Sneak Peek- Embellished Ornaments with an Inlaid Die Cut Technique

Hi Friends!

I decided to create a quick and easy Christmas card using the new stamp set, Embellished Ornaments along with the coordinatings dies for the SU-per 101 Color Challenge as well as the CAS(E) This Sketch CTS138 Sketch (center "stretched" out a bit) and the Stampin' Royalty SR292 Inspiration Photo Challenge.

Again, if you have not already done so, I hope you will find the time to visit the above links to check out their wonderful Design Team entries as well as their galleries!

This card was extremely easy to create:

Use the Big Shot™ to cut out the ornaments from  the Delicate Ornaments Thinlits from Pool Party cardstock as well as Lost Lagoon cardstock,.

Emboss the Pool Party cardstock layer with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, trim and mount onto a piece of Tangerine Tango cardstock.

Insert the Lost Lagoon ornament die cuts into the openings on the embossed  Pool Party layer, add the die cut ornament toppers (cut from Silver Foil) along with the Silver Cord.

Mount the entire panel onto the Lost Lagoon card base, add the Rhinestones to the centers of the ornaments.

Stamp the sentiment from Embellished Ornaments using Lost Lagoon Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, trim and layer onto Tangerine Tango cardstock  (creating the banner with the Hexagon  Punch).

Add the sentiment to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals to finish off the card.

Quick and easy- great for creating multiples for Christmas!

Stamp Sets: Embellished Ornaments

Ink: Lost Lagoon

Paper: Whisper White, Lost Lagoon, Pool Party, Tangerine Tango, Silver Foil

Accessories: Big Shot™, Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Delicate Ornaments Thinlits™ Die, Hexagon Punch, Rhinestones, Silver Cord

CAS Cute Critter Christmas

Hi Again Stampers!!

Having fun with designing and this card was created using the Splitcoaststampers’CC538 Color Challenge (even included the "dessert" element  of  Stripes :-))  along with the CAS338 “Cute Critters” Challenge and since it is a Christmas card, one of my August designs for the CCC15 Christmas Card Challenge.

I am so excited!!   I was able to find this House Mouse Designs® by Stampendous®! stamp at a recent clearance sale and have a few friends that just love "cutsey"images :-)  I think you could use this image for encouragement, winter birthday as well as Christmas...what do you think?

Again, if you have not already done so, I hope you will find the time to visit the above links to check out their fantastic galleries!

To create this card:

Ink the House Mouse Ski Run image using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the image using an AquaPainter™ with Melon Mambo Classic Ink for the scarf, Island Indigo Classic Ink for the snow and a Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker for the mouse as well as the shadows.

Stamp the sentiment from Wondrous Wreath using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, add a few shadows to the letters with the Sahara Sand marker and add a bit of splatter with the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Island Indigo Classic Ink (stamping off before stamping onto the panel).

Cut the image out with the Big Shot™ and the smallest Envelope Liner Framelit™  (also cutting the liner from Melon Mambo cardstock as well- splitting this piece in half).

Mount the focal image onto the split Melon Mambo die cut piece to create a tag, mount the “tag” using Stampin’ Dimensionals® onto the embossed Island  Indigo cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Melon  Mambo cardstock, trim once more and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Create a Melon Mambo cardstock bow using the Bow Builder Punch and add the Designer Silver Button with Island Indigo Baker’s Twine to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Wondrous Wreath, Gorgeous  Grunge, Ski Run (House Mouse Designs® by Stampendous®!)

Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, Island Indigo, Melon Mambo; Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker

Paper: Whisper White, Island Indigo, Melon Mambo

Accessories: Big Shot™, Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Envelope Liner Framelits™, Bow Builder Punch, retired Designer Silver Button, retired Island Indigo Baker’s Twine

Two Horses for Two Special Young Ladies :-)

Hi Stampers!

It has been a busy weekend for me as I was having fun designing and creating cards for several people on our prayer list along with our Awana ministry.

I created two cards using the same stamp set for the horse image for two special 6th grade Awana girls.  They both completed their Timothy Awards and have been so sweet to have in our club for the last two years :-)  They will be "moving up" but I should still be able to see them occasionally on club night- I will miss spending time with them each week for sure!

