This year I am hoping to complete at least four different Christmas card designs each month and have decided to try to create more CAS cards so that they are easier to mail :-)    I purchased the Holiday Horn stamp on clearance this past fall and have not used it before today- so this is my "NBUS" and "new" item :-)

Hopefully you will find the time to visit each of the sites/galleries- check out the Design Team samples as well as the other entries (great job by all!)...

Trim the panel to size and mount onto Strawberry Slush cardstock, trim again and mount onto Basic Gray cardstock.

Adhere the embossed layered panel onto the Whisper White card base and add the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Nautical "Hi"- A Color and Sketch Challenge :-)

Hi Stampers!

I had a chance to create another quick card for the PalsPaper Arts PPA236 Sketch Challenge (I flipped the sketch on its side) along with the Colour Me! CMCC54 Challenge.

The colors reminded me of a Nautical Theme so I decided to pull out one of my favorite current sets, Traveler and create a slightly masculine card :-)

Again, if you not have already visited either site yet, I hope you will find the time to do so- wonderful ideas from all!

To create this Clean and Layered (CAL) card:

Use the Big Shot™ along with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions™  Embossing Folder to emboss the Pacific Point striped piece of retired High Tide Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Pacific Point cardstock, trim once more and mount onto the Real Red card base.

Add the vertical panels created from Maritime DSP mounted onto Pacific Point and Real Red cardstock strips.  Add the center strip of Pacific Point cardstock.

Stamp the ship image using Pacific Point Class Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, color using an AquaPainter™ with Pacific Point Classic Ink and add more detail with the Stampin’ Write Pacific Point and Real Red markers.

Trim the focal image panel and mount onto Pacific Point cardstock, trim again and mount onto Real Red cardstock.  Add the Real Red Photo Corners (created from the retired Photo Corner Punch trimming the corners to scale) and the retired Silver Brads to the corners.

Stamp the banners using Real Red Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and punch out using the Banner Punch.  Add the banners to the back of the focal image panel.

Adhere the focal image panel to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish the card.

Stamp Sets: World Traveler, Banner Blast

Ink: Pacific Point, Real Red Classic Ink;  Stampin’ Write markers- Pacific Point, Real Red

Thinking of You- A Color, A Sketch and An Assortment Challenge :-)

Hi Stampers!

I hope all of you are having a great weekend so far!  I was able to complete one more card for a few challenges this morning- the AW33 Sketch Challenge, the CCMC338 ColorChallenge and the AYSI070 Assortment Challenge.

Again, I hope you have the time to stop by the above sites to check out the great inspiration from the Design Teams as well as the other entries!

I decided to create a Clean and Layered card with one of my favorite sets, By The Tide along with the new set, Moon Lake (for the sentiment).

To create this card:

Ink the coral stamp from By The Tide using the Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Markers and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

Ink the script stamp using Bermuda Bay Classic Ink and stamp off before stamping over the coral area.

Ink the Nantucket stamp using Bermuda Bay Classic Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock, punch out with the ¾” Circle Punch.

Ink the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Calypso Coral Classic Ink and repeatedly stamp over the images.  Trim the panel and mount onto Calypso Coral cardstock.

Create the banners by applying Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral Classic Ink onto the background stamp, Positively Chevron.  Stamp the chevron onto Whisper White cardstock and punch out with the Banner Punch.  Color the Whisper White portion with the Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write marker and distress with the Distressing Tool.

Using Natural Linen, create the banner line with a few knots and add the banners to the line.  Mount the banner on an angle to the focal image panel and add the Nantucket image using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Ink the fish image using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock, color with the Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Markers and add a few highlights with the White Gel Pen.

Carefully cut out the fish image and add to the panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.
Add the focal image to a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock, trim and mount onto the Calypso Coral card base.

Ink the sentiment using Bermuda Bay Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and create the banner points using the Hexagon Punch.

Add a few Rhinestones to the banner, sentiment and focal image to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  By The Tide, Gorgeous Grunge, Moon Lake

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral; Stampin’ Write Markers- Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry, White Gel Pen

Thinking of You- A Mixed Media Botanical Study

Hi Again Stampers!!

