Late Summer Sunset on the Shore- A Sketch and Color Challenge

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to create a card using the CCMC266 Colors at Create with Connie and Mary along with the FabFri25Sketch Challenge and a final farewell to summer card for our Virtual Swap at The Card Gallery on Facebook.

Again, I hope you will have the time to stop by and visit each site- so much inspiration!!

To create this card:
Use the 1” Circle Punch to punch out a circle from a sticky note or other piece of paper to use as a mask for the sun (also place a piece straight across to create the horizon) and place onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.
Using a Sponge Dauber, apply Crushed Curry Classic Ink in the circle to create the sun, remove the mask and cover the recently sponged sun with the circle to protect the Crushed Curry and sponge a bit of Crushed Curry along with Tangerine Tango over the sky area.
Remove the masks and apply the same colors for the water area (remember horizontal motions across the paper).  Soften the ink using the AquaPainter™ with water being careful not to use too much water.
Add the island/inlet areas using additional masks and Chocolate Chip Classic Ink (adding a few shadows in the water as well).
Stamp the script image from Notable Notions using Tangerine Tango Classic Ink over the sky area and add a few birds with the Stampin’ Write Chocolate Chip marker.
Add the birds from Wetlands using Chocolate Chip Ink as well as the grasses along the side.  Darken the birds using the Stampin’ Write Chocolate Chip marker and add a few white highlights on the water and grasses with the Chalk Marker- trim and layer onto a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock.
Using Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, stamp the Notable Notions script and the Wetlands shore birds onto a piece of Tangerine Tango cardstock.   Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss the panel, trim and adhere to a piece of Whisper White and again onto the Chocolate Chip card base.
Adhere the sentiment (Teeny Tiny Wishes and the Word Window Punch) under the focal image and mount onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.
Add the starfish from By The Seashore using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card – FYI- this is an image that I had previously printed using My Digital Studio and re-sized a bit smaller than the original stamp- used an AquaPainter™ with Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango Classic Ink along with Chocolate Chip and Chalk Marker highlights.

Stamp Sets: Wetlands, By The Seashore, Notable Notions, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink: Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Big Shot™, Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Sponge Daubers, Punches- 1” Circle and Word Window

Thanks again for stopping!!  I hope you have a fabulous Labor Day weekend!!

SUO78 When Friends Are Together

Hi Stampers!

The Stampin’ Up! Only Challenges theme for the SUO78 Challengeis Ribbons and Bows and I decided to incorporate the CCMC265 Create with Connieand Mary Sketch Challenge :-)    I truly hope that you will have a chance to stop by to visit SUO-Only Challenges to check out all of the other Design Team creations and play along with us :-)

I love to use SU! Satin Ribbon and Seam Binding for bows but decided to create a handmade Paper Bow for this challenge, and again, since I love to re-size some of the images, used My Digital Studio (although you could modify and use the traditional stamps as well :-)).

To create this card:

Using My Digital Studio (MDS) print the wheat stamp from the Truly Grateful brush stamp set, the leaves using the Magnificent Maple Leaf stamp brush set (re-sizing for the three sizes) and sentiment image from the Friendly Words stamp brush set.

Position on the 8.5 x 11 page and print onto Very Vanilla cardstock (remember to leave room for the Framelits™ and Punches).  Color the wheat image using Stampin’ Write markers- Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Sahara Sand and color the leaves using Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie.

Carefully cut out the leaves by hand (“fussy cut”) and use the XL Oval Punch for the sentiment (also punch out two pieces using the XL Oval Punch from Chocolate Chip cardstock to create a frame behind the sentiment).

Use the Big Shot™ with the Apothecary Accents Framelit™ to cut out the wheat image and also cut a frame from Chocolate Chip cardstock to layer behind the focal image.   (by hand, cut the Chocolate Chip layer in half horizontally and layer behind the upper and lower portions of the frame).

Cut the strips for the sketch from the Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper (DSP) and layer onto Chocolate Chip cardstock.  Adhere to the background layer of DSP per the sketch and mount onto Chocolate Chip card base.

Create the Paper Bow from a piece of the DSP using the Large Oval Punch for the two loops – gently fold in half and adhere with a Glue Dot, add both loops to a small strip of DSP, attach the two banner ties and add an Antique Brad for the center.