I incorporated the Splitcoaststampers’ CC532 "Coastal Old Vanilla" Color Challenge with "dessert" :-) (see details here and gallery here) for both cards  and the first card uses the SC530 Sketch Challenge (see details here and gallery here) and the SC538 Sketch Challenge (see details here and gallery here) was used for the second card (modified both sketches a bit :-).

If you have not had a chance to do so, I hope you will find the time to visit the Splitcoaststampers’ galleries to check out all of the inspiration from the color and sketch challenges!

Shared steps to create both cards:

Ink the Inkadinkado® horse image from the Horses stamp set using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto two pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock.

Color the horse image with Faber-Castell® Polychromos Black colored pencil, the grass with the Stampin’ Write Old Olive marker and use the Big Shot™ with the My Favorite Things® (MFT) Stitched Rectangle Die to cut out each horse image.

Mount the images onto Basic Black cardstock and trim to create the frame.

To finish Card #1:

Emboss a piece of retired Jr. Varsity Designer Series Paper (DSP) with the Big Shot™ and retired Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Lightly sand the embossed DSP with the Sanding Block to bring out the white core.

Stamp the sentiment from the retired Blessings from Heaven stamp set using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, insert the sentiment panel into the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (keeping the sentiment portion outside of the folder) and emboss with the Big Shot™.

Add the Coastal Cabana Thick Baker’s Twine over the panel at the edge of the embossing, mount onto a piece of Old Olive cardstock, trim the edges, add the retired Antique Pewter brads and mount onto the Basic Black card base.

Create the banner from retired Afternoon Tea DSP using the Hexagon Punch, mount onto Basic Black cardstock and create the banner points with the Hexagon Punch.

Add the Coastal Cabana Thick Baker’s Twine with the retired Antique Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware clip and mount the banner onto the embossed Olive Green DSP panel.

Mount the embossed Old Olive DSP panel to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® (I angled it a bit from the initial sketch :-)).

Add the horse image to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamps: Blessings from God, Horses (Inkadinkado®)

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Stampin’ Write Old Olive Marker; Faber-Castell® Polychromos Black Pencil

Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Old Olive; retired Jr. Varsity and Afternoon Tea DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™, MFT Rectangle Stitched Dies, Stylish Stripes and retired Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders, Sanding Block, Coastal Cabana Thick Baker’s Twine, retired Antique Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware

To finish the second card:

Lightly sponge Ranger® Tim Holtz® Antique Linen Distress Ink onto the horse image.

Using My Digital Studio (MDS), insert the Word Art Wednesday Proverbs 17:17 verse and print out onto Whisper White cardstock.  Use Ranger® Tim Holtz® Antique Linen Distress Ink to “antique” the paper and match the Very Vanilla cardstock.

Emboss a piece of retired Jr. Varsity DSP with the Big Shot™ and the Modern  Mosaic Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, lightly sand with the Sanding Block, trim and mount onto the Basic Black card base.

Adhere the Coastal Cabana pieces of Afternoon Tea DSP to Basic Black cardstock, trim and create the vertical and horizontal panels on the card front.

Add the portion of the White Tea Lace Doily (this was an afterthought since I originally had a bit of Hot Glue on my card front and when it was removed, the DSP tore so the Doily is covering up the mistake- lol!).

Mount the verse onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and adhere to the horizontal panel.

Add the horse image using Stampin’ Dimensionals® , Pearls to the verse and the retired Antique Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware clip to finish off the card.

Stamps: Horses (Inkadinkado®), Digital Verse from Word Art Wednesday

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Faber-Castell® Polychromos Black Pencil, Stampin’ Write Old Olive Marker; Ranger® Tim Holtz® Antique Linen Distress Ink

Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Old Olive; retired Jr. Varsity and Afternoon Tea DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™, MFT Rectangle Stitched Dies, Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder,Sanding Block, White Tea Lace Doily, Pearls, Sponge Dauber, retired Antique Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware

Take Me Out to the Ballgame- A Get Well Prayer :-)

Hi Stampers!

