers!

It’s time for the new SUO129 “Cards without Words” Challenge-create a card without a sentiment on the front that could be used for a note...

I decided to pull out two of my favorite new sets, Awesomely Artistic and Butterfly Basics along with the CCMC368 Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge.

I hope you will have a chance to check out my sister Design Team member samples- we are welcoming Cindee Wilkinson to the SUO Challenges team this week- woohoo!!

Also, I hope you will find time to visit the Create with Connie and Mary site- they always have fabulous inspiration as well!

This card was fairly simple to create:

Ink the fern image from Butterfly Basics using Cucumber Crush Classic Ink and stamp repeatedly onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Ink the splatter image from Awesomely Artistic using Tangerine Tango Classic Ink and add a bit of splatter around the panel.

Ink the dragonfly image using Pacific Point Classic Ink and stamp one image onto the main panel and three images onto another piece of Whisper White cardstock.

“Fussy-cut” two of the dragonflies completely and add to the card panel.

“Fussy-cut” just the wings of the third dragonfly and add to the stamped dragonfly on the panel, apply Two-Way Glue to the wings of all three dragonflies and Dazzling  Diamond glitter.

Stamp the border image from Awesomely Artistic using Pacific Point  Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto Pacific Point cardstock and add a scrap strip of Tangerine Tango cardstock to the center.

Trim the entire  panel and mount onto Pacific Point cardstock, trim and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Use a Sponge Dauber to apply a bit of Cucumber Crush Classic Ink around the ferns.

Create a bow using the Bow Builder Punch from Tangerine Tango cardstock, adhere to the card front and add the Antique Brad to the center to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets:  Awesomely Artistic, Butterfly Basics
Ink: Cucumber Crush, Tangerine Tango
Paper/Cardstock: Whisper White, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango
Accessories: Sponge Dauber, Bow Builder Punch, Antique Brad, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

Summer Fun with A Color, Sketch and Theme Challenge :-)

Hi Again Stampers!

I hope all of you are enjoying your weekend!  My hubby had to work the whole weekend, so I decided to spend some time designing cards :-)  Any excuse to spend time crafting, right??

I just love the fresh color combination in this week’s Pals Paper Arts PPA258 Color Challenge, so I pulled out my new stamp set, Awesomely Artistic and combined it with the Freshly Made Sketches FM193 Sketch Challenge and the Simon Monday “Summer”Challenge. .

Flowers and dragonflies definitely remind me of the summer vacations that we would take to rural New Yorl- my grandparents had a cabin on a river and the dragonflies would be flitting around as well as the blossoming summer flowers...I remember as a young child chasing the rabbits and trying to catch one :-)  Oh, to be a kid again- lol!!

If you have not had a chance to do so, I hope you will find the time to visit the above challenge sites to check out the Design Team samples as well as their galleries-wonderful inspiration from all!

This was a quick, easy card to create- stamp the images using Stāz-On® Midnight Blue ink onto Whisper White cardstock, color with Stampin’ Write markers, trim and mount onto Night of Navy and Cucumber Crush cardstock.

Add a few Rhinestones and you are finished!

Easy, peasy as one of my fellow demonstrators loves to say :-)

Stamp Sets: Awesomely Artistic

Ink: Cucumber Crush, Stāz-On® Midnight Blue; Stampin’ Write Markers- Cucumber Crush, Night of Navy, Watermelon Wonder, White Gel Pen

Paper: Whisper White, Cucumber Crush, Night of Navy

Accessories: Big Shot™, retired Starburst Collection Framelits™, Rhinestones

Thanks again for visiting- if you have any questions, please let me know in the comments.   Hugs and have a wonderful week, my friends!