Mount the wheat focal image, leaves and sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals®, adding the Paper Bow and Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Truly Grateful, Magnificent Maple, Friendly Words (MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Sahara Sand, Cajun Craze

Paper/Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Sweater Weather DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Apothecary Accents Framelits™,  XL and Large Oval Punch, 1” Square Punch, Antique Brad, Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you can come join us for our SUO78 Ribbon and Bows Challenge at SUO Challenges!!

Sensible Woman in a Polka Dot Dress :-)

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to create a card to start off the weekend and decided to use the Freshly Made Sketches #FMS100 Challenge (congrats on 100!) along with the SR190 colors from Stampin’ Royalty.

Hope you take the time to visit both sites- so many examples of projects (no two the same- love it!! :-))

To create this card:

Stamp the script image from Notable Notions using Basic Black Classic Ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock and adhere to a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Add the Pistachio Pudding DSP (from Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper) onto a layer of Basic Black cardstock and mount onto the background layer at an angle per the sketch.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Dress Up Framelits™ to cut the dress from the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper and use the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits™ L with a piece of Very Vanilla.

Add the 1/2” Crumb Cake Seam Binding for the waistband (fold in half first) across the dress and adhere behind the dress with Glue Dots.

To create the paper roses- Use the 7/8” Scallop Circle Punch and 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punch to punch out circles from Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock (one with the 7/8” Punch and three with the 1 ¼” Punch).

Take your scissors and cut a wavy spiral cut around the flower- start from the outside and follow the circle around towards the center leaving an area in the middle for the glue, scrunch the paper a bit and roll the cardstock up starting from the outside edge towards the center.  Add a bit of Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the center of the flower to hold in place and add a Pearl (Splitcoaststampers has a photo tutorial here).

Use the Bird Builder Punch to punch out the leaves from Pistachio Pudding Cardstock (I cut a few leaves off the stem for the small rose) and adhere behind the flowers using Glue Dots.     Add the small rose to the waist of the dress with a Glue Dot.

Adhere a strip of Crisp Cantaloupe DSP (from Birthday Basics) to a piece of Basic Black cardstock and add to the front of the card overlapping the Pistachio Pudding and Doily a bit.

I decided to use a previously printed My Digital Studio™  (MDS) sentiment from Favorite Thoughts (love this sentiment and the download is still current :-))  and hand cut the banner points.  To handcut, using Paper Snips cut toward the sentiment on the end (in the middle) and then hand cut from the corners to meet the end of the center cut  (again toward the sentiment).   I have also cut the banner points in the past using the 1" Square Punch but decided to go the hand cut way this time :-)

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals® add the banner and the dress- finish off the card adding the roses to the corner of the sentiment.

Stamp Sets:  Notable Notions, Favorite Thoughts (MDS)

Ink: Basic Printer Ink- Black, Black Classic Ink

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Designer Series Paper- Birthday Basics, Modern Medley and Venetian Romance

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Dress Up Framelits™, Delicate Doilies Sizzlits™ L, 7/8” and 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punches, ½” Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon, Pearls

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- it is so encouraging to me!!  Have a great weekend and God Bless!!

O Holy Night- Another Christmas in August Card

Hi Stampers!!

I wanted to create another quick Christmas card that I could easily multiply for one of my designs for the August CCC13 Splitcoaststampers Christmas Card Challenge (I had committed to 20-25 cards per month and figured it would be easier to make 5-6 of each design versus all one design since I tend to become easily bored :-))

Once I saw the terrific PPA169 sketch at this week’s Pals Paper Arts site , I knew it would work well for the new O Holy Night stamp (again, if you have not visited their site yet, I encourage you to do so- love their Design Team samples and they always have a large gallery of entries- so much inspiration!! )

To create this card:

Using the Embossing Buddy®, de-static a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamp the Christmas scene from Come to Bethlehem using Versamark™ ink.  Apply Stampin’ Emboss® Silver Embossing Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.

Repeat the same steps using a piece of Vellum and the O Holy Night stamp (O Holy Night is one of my favorite hymns), embossing the image with Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder.

Once the images are cooled, trim and adhere to Basic Black cardstock.  Add the 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon bow to the top of the vertical panel.