I had a chance to spend some time stamping yesterday creating a card using the ColourQ CQC287 Color Challenge along with the Splitcoaststampers' WT513 "Getting Better" Challenge (see details here and gallery here).

This card was created for a gentleman that serves with us in our Awana club that has developed shingles (the colors feature his favorite baseball team- the Cincinnati Reds :-)).  His wife just had their third child and despite the pain of having shingles and lack of sleep that a newborn can create :-) , he is still traveling a few hours each day commuting to work!  We are praying for a very quick and full recovery for this dedicated, hard-working father!!

I hope you will have the time to check out all of the linked sites- gorgeous creations and inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Using Stāz-On© Jet Black Ink stamp the baseball image from the retired set, Take Me Out to the Ballgame onto Whisper White cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the My Favorite Things (MFT) Stitched Rectangular Die to cut out the image and color using Stampin’ Write Markers- Real Red, Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate along with Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils (I did not dilute the watercolor pencils).

Using Sponge Applicators, apply Ranger® Tim Holtz® Old Paper, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Ink to “antique” the paper.  Ink the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using the Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tea Dye Distress Ink and add additional distressing to the image.

Use the Big Shot™ to cut another rectangle from Real Red cardstock and emboss it with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Adhere the Real Red panel onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, “antique” the edges with the Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Ink and mount the stamped image onto the panel.

Use the Distressing Tool to distress the edges of the Graphic45 Good Ol’ Sport Game Day Collection paper, “antique” the edges and interior using Ranger® Tim Holtz® Old Paper, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Ink and mount onto a piece of Real Red cardstock.

Distress the edges of the Real Red cardstock layer using the Distressing Tool, “antique” with the same Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Inks as above and mount onto the Basic Black cardstock base.

Use the Big Shot™ with the MFT Horizontal Stitched Strip dies to cut a stitched strip from the Graphic45  Good  Ol’ Sport 6x6 Pattern Paper and a larger stitched strip from Basic Black cardstock.

Layer the two strips together and mount across the card front.

Use the Banner Punch to punch banners from Real Red, Basic Black and the Graphic45 Good Ol’ Sport 6x6 Paper and adhere behind the focal image panel.

Add the retired Aged Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware clip to the upper left hand corner and mount the focal image to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Use the Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker to partially ink the sentiment from Doily Blessings (Our Daily Bread Designs) and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

Punch the sentiment out with the Word Window Punch and create the banner using the Banner Punch. Repeat the same steps with a piece of Basic Black cardstock to create the banner behind the sentiment.

Use the Ranger® Tim Holtz® Old Paper, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Ink to “antique” the sentiment and stamp the large splatter stamp with Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tea  Dye Distress Ink to finish off the distressing for the sentiment.

Adhere to the focal image panel and add the Basic Black button (with Real Red cardstock “laced” through the holes) to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Take Me Out to the Ballgame, Gorgeous Grunge, Doily Blessings (ODBD)

Ink: Stāz-On© Jet Black, Ranger® Tim Holtz® Old Paper, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo Distress Ink; Stampin’ Write Markers- Real Red, Crumb Cake, Basic Black; Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils- Gray, White

Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red; Graphic45 Good Ol’ Sport- Game Day Collection and 6x6 Patterned Paper

Accessories: Big Shot™, MFT Stitched Rectangle Dies, MFT Horizontal Stitched Strips, Sponge Applicator, Distressing Tool, retired Antique Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware, Banner Punch, Basic Black button

SUO118 Happy Easter!!

Hi Stampers!

It’s time for the new SUO118 “Easter's on the Way” Challenge and I decided to create a “hybrid” card using My Digital Studio (MDS) along with traditional card making techniques.

I decided to also play along with the FM200 Friday Mashup! Challenge and chose the FM72 Sketch Challenge plus the FM97 Marker and Texture Challenge.

One of the reasons I love using MDS for creating “hybrid” cards is that some of the rubber/clear mount stamp sets that have been retired from the annual catalog are still available as “current” in MDS…plus, the storage issue is solved since they do not take up space in my craft room- oops, two reasons why I love MDS :-) !!

