SUO180 Celebrate- Another Watercolor Tissue Paper Experiment

Hi Friends!

I have a few birthdays to celebrate in the fall and I decided to play around with the watercolor tissue technique again this time using fall colors (see this post for more details on the technique).

I also will be linking this card to The Paper Players #355Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge (Die-Cut, Banner, Birthday) and the Word Art Wednesday#292-#293 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to stop by the SU-Only Challengesite to check out the rest of the Design Team projects or the other challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Using a silicone craft mat, tap the So Saffron, Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink pads, lightly spritz with water, use a plastic spoon or palette knife to stir the ink a bit and lay a piece of tissue paper into the ink.  Gently lift up the paper and use the Heat Tool to dry the sheet.  Apply additional ink as needed and once you are satisfied with the results and the panel is thoroughly dried, adhere to a piece of Whisper White cardstock, “scrunching” up the tissue as you adhere it to the Whisper White panel.

2). Once the glue has dried, rub a Versamark™ ink pad over the ridges, apply Gold Stampin’ Emboss® Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

3). Use the Big Shot™ with the Leaflets Framelits™ to cut out the leaf.  Ink the corresponding stamp from Vintage Leaves with Cajun Craze Classic Ink, stamp over the entire leaf (difficult to see in the photo), gently wipe off the ink with a dry paper towel from the embossing and set aside.

4). Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodland Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, trim the panel, mount onto a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock and adhere to the Extra Thick Whisper White card base.

5). Loop a bit of Gold Metallic Thread onto the card front and add the die cut leaf with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

6). Heat emboss the sentiment from Beautiful You with Gold Embossing Powder, hand cut the banner points and mount onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

7). Use Clear Wink of Stella® to add shimmer to the birch trees in the background to finish off the card.

Hi Friends!

We are encouraging you to pull out your Stampin' Up! supplies and stamps to create a Thanksgiving card, project or a general "Thank You" card/project and link your artwork in the SUO158 Gallery!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays and I always need to have “Thank You” cards on hand so this challenge is perfect to create something to show your appreciation for that someone special or a card/project for your Thanksgiving event :-)

To create this card:

Using Stampin’ Write Markers- Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Garden Green and Chocolate Chip, color the maple leaf and use an AquaPainter™ to blend the ink.

Continue to build up the color until you are satisfied with the result, fussy-cut the leaf and crunch a bit by hand to mimic a real leaf.

Ink the interior of the Woodland Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder with Sahara Sand Classic Ink and emboss a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.

Trim the embossed panel and mount onto a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock.

Emboss a piece of Garden Green cardstock along with a panel of Very Vanilla cardstock with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, trim the Garden Green piece and mount onto a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock.

Trim the embossed Very Vanilla panel and mount onto a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Garden Green card base.

Ink the sentiment from SU! Acorny Thanks with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the retired Bitty Banner Framelits™ to die cut the sentiment.
Add the Garden Green embossed panel to the card front directly and mount the Woodland embossed panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Adhere the Burlap Ribbon Threads along with Gold Metallic Thread loops, cover with the leaf image and mount the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add a few Pearls along with Clear Wink of Stella® to the leaf to finish off the card.

SUO152 The Wilderness Awaits

Hi Friends!

I love all types of nature and always seem to have a need for masculine cards, so I decided to use The Wilderness Awaits for this quick and easy nature card.

I also incorporated the Splitcoaststampers SC598 Sketch Challenge along with Alphabet Week 20 “T” Challenge (T=Trees, Twine, Texture, Thinking of You).

In addition to visiting the above Splitcoaststampers challenge galleries, I hope you will stop by the SU-Only Challenge site to check out my sister Design Team projects as well as pull out your Stampin’ Up! supplies and join in on the fun!

This card is fairly easy to create (coloring the image was the most time-consuming step):

Ink the mallard image from The Wilderness Awaits with Basic Black Stampin’ Archival Pad™, stamp onto Whisper White cardstock and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Color the image with Stampin’ Write markers and an AquaPainter™ (I used a photo for color reference), heat with the Heat Tool to dry and use the Big Shot™ with the Oval Framelits™ to cut out the image (also cutting two ovals the same size from Early Espresso cardstock).

Layer the two Early Espresso cardstock ovals behind the focal image panel and set aside.

Ink the interior of the Woodland Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder with Smoky Slate Classic Ink and emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim the panel and mount onto Dapper Denim cardstock, trim and mount onto Early Espresso cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Garden Green cardstock as well as a piece of Dapper Denim cardstock.

Die cut the Dapper Denim cardstock with the Circle Framelits™, cutting a circle the same size from Early Espresso cardstock as well (layer the Early Espresso circle behind the embossed Dapper Denim circle).

Trim the embossed Garden Green layer and mount onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock.

Adhere the Garden Green layer onto the card front, add the Dapper Denim embossed circle and mount the focal image oval with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Heat emboss the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes with Stampin’ Emboss® White Embossing Powder onto Early Espresso cardstock, hand trim and mount onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

I hope you will have a chance to check out my sister DesignTeam member samples and create your own Stampin’ Up! Only project for our gallery.

Ink the wren image from An Open Heart using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and color using Stampin’ Write Markers- Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and Tip Top Taupe and use the AquaPainter™ to blend the color.

Carefully fussy-cut the image leaving an area for the “ground” – color the “ground” using a Sponge Dauber with Mossy Meadow Classic Ink using the AquaPainter™ to blend the color, add the splatter from Gorgeous Grunge with Tip Top Taupe Classic Ink and use a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to color the edge of the cut paper.

Mount the bird image to the lower portion of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add a strip of Basic Black cardstock using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes (punched with the Word Window Punch).

Stamp the leaves from Vintage Leaves with Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock, color with Sponge Daubers using Delightful Dijon, Old Olive and Cajun Craze Classic Ink.