Mount a piece of Winter Frost DSP onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and adhere to the Whisper White card base and attach the vertical and horizontal panels per the sketch (using Stampin’ Dimensionals® for the vertical panel).

Add the Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  O Holy Night, Come To Bethlehem (retired)

Ink: Versamark™

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Vellum, Winter Frost DSP

Accessories: Embossing Buddy®, Heat Tool, Stampin’ Emboss Black and Silver Embossing Powder, Rhinestones, 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon (retired)

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- your visit is such an encouragement to me!! God Bless and have a wonderful Thursday !!

A Vintage Christmas Postcard

Hi Again Stampers!

I am working on catching up with the Christmas cards for the CCC13 Splitcoaststampers Challenge and originally had hoped to enter the Just Add Ink JAI178 Just Add Snowflakes Challenge (but the JAI challenge is closed- oops! missed the deadline :-)).

Since I am making multiples, My Digital Studio came to my rescue (again)…

To create this card:

In My Digital Studio (MDS), open a blank 8.5 x 11 custom page and insert the Post Card stamp brush set ( I actually enlarged just a bit).  Add the desired images – I used the stamp and snowflake images from Old St. Nick, the tree line from Lovely As A Tree, the skaters from Winter Post and the sentiment from More Merry Messages.

To layer your images, insert a punch image (I used an oval behind the skaters and a circle behind the sentiment).  Re-size the punch to the size of your main image and fill the punch in with Whisper White.  Place your main image over the punch (it will disappear for a moment) and choose the option to bring your main image to the front.

Click on the images and move as a “group” to the position on the postcard.

Print onto Crumb Cake cardstock, cut out and color using the Pool Party and Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write markers along with the White Gel Pen.  Create a few masks using Circle Punches to cover the images and add a bit of Crumb Cake and Soft Suede Classic Ink using Sponge Daubers.

Distress the edges using the Distressing Tool along with sponging Crumb Cake and Soft Suede Classic Ink.  Add to a layer of Whisper White, attach the 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon bow, distress again and add to a layer of Basic Black- repeat the Distressing.

Add a few Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Post Card, Winter Post, Old St. Nick, More Merry Messages  (all MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Stampin’ Write markers- Pool Party, Sahara Sand

Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Crumb Cake

Accessories:  Distressing Tool, Sponge Daubers, 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon (retired), Pearls, White Gel Pen

Now that I have the design finished, off to make at least four more :-)

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- have a wonderful Wednesday!!

True Friend- A Sketch and Color Combo

Hi Again Stampers!

I love this week’s DD66 Colors at the Dynamic Duos and wanted to create one more card before I start work and chores ...:-)

I decided to incorporate the DD66 colors with the SC449 Sketch atSplitcoaststampers- again, as always, if you have not visited either site, I hope you will take the time to do so.

OK, I know that I mentioned I would be using rubber stamps versus My Digital Studio (MDS) this week, but I already had these images printed and cut, plus I utilized other scraps on hand, so forgive me, but I could not resist…

To create this card:

In My Digital Studio (MDS), open a blank 8.5 x 11 custom page and insert the stamp brush set Swallowtail.

Re-size and position wherever you like on the page (I usually print a few of these out and “fussy-cut” for my cards).

Add the sentiment to your page as well (I used one from a retired stamp set, Simple Friendship- still available as a MDS Download).  Print the images onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the butterfly using the Pool Party and Basic Black Stampin’ Write markers- add a few highlights with the White Gel Pen.  Fussy cut and adhere using Stampin’ Dimensionals® onto an embossed Whisper White layer onto Basic Black cardstock.

Ink the background stamp, Ex Libris with Pool Party Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Pool Party cardstock.  Mount onto Basic Black cardstock- I used a previous stamped scrap with this stamp image, two small strips of Basic Black scraps at the top and bottom, plus this layer is cut in half to make the width of the card – again, now you know my secrets!  Oh, and there is an oval punch from the Pool Party layer behind the butterfly…Now you know all of the secrets on this one :-)!!

Use the Big Shot™ to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, add to a layer of Basic Black.  Adhere the Pool Party layer along with the three banners at the bottom, add the sentiment (layered onto Basic Black using the Large Oval Punch) and 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon bow and butterfly focal panel.

