SUO131 Get Well Wishes- Woodland Background with An Open Heart

Hello Friends!

It’s time for the new SUO131 “Get Well Soon” Challenge and I decided to create a quick, fun background with the new Woodland Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

I also incorporated the Addicted to Stamps and More #161 "Anything Goes" Challenge as well as the Splitcoaststampers’ WT547 “Seasons”Challenge- I love the crisp air and gorgeous colors that are here on the East Coast during the autumn!!

I hope you will have a chance to check out my sister DesignTeam member samples and create your own Stampin’ Up! Only project for our gallery.

To create this card:

Using a Sponge Dauber, apply Tip Top Taupe to the interior of the Woodland Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, insert a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and emboss with the Big Shot™.

Trim the embossed image and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Very Vanilla card base.

Ink the wren image from An Open Heart using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and color using Stampin’ Write Markers- Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and Tip Top Taupe and use the AquaPainter™ to blend the color.

Carefully fussy-cut the image leaving an area for the “ground” – color the “ground” using a Sponge Dauber with Mossy Meadow Classic Ink using the AquaPainter™ to blend the color, add the splatter from Gorgeous Grunge with Tip Top Taupe Classic Ink and use a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to color the edge of the cut paper.

Mount the bird image to the lower portion of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add a strip of Basic Black cardstock using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes (punched with the Word Window Punch).

Stamp the leaves from Vintage Leaves with Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock, color with Sponge Daubers using Delightful Dijon, Old Olive and Cajun Craze Classic Ink.

Fussy-cut the leaves and adhere along the sentiment layer to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  An Open Heart, Vintage Leaves, Gorgeous Grunge, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black , Memento™ Tuxedo Black, Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon, Mossy Meadow, Tip Top Taupe; Stampin’ Write Markers- Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, Tip Top Taupe
Paper/Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Basic Black
Accessories: Big Shot™, Woodland Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Sponge Daubers, Word Window Punch

Thanks again for visiting – we hope to see your Stampin’ Up! Only project in our “Get Well Soon” Challenge gallery!

Choose Happiness - Feel Better Soon :-)

Hi Stampers!

This weekend I had a chance to play around in my craft room and created a fun Mixed Media card for the As You See It #97 Sketch Challenge using the Colour Me...!#81 "Colour Me Playful" Challenge along with the Friday Mash Up! FM218 "Let's Eat" Challenge (food and/or drink or use markers to color or both- I chose markers to color only :-)).

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites yet, again, I would encourage you to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this Mixed Media card:

Use the Big Shot™ with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Calypso Coral, trim again and mount onto a piece of Blackberry Bliss, trim once more and mount onto the Pink Pirouette card base.

De-static a piece of Vellum and stamp the woodgrain banner image from Choose Happiness several times using Versamark™ ink.  Apply Stampin’ Emboss® White Embossing Powder and use the Heat Tool to heat set.   Once the powder has cooled carefully cut out the banners.

Mount the banners at varying lengths to the upper right hand portion of the card front.

Ink the flower and stem images from Choose Happiness with Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp two of the flower images as well as three of the stems onto Whisper White cardstock.

Use Stampin’ Write Markers to color the images- Pink Pirouette and Calypso Coral for the flowers and Garden Green for the stems (scribbling the Garden Green onto a craft mat and using the AquaPainter™ for the first layer of color, then coloring direct with the marker).

Spritz the colored images with water to help soften the edges of the marker and “fussy-cut” out the images.

Use the AquaPainter™ to apply Frost White Shimmer Paint to the petals, and, if needed, the White Gel Pen to highlight the center.

Stamp the bird, sentiment and border using Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  Fussy cut out the bird image and set aside.

Trim the border image and sentiment into strips and create the banner point using the Hexagon Punch.  Layer onto Blackberry Bliss cardstock, create the banner points using the Hexagon Punch, layer onto Calypso Coral cardstock and create the banner points once more with the Hexagon Punch.

Mount the banners to the card front per the sketch and add the stems.
Mount the flowers to the corner (using Stampin’ Dimensionals® for the second flower) and add the bird image with Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Choose Happiness, Express Yourself (retired Hostess set)

Ink: Versamark™, Stāz-On® Jet Black, Blackberry Bliss; Stampin’ Write Markers- Calypso Coral, Garden Green, Pink Pirouette, White Gel Pen

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Pink Pirouette

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Honeycomb Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Hexagon Punch, Frost White Shimmer Paint

Take Me Out to the Ballgame- A Get Well Prayer :-)

Hi Stampers!

I had a chance to spend some time stamping yesterday creating a card using the ColourQ CQC287 Color Challenge along with the Splitcoaststampers' WT513 "Getting Better" Challenge (see details here and gallery here).

This card was created for a gentleman that serves with us in our Awana club that has developed shingles (the colors feature his favorite baseball team- the Cincinnati Reds :-)).  His wife just had their third child and despite the pain of having shingles and lack of sleep that a newborn can create :-) , he is still traveling a few hours each day commuting to work!  We are praying for a very quick and full recovery for this dedicated, hard-working father!!