I created this card for my hubby-he and I both love to watch birds and even after 32 years,  I am always "Thinking of Him" :-)

Again, I hope you will take the time to visit the above sites- such wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the bird, eggs, plate number and bees from the retired set, Nature Walk and the sentiment from the retired hostess set, Kind and Caring Thoughts using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the images using Ranger® Tim Holtz® Vintage Photo Distress Ink and add additional color to the eggs using Soft Sky Classic Ink.

Use an AquaPainter™ along with Frost White Shimmer Paint to paint the wings on the bees and  “fussy-cut” all of the images.

Use a Sponge Dauber with Ranger® Tim Holtz® Vintage Photo Distress Ink to add the honeycomb stenciling to the retired Botanical Tea Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Use the Big Shot™ with the retired Finial Press Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Soft Sky cardstock (ink the interior of the folder with Ranger® Tim Holtz® Vintage Photo Distress Ink before embossing) and adhere to a piece of Early Espresso cardstock (I used strips from my stash).

Distress the edges of the Botanical Tea DSP panel along with the Tim Holtz® Wallflower paper using the Distressing Tool and add additional Ranger® Tim Holtz® Vintage Photo Distress Ink using the Gorgeous Grunge large splatter stamp to the sentiment and Wallpaper panel.

Use a sewing machine to add the Tim Holtz® Wallflower panel to a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and the Botanical Tea DSP panel to a piece of Soft Sky cardstock. Add additional Ranger® Tim Holtz® Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the edges.

Mount the honeycomb panel onto the Early Espresso card base.  Add the stitched Wallflower panel on an angle and adhere the eggs, plate number, sentiment and bird using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add the bees directly to the card front using regular adhesive.

Merry Christmas Deer- A Fun Background Technique

Hi Stampers!!

I had a chance to play in my craft room this week and created this tag card for the Merry Monday #141 Christmas Critters Challenge along with the Simon Says Monday “Get Inky” Challenge and the Splitcoaststampers CCC15 Christmas Card Challenge

If you have not already visited the above sites, I hope you will find the time to do so- fabulous Design Team inspiration as well as galleries!

To create this card:

Create the tag from Whisper White cardstock (I used a Graphic45 Album Tag as a template) and adhere the Typeset Designer Series Paper (DSP) to the Whisper White cardstock.

Apply Ranger® Tim Holtz® Peacock Feathers, Festive Berries and Picked Raspberry  Distress Inks to the background (spritzing with water and allowing the colors to merge).

Dry with a Heat Tool and add more color as needed.    Use Soft White Acrylic Paint with a stencil brush to add a bit of splatter to the background and a Faber-Castell White Pitt Pen to add a few small snowflakes.

Once dry, apply Ranger® Tim Holtz® Picket Fence Distress Ink over the background and dry with the Heat Tool.

De-static the background with the Embossing Buddy®, stamp the snowflakes using Versamark™ Ink, apply Stampin’ Emboss® White Embossing Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.

Create the snowbank using Whisper White cardstock (I cut the curvy banks by hand) and add the panel to the bottom of the tag.

Use the Project Life® ¾” Corner Rounder to round the corners, add the Basic Black cardstock behind the tag and create the corners at the bottom of the tag using the Project Life® ¾” Corner Rounder Punch.  Carefully hand cut the curves at the top of the tag.

Use the Big Shot™ to cut the sentiment with the Merry Christmas to All (Memory Box) die from Silver Foil Paper for the sentiment and the Deer Trio Die (Impression Obsession) from Basic Black cardstock for the deer.  Add both to the tag (using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to adhere the deer).

Use the Martha Stewart Alpine Snowflake Punch to punch out a few snowflakes from Silver Foil Paper and add to the embossed snowflakes on the front of the tag.

Adhere a few Large Rhinestones to the center of the snowflakes and add the 5/8” Black Satin Ribbon bow to the top of the tag.

Create the card base from Whisper White cardstock (this card is 7 ½” tall by 5 ½” wide).

Mount a piece of Basic Black cardstock to the card front and add a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

On a piece of Wisteria Wonder cardstock, repeatedly stamp the snowflakes using Versamark™ Ink, trim and mount onto the card front.