Add a few Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Swallowtail, Simple Friendship  (all MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Stampin’ Write markers- Pool Party, Basic Black

Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Pool Party, really old retired SU! background papers

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (retired), Large Oval Punch, 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon (retired), Rhinestones, White Gel Pen

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- have a wonderful day!!

CAS Christmas- A Floral Wreath :-)

Hi Stampers!!

I wanted to create a quick, easy Clean and Simple (CAS) Christmas card that I could easily multiply for one of my designs for the August CCC13 Splitcoaststampers Christmas CardChallenge.

This challenge is to help encourage and motivate you create your Christmas cards throughout the year (versus waiting until the last minute like I normally do :-)) or worst yet, not even get a chance to finish (like last year for me- I was so disappointed).  I have a very large list with our Awana club and church families so have committed to 20-25 cards per month but I am behind again...so I will be featuring Christmas cards frequently for the next few months :-)

Sometimes I like to try to use stamps that are not normally designed for Christmas to create a Christmas card and that is what I did here...  As I looked at my current catalog stamps, I thought that I could do something with a stamp set I do not recall inking up yet, Betsy's Blossoms :-)  The wreath is created from the large flower and this card is so easy to make!!

To create this card:

Uses the 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punch to punch out a piece of scrap card stock to use as the center mask for the wreath.

Ink the large floral stamp from Betsy’s Blossom using Always Artichoke Classic Ink and lay the mask created in the above step in the center of the stamp.

With the stamp facing up toward you, lay a piece of Whisper White cardstock on top of the stamp, gently press around the floral image and lift up carefully.

Stamp the sentiment from More Merry Messages using Cherry Cobbler Ink, trim the panel to size and adhere to a piece of Always Artichoke along with Cherry Cobbler cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder- trim to 4” x 5 ¼”.  Mount this panel onto a Whisper White card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Adhere the center panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add the ½” Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Bow to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Betsy’s Blossoms, More Merry Messages

Ink: Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler

Paper: Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler

Accessories: Big Shot™, Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, ½” Cherry Cobber Seam Binding Ribbon

This is a really quick, fun and easy card!  You could step it up a bit with Pearls, Rhinestones or the new Candy Dots (which I have yet to order) but I decided to keep it plain and simple- hope you like it!!

*** REVISION ***  OK, changed my mind and did add a few Cherry Cobber cardstock dots using the smallest circle on the Owl Punch and highlighting with the White Gel Pen- I think I like this version a bit better :-)

Thanks again for stopping by- have a terrific Tuesday!!

Two Cards, One Layer and a bit of Scoring!!

Hi Stampers!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful Sunday!  When I checked out this week’s  PP159 Challenge at The Paper Players, I was surprised to see that it was “Ann’s CAS One Layer Challenge”  :-)  Ann and I both struggle with one layer cards and since she made a fabulous one, I knew I would have to take the challenge as well- thanks for the inspiration Ann!!

Again, if you have not taken the time to visit their site, check it out!!  So many lovely Design Team samples and entries!

Originally I was going to create a masked background but I struggle with creating a "clean" one layer card (I always seem to smudge something or stamp the sentiment crooked) so I decided to take the My Digital Studio (MDS) route again!  For those of you who love the real rubber stamps (I do as well) and are tired of the MDS cards, I promise, they will be coming out to "play" this week :-)

To create the first card:

Open a blank 8.5 x 11 custom page and insert the stamp brush set Swallowtail.  Re-size and position onto the far right hand side of the page (so when you print and score down the center, the image will be on the front of the card).

Click on the image to allow the “handles” to appear and position your mouse over one of the corner handles until you see the curved arrow (this is the symbol for rotating).  Hold the mouse button down and click on the handle to drag the image into a slight curve.

Insert a Square Punch and enlarge to place over the wing area on the right- change the color of the punch to Whisper White (so it will disappear).

Position the sentiment from Watercolor Trio under the butterfly (retired set as a rubber stamp set but still "current" in MDS- love it!!).

For the second card:

Follow the same steps above with the Sunflower background stamp brush set, the Square Punches for the sides and angle one of the punches for the bottom right and insert the sentiment from Lovely Romance.

Print the cards onto Whisper White cardstock, fold in half and with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool, add Score Lines along the top, sides and bottom of the card.

