ODBDSLC260 Glory To God

Hello Friends!

Heat embossing was one of the first techniques that I discovered when I started stamping sixteen years ago and I still think it is a very easy way to add elegance to a card.

I decided to use the brand new Elegant Embellishments clear stamp set (with the coordinating Elegant Embellishments dies) along with the Vintage Flourish Patterns Die for the dry embossed background.

To create this card:
Stamp Sets- Elegant Embellishments, Dies- Vintage Flourish Patterns Dies,
Elegant Embellishments Dies, Vintage Label Dies, Christmas Collection 2015 6x6

Emboss a piece of White cardstock using the Vintage Flourish Patterns Die (I love the fact that these dies can be used to cut, emboss or just emboss) and trim the panel.

Cut a piece of the Christmas Collection 2015 6x6 Paper using the Vintage Labels Die and adhere to the center of the white embossed panel.

Ink the Elegant Embellishments stamps using Versamark™ ink, stamp onto white cardstock and heat emboss with Gold Embossing Powder.

Another view- it is difficult to see the two tone gold/silver
embossing on the upper left ornament
Use the Elegant Embellishments Dies to cut out the ornaments, add the Gold Cord trim and mount the ornaments to the card front (using dimensional foam for two of the ornaments).

Add the 5/8” Gold Satin Ribbon bow to the corner and mount the entire panel onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.

Adhere the entire panel to the white card base and add the Gold Cord bows to the ornaments along with the Pearls to finish off the card.

I am so thrilled to be designing alongside the talented ODBD Design Team and hope you will check out all of my DT sisters:

SUO134 Thank You

Hello Friends!

It’s time for the new SUO134 “Thank You Very Much” Challenge and I decided to create a somewhat masculine “thank you” card using the Pals PaperArts PPA273 Sketch Challenge along with the FabFri75 Color Challenge.

I hope you will have a chance to check out the Pals Paper Arts and Fab Friday Challenge sites as well as my sister Design Team member samples at the SU-Only Challenges- great inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Stamp the ship image using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock.
Create the circle mask for the sun/moon with the 1 ¼” Circle Punch and using Sponge Daubers, apply Tangelo Twist Classic Ink to the sky area and Bermuda Bay to the water.

Use an AquaPainter™ to blend some of the ink and wash a bit of the color over the sun/moon.

Once you are satisfied with the sponging, use the fine tip end of the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to add additional waves in the foreground and a few birds to the sky.

Use the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker to add shadows to the sails and lightly sponge a bit of Tangelo Twist over the waves as a reflection of the sky.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Square Collection Framelits™ to cut out the image and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim and set aside.

Ink the globe image using Bermuda Bay Classic Ink and stamp onto Bermuda Bay cardstock.

Punch out the globe image with a 2” Circle Punch and also punch a 2” circle from Basic Black cardstock.

Cut both the stamped circle and black circle in half and adhere each of the black circle halves behind the stamped globe halves and mount behind the focal image square.

Use the Big Shot™ along with the Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Use the Stampin’ Write Basic Black Marker to color in the “thank you” from the Me=Grateful sentiment and stamp onto a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock.

Add the chevron embossed panel, trim and mount the knotted Natural Linen Thread to the center.

Add the panel to a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Add the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and a few Rhinestones near the sentiment to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets:  The Open Sea, Me=Grateful
Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black,  Bermuda Bay, Tangelo Twist; Stampin’ Write Markers- Basic Black, Sahara Sand
Paper/Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Bermuda Bay
Accessories: Big Shot™, Square Collection Framelits™, Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Sponge Daubers, 1 ¼” Circle Punch, Natural Linen Thread, Rhinestones

Fall is in full color here in the Mid-Atlantic region and after our trip to Shenandoah (Skyline Drive) this past Thursday, I was inspired to create fall leaves for my "bunches" :-)

Fussy-cut the leaves and scrunch by hand to create a realistic texture.

Ink the large solid splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Hello Honey and stamp onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, clean the stamp and stamp as well with Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink.

Add the large splatter stamp using Cajun Craze Classic Ink as well as Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink.

To create this card:

De-static a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Embossing Buddy®, stamp the Carousel image using Versamark™ Ink, apply Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder, heat with the Heat Tool to melt the powder and allow the embossed image to cool.

Stamp and emboss the sentiment from the retired Stampin’ up! Word Play stamp set using the same steps as above, trim and mount onto a scrap piece of Basic Gray cardstock and strip of Basic Black cardstock.

JUGS316 Thinking of You

Hi Friends!!

It’s time for the new Just Us Girls #316 “Photo Week” Challenge and I decided to create a fun Mixed Media background using Gelatos® and Brusho® Colour Crystals.

I hope you will have a chance to check out the rest of the fabulous Just Us Girls Design Team projects and come join in on the fun!

I am also linking this card to the Splitcoaststampers’ TLC554 "WatercolorThose Die Cuts" Challenge.

To create this card:

Spritz a piece of Watercolor Paper with water and add the Lemon, Cherry and Blueberry Gelatos®, spritzing again and allowing the colors to blend.

Portion of watercolored background
prior to cutting with the die
Dry with the Heat Tool, spritz the paper again and add the Brusho® Colour Crystals  (I  used Brilliant Red, Turquoise and Yellow) adding additional water as needed to dilute the crystals swirling the colors around on the paper, dry with the Heat Tool and once dried cut out with the Big Shot™ using the Docrafts® Bee Keeper Die.

Cut another honeycomb piece using the same die from Basic Black cardstock (set aside the small black honeycomb shapes for another day:-))

Lay the watercolored honeycomb die cut frame onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and adhere each individual hexagon onto the card front.

Add the Basic Black honeycomb die cut frame off center a bit to mimic the shelves in the photo.

Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Add the Silver Metallic Thread (looping and adhering the thread behind the area that the sentiment will cover).

De-static a piece of Basic Black cardstock using the Embossing Buddy®, stamp the sentiment from the October 15 Paper Pumpkin set, Blissful Bouquet using Versamark™ Ink, apply Stampin’ Emboss White Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Wrap a few pieces of the Silver Metallic Thread around the edges, punch the ends with the Hexagon Punch to create the banner and mount to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.