I hope you will have the time to check out all of the linked sites- gorgeous creations and inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Using Stāz-On© Jet Black Ink stamp the baseball image from the retired set, Take Me Out to the Ballgame onto Whisper White cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the My Favorite Things (MFT) Stitched Rectangular Die to cut out the image and color using Stampin’ Write Markers- Real Red, Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate along with Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils (I did not dilute the watercolor pencils).

Using Sponge Applicators, apply Ranger® Tim Holtz® Old Paper, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Ink to “antique” the paper.  Ink the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using the Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tea Dye Distress Ink and add additional distressing to the image.

Use the Big Shot™ to cut another rectangle from Real Red cardstock and emboss it with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Adhere the Real Red panel onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, “antique” the edges with the Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Ink and mount the stamped image onto the panel.

Use the Distressing Tool to distress the edges of the Graphic45 Good Ol’ Sport Game Day Collection paper, “antique” the edges and interior using Ranger® Tim Holtz® Old Paper, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Ink and mount onto a piece of Real Red cardstock.

Distress the edges of the Real Red cardstock layer using the Distressing Tool, “antique” with the same Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Inks as above and mount onto the Basic Black cardstock base.

Use the Big Shot™ with the MFT Horizontal Stitched Strip dies to cut a stitched strip from the Graphic45  Good  Ol’ Sport 6x6 Pattern Paper and a larger stitched strip from Basic Black cardstock.

Layer the two strips together and mount across the card front.

Use the Banner Punch to punch banners from Real Red, Basic Black and the Graphic45 Good Ol’ Sport 6x6 Paper and adhere behind the focal image panel.

Add the retired Aged Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware clip to the upper left hand corner and mount the focal image to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Use the Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker to partially ink the sentiment from Doily Blessings (Our Daily Bread Designs) and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

Punch the sentiment out with the Word Window Punch and create the banner using the Banner Punch. Repeat the same steps with a piece of Basic Black cardstock to create the banner behind the sentiment.

Use the Ranger® Tim Holtz® Old Paper, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Ink to “antique” the sentiment and stamp the large splatter stamp with Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tea  Dye Distress Ink to finish off the distressing for the sentiment.

Adhere to the focal image panel and add the Basic Black button (with Real Red cardstock “laced” through the holes) to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Take Me Out to the Ballgame, Gorgeous Grunge, Doily Blessings (ODBD)

Ink: Stāz-On© Jet Black, Ranger® Tim Holtz® Old Paper, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo Distress Ink; Stampin’ Write Markers- Real Red, Crumb Cake, Basic Black; Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils- Gray, White

Vintage Mixed Media Get Well Card- A Color, Sketch and Theme Challenge :-)

Hi Stampers!!

I decided to spend some time in my craft room this past evening and create a Mixed Media card using the PPA239Color Challenge along with the Mojo Monday #384 Sketch and FM197 "We're Heading to the Farm" Theme

Again, I hope you will take the time to visit the above sites- gorgeous Design Team creations as well as wonderful galleries and inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Cut the rooster image from the retired Beau Château Designer Series Paper and use Stampin’ Write markers to add additional color- Real Red, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede.

Use Soft Suede Classic Ink with the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge to add additional distressing and sponge Crumb Cake along with Soft Suede Classic Ink around the edges with a Sponge Dauber.

Use a Faber-Castell White Pitt Pen marker to add the white highlights and apply Plaid® Gloss Mod Podge®,  over the entire image (be careful around the colored areas since the Mod Podge® is also water based).

Mount the rooster image onto Real Red cardstock and carefully cut around the edge, sponge with Soft Suede Classic Ink and distress with your fingernail.

Ink the retired background stamp, French Script with Soft Suede Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.

Distress the edges with the Distressing Tool and add additional Soft Suede Classic Ink using a Sponge Dauber.

Mount the distressed Crumb Cake background onto a piece of Real Red cardstock.  Use a Sponge Dauber with Soft Suede Classic Ink and a honeycomb stencil to add additional detail to the background.

Adhere the 7/8” Sahara Sand Lace Trim to the sides and add the previously embossed Real Red strips (embossed with the retired Finial Press Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and Soft Suede Classic Ink sponged over the embossing and the edges were distressed as well).

Cut a panel from Soft Suede cardstock and emboss using the Big Shot™ and the Honeycomb Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.  Use your finger to apply Gesso® to the honeycomb background and when dried, “huff” onto the French Script background stamp to re-moisten the Soft Suede ink and stamp over the embossed panel.

Add a layer of Plaid® Gloss Mod Podge®, to the honeycomb panel and mount onto the background panel.

Add the knotted Hemp Twine and adhere the entire panel onto the Crumb Cake card base.

Create the rolled roses from Real Red cardstock using the 1 ¼” and 1 ¾” Scallop Circle Punches (punch two from the 1 ¾” Punch and one from the 1 ¼” Punch, hand cut a wavy spiral toward the center on each one, run each through the retired Crimping Tool, roll up and adhere the center using a Hot Glue Gun).

Add the Soft Suede cardstock leaves and roses to the panel and use your finger to apply Gesso® to both the petals and leaves.   Once the Gesso® has dried, add Plaid® Gloss Mod Podge® over the roses and leaves.