Clean and simple (CAS) and only one layer- woohoo, I did it!!

Stamp Sets:  Swallowtail, Watercolor Trio, Sunflower, Lovely Romance  (all MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black

Cardstock: Whisper White

Accessories:  Simply Scored Scoring Tool

I think I will make a few more for a set for quick mailings :-)

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- your visit is such an encouragement to me!!

Have a wonderful Monday!!

Celebrate! A CAS Card from My Digital Studio

Hi Stampers!

I hope all of you are having a great weekend so far!  I wanted to play around in my craft room this evening so I decided to create a card using the FMS99 Sketch at Freshly Made Sketches along with a few My Digital Studio (MDS) images.

I know some of you have mentioned that you own MDS but feel a bit intimidated to use it for creating cards, but it is quite easy to learn the basics- I love it for creating "hybrid" cards (the black printer ink is so crisp and clean looking).

I have a few customers who have purchased MDS and these cards are created to encourage them to use the program (ladies, you know who you are :-)) and hopefully,  if this applies to you as well, then you may also be encouraged to get started!

Again, if you have not visited the Freshly Made Sketches site this week, please try to take the time to do so!  Amazing how many cards can be created using one sketch!!

To create this card:

In My Digital Studio (MDS), open a blank 8.5 x 11 custom page and insert the stamp brush set from Postage Due (the large stamp with the bicycle) and the Paris stamp.  The 3 cent stamp is from the2012 Sale-A-Bration stamp brush set, Fresh Vintage and the sentiment is from the 2013 Sale-A-Bration, Feeling Sentimental set.  If you do not have the Sale-A-Bration stamp brush sets (they were only available during that year's Sale-A-Bration as one of your free with $50 options) then you could use another stamp from Postage Due and a sentiment from one of the sets that you do own  (of course,  as you know, this entire card could be made with the actual stamps as well versus MDS).

Re-size the images – click on the image and use the “handles” created by the program (hold your mouse key down as you drag to enlarge or reduce).  I reduced the size of the background to fit onto the 4 ¼” x 5 ½” card base and changed the opacity to 40%- see note below.  Print onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock (*** Note *** I did not realize that my printer would print the opacity of 40% on the Basic Black ink with a purple hue, but it matches Wisteria Wonder – love it when that happens!! :-)

I reduced the stamp images to fit within the 1” Square Punch but hand cut the Parisian stamps since there is a bit of an arch at the top and bottom.   Again, use your rulers in the program at the top and the side to help determine the size of the images and sometimes, you may have to go back in to re-size and re-print until you are comfortable with the program (but keep the first images for another card).

Use the Postage Stamp with Basic Black cardstock to create the frames for the stamp images, and mount these onto a piece of Wisteria Wonder Designer Series Paper (DSP) using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.  Adhere the DSP layer to a piece of Basic Black cardstock and add the 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon bow.

Mount the Postage Due image onto a piece of Wisteria Wonder cardstock ( *** Note-  Secret ***  I had to cut the lower piece off of the background and position at the bottom so it would fit onto the cardstock layer- I covered the gap with the 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon- now you know another one of my secrets :-)).

Layer the background panel onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and onto the Wisteria Wonder card base- add the vertical DSP layer with the stamps and bow.

Create the banner points on the sentiment using a 1” Square Punch, layer onto Wisteria Wonder cardstock and “mirror” the points with 1” Square Punch (or by hand) and repeat the steps with Basic Black.

Adhere the sentiment to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add the Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Postage Due, Feeling Sentimental, Fresh Vintage (all MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black

Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Wisteria Wonder

Accessories:  1” Square Punch, Postage Stamp Punch, 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon (retired), Rhinestones

I know that the images are digital, but if I had not told you, possibly you would not know...I hope this can inspire you to use your program for cards and other projects and not just for scrapbooking (although it is great for that as well!)...

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- have a wonderful Sunday!!

Winter Memories for the PP158 Paper Players

Hi Stampers!

I hope all of you are enjoying your week so far!  I needed to have a crafting break today so I decided to create a card for The Paper Players PP158 Color Challenge along with another design for my August commitment to the CCC13 Splitcoaststampers Christmas Card Challenge.  If you have not had a chance to visit The Paper Players site yet, please take a moment to do so- love their Design Team samples!