I hope you will find the time to check the both challenge sites and create your own Stampin’ Up! “Easter Fun” project and link up in our gallery!!

To create this card:
Using MDS, position the floral cross from Crosses of Hope and re-size.
Insert the Easter sentiment from Well Scripted and insert "Happy Easter" from Teeny Tiny Wishes.   Insert a Square Punch image, re-size the punch image to hide the "Easter" portion from the Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiment and position the “Happy” above the Well Scripted “Easter” sentiment.  Arrange the two words with the invisible punch as a group and position on the page leaving enough room to punch the image out with the XL Oval Punch.
If desired, insert other stamp images on the page to fill in all of the space ((to be used in the future) and print out onto Whisper White cardstock.
Using the Stampin’ Blendabilities™ Light Markers in Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry, color in the flowers on the cross. If desired, use the Stampin' Write Crisp Cantaloupe marker over the Daffodil Delight (originally I was going to enter this into a color challenge as well and it needed to have Crisp Cantaloupe, but I changed my mind :-))
Use the White Gel Pen to add crisp white centers to the flowers.
“Fussy-cut” the cross image out by hand and use the XL Oval Punch to punch out the sentiment.
Emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Big Shot™ and the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions™  Embossing Folder, trim the embossed panel, mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim and mount again onto the  Rich Razzleberry card base.
Add the horizontal strip of Basic Black cardstock (I used a scrap piece and cut it in half with the separation behind the vertical panel- see another secret tip :-)).
Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™  Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of  Rich Razzleberry cardstock, trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.  Add this panel to the card front per the sketch.
Adhere the sentiment onto two XL Ovals punched from Basic Black cardstock (overlapped to create a frame behind the sentiment) and mount onto the card front along with the cross image using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.
Create the bow from Basic Black cardstock using the Bow Builder Punch.  Create a rolled flower using the 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punch and Rich Razzleberry cardstock (punch one scallop circle and hand cut a wavy spiral toward the center, roll up and adhere in the middle- the leaves are from Old Olive cardstock using the Bird Builder Punch).
Add the bow with the rolled flower to the card front to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets:  Crosses of Hope, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Well Scripted (all MDS versions)
Ink: Printer Ink- Black; Stampin’ Blendabilities™ Light Markers- Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry; Stampin’ Write Marker- Crisp Cantaloupe, White Gel Pen
Paper/Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Big Shot™, Woodgrain and Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders,  Punches- Bow Builder, Bird Builder, 1 ¼” Scallop Circle, XL Oval

Thanks again for taking the time to visit – I hope that you will create your own Stampin’ Up! Only project and play along with our “Easter's on the Way” challenge!

Nautical "Hi"- A Color and Sketch Challenge :-)

Hi Stampers!

I had a chance to create another quick card for the PalsPaper Arts PPA236 Sketch Challenge (I flipped the sketch on its side) along with the Colour Me! CMCC54 Challenge.

The colors reminded me of a Nautical Theme so I decided to pull out one of my favorite current sets, Traveler and create a slightly masculine card :-)

Again, if you not have already visited either site yet, I hope you will find the time to do so- wonderful ideas from all!

To create this Clean and Layered (CAL) card:

Use the Big Shot™ along with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions™  Embossing Folder to emboss the Pacific Point striped piece of retired High Tide Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Pacific Point cardstock, trim once more and mount onto the Real Red card base.

Add the vertical panels created from Maritime DSP mounted onto Pacific Point and Real Red cardstock strips.  Add the center strip of Pacific Point cardstock.

Stamp the ship image using Pacific Point Class Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, color using an AquaPainter™ with Pacific Point Classic Ink and add more detail with the Stampin’ Write Pacific Point and Real Red markers.

Trim the focal image panel and mount onto Pacific Point cardstock, trim again and mount onto Real Red cardstock.  Add the Real Red Photo Corners (created from the retired Photo Corner Punch trimming the corners to scale) and the retired Silver Brads to the corners.

Stamp the banners using Real Red Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and punch out using the Banner Punch.  Add the banners to the back of the focal image panel.