Stamp the sentiment using Soft Suede Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, trim and create the banner ends using the Hexagon Punch.  Use a Sponge Dauber with Crumb Cake and Soft Suede Classic Ink to add distressing and stamp with the large splatter image and Soft Suede Classic Ink.

Mount the sentiment onto Real Red cardstock, add the banners with the Hexagon Punch, apply Plaid® Gloss Mod Podge® and adhere to the card front along with the rooster image using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add Pearls to the corners of the card and sentiment.  Use a Sponge Dauber to apply Soft Suede Classic Ink along all of the edges of the Crumb Cake card base to finish off the card.

CAS Floral Get Well- Two Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to create a card for the Ann’s Clean and Simple (CAS) PP196 Floral Theme Challenge at The Paper Players along with the Friday Mashup! FM160 Get Well Challenge (use the sketch or create a Get Well project or Mash It Up and create a Get Well project with the sketch :-))

I know that this card may have more layers than the normal CAS card but it is CAS to me :-)

Both sites have wonderful Design Teams and inspiration from all of their entries- hope you have a chance to check them out!

To create this card:

Use Tuxedo Memento™ Black ink to stamp the floral image from Simply Sketched onto Whisper White cardstock.  Color using the new Stampin’ Blendabilities- Coastal Cabana Collection for the petals and the Old Olive Collection for the stems.

Create the shadows using the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker and add a few white highlights using the Chalk Marker.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Chalk Talk Framelits™ to cut out the floral shape and also cut the same size shape from Old Olive and Basic Black cardstock.  Cut the Old Olive and Basic Black frames in half and adhere behind the focal image.

Use the Big Shot™ to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and layer onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Stamp the sentiment from Express Yourself using Tuxedo Memento™ Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using the 1” Circle Punch.  Layer onto a 1” Circle of Old Olive and Basic Black cardstock and adhere to the side of the floral panel.

Add a strip of 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon and the double ribbon bow to the bottom of the image.

Mount the horizontal strip of Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper (DSP) onto Basic Black cardstock and mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Use the Big Shot™ with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss the panel and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Add the focal image panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Sunflower Fun- Two More Cards with the New Blendabilities

Hi Stampers!

Here are the last two cards that I created last night using the PP195 Paper Players Color Challenge (I only submitted this card to the challenge but since I had the colors out and find it difficult to combine green with any orange tone colors, decided to keep creating and working on this color combination).

Again, for the six cards (see the other four in the last four posts), I used My Digital Studio and had printed the images out onto Whisper White cardstock, colored them all at one time and then created the cards.

I decided to use the new Stampin’ Blendabilities™ for the coloring along with traditional card making techniques for the rest of the cards…

To create these cards:

Open a blank document in My Digital Studio (MDS), position the Sunflower background image (reduced a bit) along with the sentiment from Thanks for Caring (for the next card),  print onto an 8 ½ x 11” piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Color the flower using the Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities™ Collection markers and use the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker for the center.

Carefully “fussy-cut” out the Sunflower image and cut the image in half.

For the first card, use the Big Shot to emboss a piece of So Saffron cardstock using the Pretty Prints Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and mount onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock.  Add the Sunflower and leave the edges of a few of the flower petals free from adhesive and curl with your fingers a bit.

Use the Big Shot™ to emboss a piece of Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper (DSP) using the retired Finial Press Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and lightly sand with the Sanding Block.  Add the panel to a layer of Early Espresso cardstock and mount onto the Pear Pizzazz card base.  Add the Pear Pizzazz DSP horizontal panel (also mounted onto Early Espresso cardstock).

Adhere the Sunflower panel to the card front and add the sentiment (stamped from the retiring Hostess set, Express Yourself using Early Espresso Classic Ink).

Add the Pearls to the card front to finish off the card.

For the second card:

Add the Sunflower image to a piece of Old Olive DSP and mount onto Early Espresso cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the retired Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of So Saffron DSP (the DSP I used was from a previous Hostess set years ago) …add to the Early Espresso card base and adhere the Calypso Coral piece from Epic Day This and That DSP at the bottom.

Add the Sunflower panel and adhere a piece of 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon to cover the seam.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Chalk Talk Framelits™ to cut out the sentiment and adhere onto another piece cut from Early Espresso cardstock (from the same framelit™, cut in half).  Using the Background Builders, stamp So Saffron Classic Ink over the sentiment using the script border stamp.  Add the Antique Brads and mount onto the card front.

Add the Pearls to corners and sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Sunflower, Thanks for Caring (both MDS versions), Express Yourself (2013-2014 Hostess set), Background Builders

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Stampin’ Blendabilities™ - Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Collections; Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker

Paper: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz, Designer Series Paper- Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz, Epic Day This and That, retired Hostess Level I Pack (So Saffron)

Accessories: Big Shot™,  Pretty Print, retired Vintage Wallpaper and retired Finial Press Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders, Sanding Block, Chalk Talk Framelits™, Hexagon Punch, Antique Brads, Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by- now off to do some housework (lol)!  I hope all of you have a wonderful and fun weekend- God Bless!!