I decided to use My Digital Studio (MDS) again to create another Christmas card and utilize traditional card making techniques for this “hybrid” card.   This version is a bit "clean” for my normal style- I have updated with two other versions - see below :-)

Original version- see below for revised vintage style  and update with White Gel Pen :-)
To create this card:

Open MDS and insert the stamp brush set images from Winter Memories along with the sentiment from More Merry Messages.  Print the images onto an 8 ½ x 11 piece of Whisper  White cardstock using Black Printer Ink.

Color the images with Stampin’ Write markers as follows:

Crisp Cantaloupe for the sleigh and bow, Pear Pizzazz for the wreath, Strawberry Slush for the cardinals and highlighting the ribbon and bow, Sahara Sand for highlighting the wood behind the sleigh, add a few areas for the shadows and a layer over the sleigh and follow with another layer of Crisp Cantaloupe.

"Clean" with the White Gel Pen :-)
With the Big Shot™ with the Oval Collection Framelits™, cut an oval in a Strawberry Slush cardstock layer.  Emboss with the Petals-A-Plenty Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and add the focal image behind the oval.

Layer this panel onto Whisper White cardstock and then again onto a Pear Pizzazz card base.

Trim the sentiment, add the banner points with the 1” Square Punch and layer onto a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and add to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Northern Frost Decorative Strip (retired) to cut snowflakes from the Whisper White cardstock, add to the card front using Mini Glue Dots™ and finish off the card with Pearls.
Stamp Sets:  Winter Memories, More Merry Messages (all MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Crisp Cantaloupe, Pear Pizzazz, Strawberry Slush

Cardstock: Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Strawberry Slush

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Ovals Collection Framelits™, Northern Frost Decorative Strip (retired), Petals-A-Plenty Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, 1” Square Punch, Pearls

***  UPDATED VERSION ***
Vintage- in addtion to the White Gel Pen, Sponging and Distressing :-)

I decided to revise the other three cards to a more vintage style by inking the folder prior to embossing with Crumb Cake Classic Ink as well as adding Crumb Cake over the main image, snowflakes and sentiment, distressing the edges and add some White Gel Pen highlights.

If you have a chance, let me know which you prefer- the "clean" version or the vintage?

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- have a great week!

SUO77 Vintage Birthday

Hi Stampers!

I created this card for the Stampin’ Up! Only SUO77 Birthday Challenge along with the SplitcoaststampersCC437 Color Challenge – please stop by to check out our Design Team projects and the details- hope you will be able to create a project and join us!

To create this card:

Ink the Ex Libris background stamp using Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink onto Baked Brown Sugar cardstock.  Use the Distressing Tool to distress the edges and adhere to a piece of Strawberry Slush cardstock (distress the edge of this layer as well).

Mount the panel onto a Baked Brown Sugar cardstock base and distress the edges, curling the corners a bit.

Create the rolled flowers from Strawberry Slush cardstock using the 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punch (cut into the circle towards the center and roll up- see the Splitcoaststampers tutorial here) and cut the leaves from Pistachio Pudding cardstock using the Big Shot™ with the Little Leaves Sizzlet™.  Add a bit of Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink using a Sponge Dauber to “antique” the flowers and leaves a bit.

Stamp the label from Everything Eleanor using Baked Brown Sugar onto Strawberry Slush cardstock- carefully cut out by hand and use the Distressing Tool along the edges.  Sponge additional Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink along the edges and add to the card front.

Ink the sentiment from Wetlands using Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink and stamp onto Baked Brown Sugar cardstock- punch out using the Large Oval Punch and layer two Large Oval pieces from Pistachio Pudding cardstock behind the sentiment oval.  Distress and add to an XL Oval piece from Quatrefancy Designer Series Paper (distressed and sponged with Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink).  Layer onto the Strawberry Slush label and add the rolled flowers and leaves.

Stamp the butterfly from Papillon Potpourri using Baked Brown Sugar onto Strawberry Slush cardstock, punch out using the Elegant Butterfly Punch and add to the card using Mini Glue Dots™.

To finish off the card, add Pearls to the corners, center of the rolled flowers, butterfly and edge of the label.