Add the tag to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Many Merry Stars

Ink: Versamark™, Ranger® Tim Holtz® Peacock Feathers, Festive Berries, Picked Raspberry and Picket Fence Distress Inks, Soft White Acrylic Paint, Faber-Castell White Pitt Pen

CAS Sympathy- Three Challenges in One :-)

Hi Stampers!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful week so far!  I had a great evening with our Awana clubbers and once I arrived home, decided to spend some time in my craft area and create a card  for the PP227 Ann's Color Challenge Challenge along with inspiration from the FMS169 Sketch Challenge and the SR262 Inspiration Photo.

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites yet, again, I would encourage you to do so- they all have wonderful Design Teams and tremendous inspiration from their galleries each week!

I chose to create another sympathy card since so many people in our lives have lost loved ones recently and I like to pray for them as I create the cards...

This Clean and Simple (CAS) card was fairly quick and easy since I already had the butterfly image embossed in my “organized” images from a previous project (believe me, not all of my images are organized, that’s for sure- a definite work in progress :-))

Also, it was difficult to get a good photograph of this card- the Crisp Cantaloupe on the wings appears darker in the photo than IRL and the background is a bit greener IRL than the photo shows (where the Sahara Sand and Lost Lagoon overlap) - possibly due to the Frost White Shimmer Paint on the wings, and of course, lighting- ugh, always an issue!!

To create this CAS card:

Ink the center of the retired background stamp, Medallion using Sahara Sand Classic Ink and using a Sponge Dauber randomly apply Lost Lagoon Classic Ink over the Sahara Sand (be careful not to cover the Sahara Sand completely).

Ink the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Lost Lagoon Classic Ink and stamp onto the Medallion background.

Ink the sentiment using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto the panel.  Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe, trim again and mount onto the Lost Lagoon card base.

Using the Embossing Buddy®, de-static a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamp the butterfly image using Versamark™ ink.

Apply Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.

Using the Crisp Cantaloupe and Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Write marker, color the image.   Carefully cut out (“fussy cut”) the butterfly out and mount onto the card front.

Using an AquaPainter™, apply diluted Frost White Shimmer Paint to the colored portions of the butterfly wings to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Wonderful Wings, Medallion, Love & Sympathy, Gorgeous Grunge

Ink: Versamark™,  Lost Lagoon, Sahara Sand; Stampin’ Write Markers-Crisp Cantaloupe, Lost Lagoon

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Crisp Cantaloupe, Lost Lagoon

Accessories:  Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Sponge Daubers

Thanks again for visiting- you are all such an encouragement to me!!

SUO114 Happy Birthday "Dots, Dots and More Dots"

Hi Stampers!

It’s time for the new SUO114 “Dots, Dots and More Dots" Challenge and I decided to enhance a piece of Lullaby Designer Series Paper (DSP) with additional dots.

This card also incorporates Seize the Birthday 01/01/15 Challenge (the toppings option is "Party" and all of the dots look like a “Party” to me :-))

I hope you will find the time to check the rest of the Design Team at all of the challenge sites and come join in on the fun!

To create this card:
Create the circle stencils using sticky note paper and the 1 ¾” and 1” Circle Punches.
Using Sponge Daubers with Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe Classic Ink, sponge additional circles onto the piece of Lullaby DSP and add additional “dots” with the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Coastal Cabana Classic Ink.
Trim the DSP panel and mount onto a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Bermuda Bay card base.
Stamp the sentiment using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto the card front.
Ink the flowers from the hostess set, Bloom with Hope with Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp twice onto Whisper White cardstock.
Use an AquaPainter™ with Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral Classic Ink to color the flowers.   Fussy-cut the flowers and mount onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.
Add the ½ White Tea Lace Paper Doily to the lower half of the card front and add a strip of Bermuda Bay cardstock to cover the edge of the doily.
Create the Bermuda Bay bow using the new Bow Builder Punch and add the Calypso Coral button to the center (use a small silver of Bermuda Bay cardstock to mimic thread in the button).
Mount the bow to the card front to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets:  Bloom with Hope, Express Yourself, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black, Bermuda Bay, Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral
Paper/Cardstock: Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Lullaby DSP
Accessories:  Punches- 1 ¾” and 1 “ Circle, Bow Builder Punch, White Tea Lace Paper Doily, sticky note paper,  retired Sycamore Street Calypso Coral button

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by – I hope that you will join in on in on the fun with your Stampin’ Up! Only creations and create your own “Dots, Dots and More Dots” project!
